It's been two years but the Tokyo Toy Show is finally back! And with it comes the Japan Toy Awards 2022 where Masterpiece Gattai Shouki has won an award in the "high target toy division" (according to Google translate). OK, so it actually lost the top grand prize spot to Bandai Spirits' over $700 GX-100 Gaiking set and it's more of a runner up "outstanding performance award" in that category, but they only give out four of those in each category so it's still an achievement! And it lets them stick a silver Japan Toy Awards logo on their website (as seen below) and possibly even the figure's box, though there probably isn't time for that on the first batch due out in less than two weeks.
The Tokyo Toy Show runs Thursday and Friday this week (June 16 and 17). If there's Transformers news to be found there you can be sure we'll be sharing it here on Seibertron!

Well, Transformers fans, it looks like we are going to have a big reveal this coming week! The Transformers official Facebook page has posted that on Friday, the Transformers team at Hasbro will be doing a Fan First Friday streaming event on their YouTube channel. This isn't anything unusual- they've been doing FFF and Transformers Tuesday events all year- but it looks like we're going to get something pretty big revealed. Given their use of the phrase "Let's say go!" in the post, it seems they're going to reveal the HasLab Transformers: Victory project that was teased several weeks back. Seeing as how that was Autobot Supreme Commander Star Saber's catchphrase in the Victory cartoon, it's highly likely that we'll be seeing a reveal of a Star Saber figure in a few days.
While their post is by no means a confirmation of a Star Saber figure, it's hard not to speculate that it will be a new version of the Fan favorite Autobot. If it turns out to be true, this would also be the first transforming version of Star Saber released in the U.S. market; his previous G1 and Masterpiece figures were only released in Japan, as was the Victory cartoon (though the MP was available from online e-tailers in the US).
So are you pumped to see what the big reveal is? Hoping to see what the remaining Kingdom figures are going to be? There's only one way to find out, and that's to tune in this Friday at 11am ET on Pulse's YouTube channel. See you all then!

Can you believe that the last we heard of this Masterpiece Tigatron was before the COVID 19 lockdown? Well, with parts of the world getting back to normal, there was actually a show that Hasbro physically attended just a few days ago. And they brought in not only their products but also the products they are importing from Takara, such as God Neptune, Super Megatron and MP-50 Tigatron. Those toys were on display and you can see images of them below. Also on display was the upcoming MP Arcee, MPM Starscream, the Quintesson Pit set and basically the entire output of the year so far. The convention in question was the Hasbro Fans Expo in Hong Kong. The images came from
Toyswalker,
Hobymizer, and
DMS Toys Treasure on Facebook.

Greetings all. Courtesy of our friends from down under,
Ozformers has posted images from their toy fair this weekend on the Ozformers Facebook page! A multitude of items were on display here, showing off product from all the major Transformers lines, including Earthrise, Studio Series, Cyberverse, Botbots and even Masterpiece. The most interesting image to note here is the Sky Lynx display which included the original G1 Sky Lynx next to his new Earthrise figure! This is our first direct comparison between these two "magnificent" specimens, giving us a good side by side look at the old and the new. Earthrise Sky Lynx appears to be even larger than the original with a darker shade of blue and red to go along with all the bells and whistles of modern engineering. Sky Lynx would be pleased.
We have provided all the images from the Ozformers Facebook post for your viewing pleasure. Give them a look!
Are you excited about all these new releases coming down the pipe? Does this magnificent new Sky Lynx tickle your fancy? Let us know in the comments down below and keep it tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers needs!

It was
this time last year at Wonder Festival 2019 [Winter] that Takara Tomy revealed their intentions to release repaints of MP-10 Convoy/Optimus prime based on Nike Air Max shoes designed by Japanese designer atmos. A year later we have what may be the final design for the "duck camo" version that mixes camouflage and blaze orange. Changes are fairly minor from the original prototype, the weapons are now orange instead of brown and the truck stripe is now camo. The orange is a lot paler than on the shoe so hopefully there's still some room for improvement. Images come via
Dengeki Hobby.
Meanwhile at WonFes 2020 we also got to see a full Selects Seacons set on display. This is likely all final retail figures since the final set is due for release in Japan in March. Interestingly they've included Lio Convoy in the display, perhaps foreshadowing the coming of a certain other king of the ocean from his time? Photos also come via
Dengeki Hobby. Interestingly the display points out quite prominently that Selects is a joint venture between Takara Tomy and Hasbro rather than the two companies doing their own things separately under the same logo as we previously thought. It seems Hasbro may have had some involvement in the Seacons' and Star Convoy's creation after all.
And finally, we little fanfare, was a display for Japan's wave 1 of Earthrise plus Omega Supreme. Comparing the displays and how little of ER will be sold at retail it would seem like Takara Tomy has much bigger plans for Studio Series in 2020. Image comes via

It's going to be an exciting 2020! Be sure to let us know what you've thought about Wonder Festival 2020 [Winter] in the Energon Pub Forums!

Wonder Festival 2020 is now underway in Japan with the displays finalized and image coming in from various twitter accounts and websites, like
Dengeki Hobby. Below you can see Takara Tomy's Transformers Masterpiece MP-50 Tigatron in his full completely new mold glory. While some fans thought a simple redeco of MP Cheetor with a new head could do the job for Tigatron, the die hard Beast Wars fans knew this would not be enough and Takara did indeed go out of their way to make him as show accurate as possible. This means his mold is fully unique with achieving new transformation steps to get to similar looking Cheetor robot mode detail in some places. With MP Cheetor right next to him, you can just compare and see that hinges, shapes and sizes for pieces are all different, which is remarkable. The feet for instance are a different shape and proportion to Cheetor's and the chest is made up of his actual beast mode head, and his arms have different functionality implemented with them along with different panel segments. All this shows that the transformation will be distinct from Cheetor's, at least from a level of the smaller steps. The price is revealed on a tag next to him and it is 24000 yen, so around $220 USD. Since this does not appear to be an exclusive item, it will most probably be available at a 20-30% discount from Japanese retailers.
Let us know what you think of him and if you will be preordering him or not when the time comes.

Wonder Festival 2020 is now underway in Japan with the displays finalized and images coming in from various twitter accounts and websites, like
Dengeki Hobby. Below you can see Takara Tomy's Transformers Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee in her full glory. However, she appears to be mistransformed. It would explain why her chest area is not propped up properly, which also hides detail from her robot's abdominal area. The price is revealed on a tag next to her and it is 16000 yen, so around $145 USD. Since this does not appear to be an exclusive item, it will most probably be available at a 20-30% discount from Japanese retailers.
Let us know what you think of her and if you will be preordering her or not when the time comes.

Thought you'd be seeing a few reveals this weekend at Wonder Fest 2020? Previously, it had been teased that we'd be seeing a fully combined Studio Series Devastator, but as we have learned, thanks to TFW2005 boards member S250, the next two entries in the Masterpiece line have been revealed, and they are none other than Arcee, the first female Transformer to have a major role in the franchise, and Tigatron, one of the heroes from the Beast Wars cartoon's Maximal faction! As can be seen from the pictures below, there are already color models (if not actual prototypes) at the Japanese toy festival, taking place this weekend. Accompanying displays state that Arcee is MP-51, and Tigatron is MP-50.
As some observers have pointed out, the Japanese text for these displays state that preorders for these two figures should be coming this spring, likely in just a couple of months.
So what do you think of this big news? Are you excited for either or both of these figures? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned for more news from Wonder Festival 2020!

Takara Tomy is attending a Japanese railroad toys show and they have many toys from their Plarail line on display. They also have a poster featuring Transformers Raiden in silhouette along with the G1 figures nearby. The images below come were posted by Takara on twitter. Fellow Seibertronian Powered Convoy sent us this info and says that the text on the poster "mentions that Masterpiece Raiden is coming". Still, take this with a grain of salt since we don't know exactly what that would mean for combiners in the MP line. We will update you when we learn more.
