It seems like almost the entirety of the Legacy Evolution line is now available in some form or another, be it online or in stores. We are still missing a few, but with the recent sightings, we are now well into wave 4 of the Legacy Evolution line in terms of sightings. The wave 4 deluxes have now been found at the Plaza Bonita Target in California by ApocalypseThruster. Those are Detritus, Bombshell, Strongarm and Shadow Striker. This adds to the recent sighting of the wave 4 voyagers, Bludgeon and Trashmaster, at Gamestops in both the US and Canada. This wave's leader, Dreadwing has not appeared in stores yet, but is available at online retailers, like cdmstore.
You can see video reviews for all those figures below.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Bombshell completes the Legacy Evolution updates to the G1 Insecticons and I have to admit that I feel underwhelmed. Bombshell is a repaint/retool of Shrapnel and while it works well, I'm disappointed that we're denied three unique molds for the Insecticons. I do enjoy Bombshell and it's a worthy addition to your Insecticon army.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:If you were to ask me to list 10 figures that I don't think would get updates in a modern Transformers line, Detritus wouldn't make the list because I just wouldn't think of it. Imagine my surprise that our first experience with the SS86 Hound mold is Detritus here in the Legacy Evolution line. The mold is fantastic and the best modern Hound mold we've gotten, much easier to handle than the Masterpiece. While I can't say this is a must-have figure, if you want to experience the SS86 mold Detritus is a solid purchase, on sale, which will probably be before we see the release of Hound.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Shadow Striker is a great figure but there are lots of little things going on with it that might turn some people off. First, I feel labeling the figure from the Cyberverse Universe is a disservice as the use of this mold is clearly meant to homage the TFCC convention exclusive. That leads to the second point, this mold is meant for Robots In Disguise Sideburn who we know is coming at a later point. With that said I find it hard to recommend this figure since once Sideburn is released most of this version will become redundant.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:What some new parts and paint can do for a mold is fantastic. Elita-1 and Minerva were ok, but Strongarm is the best use of this mold. Outside of an entirely new mold, this is the best modern interpretation of Strongarm we'll get and it's my favorite figure of the wave.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:It's incredible how some different colors can make you appreciate a mold and realize what it's for. While we all thought that the mold was intended for Tarn, with these new colors and details of the mold pop, I believe that Bludgeon was the intended use all along. I also have to point out that a Voyager Transformer has enough articulation to do a proper two-handed sword pose, something that figures double or triple the price can't do. If you tend to favor Tarn then I'm not sure I can recommend the double dip, but this is the best Bludgeon figure since the original G1 mold.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:It's nice to see Hasbro reach across all Transformer lines for Legacy. Prime was an exciting show coming in the wake of the live-action movies. Skyquake and Dreadwing were two of the stand-out characters from the show and it's nice to see them in Evolution. The base mold that they share is meant to homage the Predator Skyquake, a character from the European Generation One period. Skyquake and Dreadwing are fun figures and either or both would fit well in your collection.
We have quite a bit of MPM Blackout news for you today. Firstly, this toy is up at Amazon Japan for preorders, and we thank Kanrabat for letting us know.
-Kanrabat- wrote:For those who want him, MPM-13 Blackout's preorder are now open at Amazon.jp for 16797JPY as I write this.
Lots of new sightings today. Both Legacy Titan class Metroplex and the exclusive Red Cog figure were found at targets today.
MrRay found the Red Cog weapon pack at a Target in Pennsylvania, while Zuckuss found Metroplex at a Target in New Jersey.
You'll see in that Metroplex photo that Zuckuss also found a never before seen thee pack in the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line which rereleases deluxes Bumblebee, Prime and Cheetor.
Fellow Seibertronian D-Maximal_Primal found Transformers Masterpiece MPM 12 Optimus Prime at his local Target. This toy should have reached most areas of the US by now. The toy was $125.99 USD. He wrote a pictorial review for us, which you can read below:
First off, let's start with the strongest part of the figure, and the part that really got me excited right out of the box: the robot mode. The robot mode on this figure is stunning. The detail is incredible on the mold. The wash effect across portions of this figure contribute to the detailing and molded in greeble, and produced a pretty spectacular effect the whole way around. It is a gorgeous looking robot mode, with a ton to look at.
The articulation department is frustratingly close to being spot on. The main issue is the head: it can basically only swivel, there isn't a lot of up and down motion to be had, and coupled with the darker eyes means it's hard to get him really looking at something above his chest level. He also really needed a knuckle joint on his pointing finger, but that's a more minor complaint in the grand scheme. Outside of that, the articulation is solid and he can pose it up pretty good.
The gun is pretty big and pretty neat, but it does have an issue where it can only be held in the normal hand to forearm position, otherwise it is not tall enough to clear the forearm for poses like the 2-handed gun pose, but you can still make do with the way the hands function to loosely hold the gun.
The matrix included is a nice touch, if a bit out of place considering Prime wasn't shown to have something like this. But it is neat and a nice touch to the overall package.
Transformation isn't too bad on this, it is mostly straight forward, and things are mostly going where you expect them to. The grill becoming the movie accurate back was neat.
But you can definitely tell this figure really focused in on that robot mode and not the alt mode. The alt mode is definitely the weakest point on this figure. The back seems too long, the wheel base feels too long from front to back wheels, and the area from the smokestacks on back just isn't that good. The alt mode definitely feels like a victim of budget cuts or trying to avoid over-complicating things. The gun storage is also pretty weak, but it is what it is.
So overall, this figure ain't bad. The robot mode is a rockstar that I would say is pretty near perfect, a 9 out of 10 at least. He just needed a little more in the head and hand position. Transformation is pretty involved but not stupid complicated. But the alt mode lets it down.
Overall, I'd say this is maybe a 7 out of 10? I don't want to be too harsh, but the alt mode is pretty disappointing in the back despite the badass robot mode.
I would recommend him though. The design is pretty good, and the robot mode has some mass to it and really plays the part.
Transformers MP 51 Masterpiece Arcee is shipping from online retailers at the end of this month and it has even appeared in some shops like Takashiyama in Singapore. Cybertron21 has released a transformation video which you can see below. This will close the year of Arcee where each line had an Arcee release, be it Studio Series, War for Cybertron, Cyberverse and Masterpiece. Oddly enough, while the Masterpiece should be the most cartoon accurate it has a rather inacurate chest. In the cartoon, Arcee has a pink upper torso and a small white collar around her neck but here it makes it look like her collar is part of her torso, and the front of the torso begins below her shoulders. It's like her back half and her front half are not in synch with one another. Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter now that we can see exactly how she transforms and which sacrifices were made.
The Singapore sighting was reported on TFW2005 by their member Automorpher.
We have some more sightings for you. Firstly, MPM Ratchet has been found in Canada at Toysrus, where he is exclusive. He was found at Toysrus stores all over the country including Quebec, which is a province the toy won't ship to if you buy it online (still currently available). The toy is $169.99 CAD.
Another exclusive found recently is Gigawatt from the Transformers Collaborative Back to the Future Mash-Up. It was found at EB Games for $59.99 CAD. That specific sighting was first posted on Cybertron.ca.
Thanks to Seibertronian Casey280, we have news of a deal that's very much worth hunting for! He found Movie Masterpiece MPM-9 Megatron at a bargain price of only $39.99, down from his original retail price of $159.99, a savings of 75%! This was found at a Ross store in Novato,California. Not to be content with just one MPM at a fraction of their original price, he also let us know there were a few of MPM-6 Ironhide at only $24.99! Photo proof is included below.
Are you going to head out to (safely) hunt for these figures at your local Ross? Going to start (or re-start) your Movie Masterpiece collection? Let us know below, and be sure to send in your sightings of heavily discounted, hard to find, big-ticket Transformers to us. Happy hunting!
The last of the original live-action movie Autobot cast is finally out in Masterpiece form! Yours truly spotted the Autobot medic Ratchet at a Target in Centerville, Utah this morning.
While browsing the Transformers aisle at my local Target, I noticed a Target associate putting away toys from a cart. I glanced at the cart and noticed the familiar red script on the box and on getting a closer look, I found this:
I didn't see a shelf tag for him, so I asked the associate, and on scanning the box, he told me it was street-dated for October 1st, so I was unable to purchase him. Still, he's starting to show up to stores, and can be purchased next week!
Do you plan on adding this figure to your collection? Let us know below, and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest Transformers news!
Greetings Seibertronians! We have excellent news for fans of Starscream and of the Transformers Movie Masterpiece line, as MPM-10 Starscream is in stock and delivering from Target.com!

Are you getting this Movie Masterpiece? Will you be hunting for him in store or have you secured a preorder already? Let wgo know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!
We thank Rodimus Knight for informing us that Transformers Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee is now available on Amazon Japan. For most fans, this is usually the cheapest and fastest way to get Takara toys. In this instance, she would only set you back $106 USD for international retailers, since they don't have to pay taxes. You may get import fees depending on where you are, like in Canada, Israel or the UK (the example shown below is being shipped to Canada). There should be no import fees for the US though. The shipping price is around $14 USD and it tends to be the quickest international shipping possible.
Of course, regardless of the price being lower here, the question of whether or not a collector wants this Arcee remains the big one. So let us know!
