The 40th anniversary of Transformers is bringing us a lot of big and new things, but one of the biggest staples of the franchise is coming to an end. With the release of MP-60 Ginrai, what they're calling the 100th MP figure when including certain special edition and limited releases they're calling it quits on the Masterpiece line as we know it. That's not to say we wont be getting anymore MPs at all, but the primary line that originated with MP-01 some 21 years ago will no longer Exist at the end of 2024. A blurb on the official website for MP-60 and MP-09 states that the line will continue with the MPG line moving forward. Whether this means all future MPs will be combiners of some sort or if the MPG line is being rebranded is currently unknown. What this might mean for the Masterpiece Movie line headed by Hasbro is also unknow, but probably wont be affected by this news, at least not outside of Japan. Until Takara Tomy clarifies further all we can do is speculate. Below you'll find the pertinent bit from the website as translated by Google.
With so many characters left undone it's hard to guess what the future might bring for the line. Thanks to Sabrblade in the Seibertron Energon Pub Forums for letting us know. And be sure to let us know how you feel about what may be sad news for many fans in the forums as well.
We're nearing the release of Movie Masterpiece MPM-14 Bonecrusher and we're already getting our first tease of the next MPM. Thanks to the finding of Jtprime17 we're now aware that what we're going go guess is MPM-15, Brawl, is on the horizon! At this point we know next to nothing about the release but it's probably a safe bet that it'll be a Target exclusive in the US and available worldwide through the usual suspects like Amazon Japan.
With this we're basically at the end of of the 2007 movie lineup, the only exclusion being Frenzy. Maybe Hasbro will find a way to fix that someday soon. Hard to say if we'll be seeing Brawl's reveal this year or not but we shouldn't be too far away from it. More as we learn it. Big thanks to EvasionModeBumblebee for posting this in the Energon Pub Forums!
Thanks to ToyBase on Youtube, we have our first transformation video for the upcoming Transformers Movie Masterpiece MPM-14 Bonecrusher! This video gives us some size comparisons in robot mode and in alt mode for Bonecrusher compared to MPM-4 Optimus, as well as a full vehicle to robot conversion sequence.
Bonecrusher appears to have a very intuitive yet straightforward transformation, with some awesome little details such as how his crotch wheels in the inner thighs are formed, and how much of his alt mode goes into his giant claw.
Also briefly shown off are the flame effects from when he smashes through the bus, his alternate claw pieces, and his alternate face from when Prime gives him a solid punch.
Check out the video below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
Thanks to a notice from Seibertronian PrimeisBoss, we have news that ThreeZero has started showing off the next couple of figures for their DLX line.
ThreeZero to date has been producing a great line of figures for a Masterpiece-esque price that are extremely nice replicas of the live action movie bots. These include Optimus Prime as he appeared in his Knight-style body, Optimus Prime and Jetfire when they combined in Revenge of the Fallen, Bumblebee movie figures such as Bee and Arcee, and recently they have started into the Rise of the Bests movie, putting Optimus Prime and Bumblebee up for preorder, and teasing an Optimus Primal.
Well, thanks to the HK-TF 變形金剛香港網盟 Facebook group, we have images of their next round of figures. Here we see the prototype of Primal once more, as well as another shot of Prime, but we also get to see their newest reveals: Scourge and Mirage! Scourge ended up being an appropriately menacing villain, while Mirage turned out to be the main character and the heart of the film. Of note, this is only Mirage's 4th figure period, and only the 2nd using his final movie design.
We do not know when these figures will be going up for preorder, or indeed when we can expect colored images, but check out the prototypes below, and let us know what you think!
Thanks to Seibertronian EvasionModeBumblebee for letting us know that Transformers MPM-14 Bonecrusher has been announced by Target as part of their Summer Geek-Out and pre-orders are live at both Target.com and Hasbro Pulse. He has a few interesting features like 50 points of articulation, over 180 deco operations, flame effects, alternate forks and, yes, the head is removable! In fact he comes with an alternate destroyed head with an eye hanging out. He's priced at $164.99 and is expected to be out in late November 2023.
Takara has new preorders for Transformers figures today on their site today. None of these are exclusive so they can be ordered on Amazon japan as well. And only one is a fully new reveal: Movie Masterpiece MPM-12N Nemesis Prime. While it is called Nemesis Prime, the deco does take cues from Black Convoy/Scourge as well, like the teal on the antennae. There will surely be links for the Hasbro orders soon, but Takara is the first to put them up.
Thanks to our standard source of early images, PrimevsPrime, we have new in hand images of the upcoming Transformers Movie Masterpiece MPM-13 Blackout. Blackout is a brand new mold which captures the look of the very first Transformer ever seen in live action on the big screen, and transforms into his helicopter mode complete with Scorponok mini-figure. This figure also includes blast effects for his guns, as well as the detachable section of the rotor to finally give him a movie accurate weapon while maintaining his back rotors.
This figure should be available for preorder soon, presumably from Target.

We've seen sales on Pulse before and they tend to be a little underwhelming on the Transformers front with a small selection of sales items and not particularly great deals. Well not this time! Hasbro Pulse's new Power Days sales event where spending $75 or more in select figures will save you 40% off instantly! No coupons and no memberships required! And the selection for Transformers fans is nothing to scoff at. How does Selects Titan Black Zarak $107 sound? Or how about Masterpiece Skywarp 2.0 for $143? Or maybe Jurassic Park Collaborative set for what some would call the right price of $63? And it's not just the big stuff! The first wave of Legacy and Studio Series Core Class are only $7 each. There's also several Selects figures, a few left over Shattered Glass figures, even a few left from the Premium Finish line. I personally picked up SS Grindor, Premium Finish Megatron and Legacy Bulkhead for a combined total of only $86 before tax and shipping saving nearly $60. It's definitely a sale worth checking out even if you aren't looking for Transformers.
Sale runs until June 6, but you'll want to get in early for the best deals as stuff is already selling out in the first hours!
Transformers MPM Blackout was revealed to China today and since both this release and the SS release represent the same character, it was not obvious to see how much of an improvement this masterpiece release was over the standard leader class figure. Well, Hasbro released a video that gives us a better look at the figure. Now we see many new details, like how the rotor weapon actually combines with the main rotor is super cool. This is the only screen accurate take of that weapon we've gotten on a Blackout figure. We also see that the lower windows on the cockpit actually fold away for bot mode and he finally has the chest gun. Also the alt mode is entirely paneled, meaning the alt mode looks perfect at every angle.
Info on the price is all over the place with a range of around $150-$250, so we'll wait until an official statement from Hasbro to western fans. Enjoy the video and stills below.
