It seems like almost the entirety of the Legacy Evolution line is now available in some form or another, be it online or in stores. We are still missing a few, but with the recent sightings, we are now well into wave 4 of the Legacy Evolution line in terms of sightings. The wave 4 deluxes have now been found at the Plaza Bonita Target in California by ApocalypseThruster. Those are Detritus, Bombshell, Strongarm and Shadow Striker. This adds to the recent sighting of the wave 4 voyagers, Bludgeon and Trashmaster, at Gamestops in both the US and Canada. This wave's leader, Dreadwing has not appeared in stores yet, but is available at online retailers, like cdmstore.

You can see video reviews for all those figures below.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Bombshell completes the Legacy Evolution updates to the G1 Insecticons and I have to admit that I feel underwhelmed. Bombshell is a repaint/retool of Shrapnel and while it works well, I'm disappointed that we're denied three unique molds for the Insecticons. I do enjoy Bombshell and it's a worthy addition to your Insecticon army.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:If you were to ask me to list 10 figures that I don't think would get updates in a modern Transformers line, Detritus wouldn't make the list because I just wouldn't think of it. Imagine my surprise that our first experience with the SS86 Hound mold is Detritus here in the Legacy Evolution line. The mold is fantastic and the best modern Hound mold we've gotten, much easier to handle than the Masterpiece. While I can't say this is a must-have figure, if you want to experience the SS86 mold Detritus is a solid purchase, on sale, which will probably be before we see the release of Hound.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Shadow Striker is a great figure but there are lots of little things going on with it that might turn some people off. First, I feel labeling the figure from the Cyberverse Universe is a disservice as the use of this mold is clearly meant to homage the TFCC convention exclusive. That leads to the second point, this mold is meant for Robots In Disguise Sideburn who we know is coming at a later point. With that said I find it hard to recommend this figure since once Sideburn is released most of this version will become redundant.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:What some new parts and paint can do for a mold is fantastic. Elita-1 and Minerva were ok, but Strongarm is the best use of this mold. Outside of an entirely new mold, this is the best modern interpretation of Strongarm we'll get and it's my favorite figure of the wave.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:It's incredible how some different colors can make you appreciate a mold and realize what it's for. While we all thought that the mold was intended for Tarn, with these new colors and details of the mold pop, I believe that Bludgeon was the intended use all along. I also have to point out that a Voyager Transformer has enough articulation to do a proper two-handed sword pose, something that figures double or triple the price can't do. If you tend to favor Tarn then I'm not sure I can recommend the double dip, but this is the best Bludgeon figure since the original G1 mold.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:It's nice to see Hasbro reach across all Transformer lines for Legacy. Prime was an exciting show coming in the wake of the live-action movies. Skyquake and Dreadwing were two of the stand-out characters from the show and it's nice to see them in Evolution. The base mold that they share is meant to homage the Predator Skyquake, a character from the European Generation One period. Skyquake and Dreadwing are fun figures and either or both would fit well in your collection.

I hope this becomes a "thing" in fiction or something. Like a recurring gag with Nacelle and unknown substances.

Hah, yeah, maybe Nacelle will have something in common with Skalor after contracting this "space fungus"...

Agreed, if he designed the wings for the Coneheads, he could've also invented Pretender Shells to heal his own infection, then given one to Finback to fight his metal-wasting disease.

Has the actual fungus proven "curable" with warm water, like space-barnacles in Animated?

I searched around to see if anyone had any more interesting combinations, and I found nothing.
So I tinkered a bit, and came up with this, completely unofficial, but improved (In my opinion) Junkasaurus.

I used a Trashmaster, an Axlegrease, and a Scraphook, along with all of their components.

If anyone has any other cool Junkions combos, I'd love to see them! (I still have yet to find any really good 'Evo-Fusion' ideas for Trashmaster's parts, other than just swapping out the trucks front end)

I found this design on Reddit, which uses all components from Trashmaster, Scraphook, and Crashbar. I think it works well.

Watching the livestream now. I love how excited these guys get about what they're showing off. My collection is very G1-based but I might need the entire first wave of United.

Pulsecon is live! Legacy United poster features both Magmatron and Tidal Wave! Not revealed, but the poster show TW connected to Armada Megatron maybe we're getting two Commanders?

Core Energon Megatron looks great, in cartoon colors, has his tank sword and wing guns.

Tasmania Kid is amazing! Done in a sort of cartoon style.

Apparently the Rocks aren't Rocklords so much as rock vehicles, apparently inspired from rock beings from Transformers Headmasters. They're modular and transform, except for the Core Bouldercrash which turns into a weapon instead of armor.

Deluxe Magneous is neat, looks like a rocky Junkion. Just a really cool looking figure!

Deluxe Animated Bumblebee we've seen.

Deluxe Rescuebots Chase is a surprising figure. Teased a second use something amazing.

Deluxe Cyberverse Windblade is OK, but the proportions are weird, especially the jet.

Voyager Thundertron is nice, more articulated than the original. Mention Zoid Liger inspiration.

Voyager Animated Optimus Prime we've seen. Lightbar is removable.

Leader Tiger Hawk looks cool in bot mode, beast mode has really scrawny back legs. Cartoon colors!

Leaders now have open boxes like the rest of the figures!

Talking about Robosen Grimlock now.

Talking PulseCon exclusive Hot Shot.

Hall of fame is up:
Human - Takio Ejima
Evolution figure - Armada Optimus Prime
RID Character - Sky-Byte

Q&A
Can we get Prime video game characters in Gamer Edition - absolutely

Best Dinobot - All three gushed over a figure that hasn't been revealed (SS86 Swoop most likely).

Deathsaurus update - Figure is in production, have their sample at the RI offices (they're in MA), video coming.

Transformers HasLab in 2023 - No, maybe next year.

Which is odd. Considering the alteration to the design aesthetic made with the Beast Era figures so far ala Kingdom and Legacy. Featuring more "realistic" Beast Modes.

Legacy United
  • Poster that shows Magmatron and Tidal Wave among many other new faces. They're probably the Commander and Titan, respectively.

Core class
  • Energon Megatron - cartoon-based colors, tank-sword, "if you like Energon or Superlink, let us know and we might make more"
  • Beast Wars Tasmania Kid - Evan corrected himself that it is "Beast Wars Second" not "Beast Wars Two", and noted that this figure also works as Snarl, realistic Tasmanian devil sculpt
  • Infernac Universe Armorizer Bouldercrash - rock-based motorcycle bot, based on rock creatures from The Headmasters episode "My Friend Sixshot", and slightly from Rock Lords, can convert into a rock weapon, Armorizers are the new gimmick toys like the other "-izer" figures, based on red quartz rock
Deluxe class
  • Infernac Universe Armorizer Magneous - solid black rock truck bot, similar to Scraphook's altmode
  • Animated Universe Bumblebee - the figure we've seen already, originally had a different head design that wasn't Animated enough, final head hues closer to Derrick J. Wyatt's style
  • Rescue Bots Universe Chase - looks like a retool of Earthrise Runabout/Runamuck, they hint at something else big planned for this figure to be revealed six months from now
  • Cyberverse Universe Windblade - looks like just the traditional Windblade design rather than anything particularly Cyberverse-based, but really good, fan-blades spin around to let people choose between the silver or black sides of the fan-blades
Voyager class
  • Prime Universe Thundertron -looks pretty close to his original design, and actually looks like a better figure than the original, really big shoulder pads but no vertical claws on them, they compare him to a Liger from Zoids
  • Animated Universe Optimus Prime - they acknowledged the choice to go without the mouthplate for this one, was "essential" for them get the blue and red tints on his lightbar, wanted to conceal the front wheels as much as possible
Leader class
  • Tigerhawk - show-accurate purple instead of blue, called a Fuzor repeatedly, Kingdom sculping, very show-accurate robot mode, they acknowledge the lack of shiny paint ("We'll get there!")
  • Laser Optimus Prime rerelease - open-window box so you can see the figure this time

PulseCon exclusive
  • Powerlinx Hot Shot & Jolt - Jolt was colored orange because he was orange in the cartoon, Hot Shot has a new connection point on his back that the first release didn't have

Q&A
  • There is a game for TF: Prime. Could we get Prime characters in SS: Gamer Edition? - Absolutely. Studio Series at this point, it could be anything.
  • Who is the best Dinobot? - Evan likes Sludge, but everyone always says Grimlock.
  • Any news on HasLab Deathsaurus? - He is in production, an unboxing video is coming soon.
  • Any HasLab for Transformers this year? - Nope! Next year, however, is the 40th anniversary, and an "omega-type reveal" is coming.

A few thoughts from the panel:

- First, and this is very important to point out, MAGMATRON!!!!!!!
- Tasmania Kid has turned out great, it looks different enough that I can't tell if it's an original mould or a very heavy retool of Kingdom Rattrap. Either way I might get him.
- The Rocks are definitely not what I imagined, the designs are nice and creative, and it's neat that they took inspiration from Japanese G1 for them. I probably won't buy any of them, but they do look very cool.
- I'm pleasantly surprised by Thundertron, I did think he was going to be a heavy retool of Lio Convoy, so not only am I happy that he's an original mould, but he looks pretty damn good too. I'm definitely buying one, and I can't wait for the other Star Seekers.
- I'm also definitely buying both Animated Optimus and Bumblebee, I'm not 100% decided on Windblade because I'm not a huge fan of the character but the toy does look decent, and while I'm not a big enough Rescue Bots fan to buy Chase, I do think that mould would make a good Evergreen style Barricade.
- The United artwork confirms that we are definitely getting Tidal Wave (in show colours to boot!) and he is able to combine with Megatron, that's one I'm very excited about!
- Tigerhawk does look a bit odd, I don't like the chicken legs or that weird looking tiger head. I feel as if I should buy him because I have Transmetal 2 Megatron, but I'm undecided as of yet.
- Finally, and this is extremely important to point out,

MAAAAAAAGMAAAAAAAATROOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!

The alt mode is still fairly realistic, but the bot mode proportions feel a little more cartoon like to me. I wish he was done in black instead of gray like the toy, but I'm sure Takara will give us the right colors since only his bot shoulders are visible in alt mode, they can still make him two toned brown. I really like the way he turned out.

My own thoughts, catching up with the reveals:

Tasmania Kid: I adore it, he looks good, glad to see more smaller beasts being used for Core class.

Energon Megatron: He looks neat! I like the design, and I have the OG legends Cybertron megatron, so he will go good paired up with that Megatron.

Bouldercrash: I didn't know what to expect, but he looks really interesting, they got me with the armorizers.

Magneous: same as bouldercrash, but I like him more, I love the wheelpecks

Bumblebee: already shared thoughts, but I dig him

Chase: he feels a bit off to me, like he needed the flared boots like Bee did. I wonder what could be so huge from his mold to mention that 6 months early.

Windblade: nothing really screams "cyberverse" to me, but she looks good, and I will gladly let her go with Bee and Shadowstriker on the Cyberverse shelf.

Prime: already said how much I love him, well done.

Thundertron: looks really solid, I like it a lot. He still feels super random in terms of getting another toy, but they nailed him.

Tigerhawk: I am so unbelievably happy he is happening, my favorite Beast finally gets another chance!

The poster: Titan Tidal Wave, about what I expected and I am glad for it. Commander Magmatron is out of left field, but super awesome! Love that we will get that!

2024 Haslab prediction: Animated Omega Supreme or RiD2001 Omega Prime.

Well, if he's the Commander instead, then what's Magmatron? A measly Leader class?

I hadn't considered Omega Prime. I suppose he could work for the 40th anniversary. But it was said at some point that the next HasLab wouldn't be an Optimus, and Omega is made of an Optimus.

Conversely, Animated Omega checks the "not an Optimus" box, but doesn't really seem representative of the 40th anniversary, which the HasLab will be celebrating.

Wheelpecks, n., pectoral muscles formed by the combination of fenders and wheels on the chest of a Transformer. Like with all of the robotic muscles on characters from the Infernac universe, Magneous's are rock-hard.
Love it.

Maybe Titan tidal wave comes with additional tidal wave chunks to attach to megatron.

Magmatron is a must for me if it is a decent toy. one of the few beast figures I never had the original or rerelease of back when all the 'dinobots' and other beastmachine figures were dirt cheap.

Tigerhawk might get some loving form has..third party companies to give it the old toy bird hood. Looks liek a buy even though I passed on TM2 megatron.

Piratecat looks pretty zoid like but I think I'll wait for an energon Ravage repaint.

Windblade is an easy pass, when you have one windblade you have all the windblades needed.

Chase might get reused for a collab? Dunno, he looks cool enough to pick up anyways. *I cant unsee him as t.j hooker. just needs a shatner head.

I'm liking the rock guys but thinking transparent plastic would help them look more crystally and shiny rather than them just going lava/obsidian. Shame we neever got to see what the eenergon monsters would have been like.

Tasmania Kid and Tigerhawk, yes! The tiny backlegs on Tigerhawk's beast mode are a bit weird, but it's nice overall. I still have my Snarl from when I was a kid (although missing a beast leg), but this new guy looks distinct enough.

Very interested in the new rock guys, altough they look a bit too... cubic, I guess? I expected them to have more different geomentries, since they're rocks.

Also: MAGMATRON AND TIDAL WAVE, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I forgot to mention, I hope we get core class Diver one day!

We won't know until next year, but I don't find this logic convincing. If they wanted to tease Cybertron or Primus, there are dozens of better teases they could've done than a reference to Omega Lock, especially since Omega suggests multiple more plausible answers.

At this point I have to ask. Why is anyone who already collects transformers figures interested in these updated releases? The majority of sculpts are atrocious when compared to the originals. This Tigerhawk is a joke. I didn't think hasbro could put the bar lower than the new BW Megatron but they did.
I understand kids would like this, but you can get the original Tigerhwak on eBay for $40.

Except that animated Omega Supreme would be the Ark which would be very 40th anniversary since the first 5 minutes of the first episode is about powering up the Ark to escape Cybertron.

I would agree that Primus would be a good 40th anniversary, but it'd be another $800 haslab. I'd rather see a $250 Ark done better than what we got with the last autobot.

Kinda weird that they promote and now sell super7 power rangers ultimates so maybe transformers ultimates and reaction will be available too (at least for american hasbro pulse).

I've managed to get my pre-orders in for Optimus, Thundertron, Bumblebee and Tasmania Kid, and also managed to buy Powerlinx Hot Shot, and I'm relieved I managed to get my order in before he sold out, that was a big anxiety I had for a while. At the moment Pulse UK is saying January for Bumblebee and Tasmania, and February for Optimus and Thundertron, which isn't too long to wait, especially as I got a shipping notice for Ultra Magnus today, and Ratchet isn't too far away either.

I understand kids would like this, but you can get the original Tigerhwak on eBay for $40.

Come on, reveal the 5th junkion!

United is a great line, especially Tigerhawk. Good to see the rock lords return.

Wow so much to unpack from this
First of all, MAGMATRONNN!!!!!! and as commander class so you know he's gonna come out fooking bada$$. That will be an instant buy, I love that character. I never got the original because the lack of articulation just wasn't worth it for me. DIVIDE AND CONQUER!!

Core class:
•don't care about Megatron but looks really good tbh
•bouldercrash looks cool. Won't consider getting the new armorizers until I see combined form, I've grown tired of them with fossilizers and junkions
•Tasmanian Kid looks better than I expected by a long shot, I love both modes. The tail gun kinda sucks but alt mode is awesome, head sculpt is cool as sh!t and the beefy hands in bot mode are cool. Instant buy.

Deluxe class:
•other rock guy is cool too, I like the weapon
•I don't care about chase but that mold is pretty good. Primevsprime speculated this would be reused as Prime Cliffjumper which would be an instant buy for me so fingers crossed
•still on the fence about Bumblebee
•Windblade's face is a little weird but I've been wanting to own the character so I'll be picking it up. I'll get the remold into slipstream too. Maybe I'll use her as a TF gamora with my TF guardians of the galaxy team along with Shadow Striker as Nebula

Voyager class:
•still on the fence about Prime
•Thundertron! Mixed bag for me. Robot mode shoulder pads are a little lame compared to the original having the claws there. Headsculpt is kinda derpy. The Prime figure had such a menacing face and this one looks too nice lol and the alt mode looks really good. But the lion front legs look a little skinny. Wondering if I should nab this one now or wait on the potential leader Walmart version? I'm gonna own that character one way or another though
Looks like tidal wave will be my first Titan class figure as well, my captain will need his ship!!

Leader class:
•PR prime: whatever who cares
•Tigerhawk: TIGERHAWK!!!!! I already pre-ordered him. I love tigerhawk, I still own the original and Tigatron/tigerhawk is a favorite character up there with depth charge and dinobot. Robot mode looks fantastic, I love love love love love the robot mode. And the asymmetrical head is a nice touch. Accurate colors, noice. Feather swords? That's a fun idea, kind of lazily executed though. Some molded blades on the feathers edges wouldve been nice
Lol not sure why people are surprised that the fuzor freak of nature with bird legs has skinny bird legs. That's what bird legs look like, they weren't beefy on the original toy as pointed out above and the cartoon model didn't have beefy legs either. If anything its a shame the front legs still have the robot feet visible. And that tiger head... looks like a fox or a Raccoon or something idk it looks weird. But I love him and I'm getting him

And to reiterate the sentiment of a fellow seibertronian, MAGMATRONNN!!!!!!

I like the idea of all my figures and characters interacting. The thrilling 30/reveal the shield line was the first taste of this that I can remember, which inspired my signature. Trying to mish mash toys like the original animated, with generations and movie style figures just doesn't work for me. They don't go together. And I want them to, having separate mini collections sucks, I want the interaction of my favorite characters. That's why I exclusively collect generations figures (and the studio series figures that can fit in with them) and why I hope we continue to see figures like this for a long time. I love what they're doing. It hurts my wallet but feeds my soul

Core Megs just looks cute.
Tiger hawk, definitely picking him up.
Chase has piqued my interest.

Thundertron…. Not sure….

So, Magmatron….. interesting Commander Class… more interesting.
Does that mean we can expect a Magnaboss at some point or. Tripredacus?

TFA Optimus was one of the only ones I wanted, but through a combination of delays, and high demand, it got sold out on Pulse before I could pre-order. I want to hope they'll restock - but this is Hasbro we're talking about. And they've had an annoying habit lately of making all the really good figures completely unavailable (coughcoughcoughVelocitronCosmoscoughcoughcoughLeaderSnarlcoughcoughcough)...

Just wait and buy TFA Optimus from any number of other retailers. It's not an exclusive, it's a mass retail figure. It'll be available everywhere.

Encore BC is available on TFSource for preorder for some reason. https://tfsource.com/transformers-encore/big-convoy/

With all the out there releases these days, I would not put it past them to give us a big Convoy at some point. 2 repaints built in.

Dat alt for Tasmanian Kid!! So good.

Tigerhawk looks great in bot mode! Not as cool in alt tho

I can’t wait to see the updates for Tidal Wave and Magmatron!!

But it would take a lot to store away my OG Magmatron….

I really hope that Tidal Wave is titan class, even if the color scheme is from the show and not the game.

Yes, it's Titan Class.

On another note, I'm really bummed by the discussion and dissapointment on social media with the lack of G1. There was a complaint that the generations line had little variety and now that we finally have it I see so many Debbie Downers.

Pretty cool for Hasbro to give us not only reveals for the entire first wave of the Legacy Unite figures but also our first look at the titan class and commander class figures of 2024 through the poster art. On the poster we can see Magmatron highlighted in the centre. The commander class gives Hasbro extra budget to accomodate a toy requiring 3 seperate alt modes combining. And speaking of 3 seperate alt modes combining, we also have our first look at titan class Tidal Wave on the same poster. We can see that it is in Armada colours. Also, we do see the repacked leader class Armada Galvatron below it, so that could hint at an interaction between the toys.

Below you will also find alt mode images for the toys which we didn't receive officially from Hasbro for our previous story. And if you want to watch the full stream, we have the video for you too. Enjoy!
