The tiger head looks a little odd though.I will assume it's because it's a hand-painted version of the toy for the festival.

Man and he even has his wrist-rocket! Oh shit son, this...I’m almost to tears with this news! Proof that God loves Beast Wars!

Just kidding, this will make a fine addition to my BW-themed MP collection. I would have settled for a retool of Cheetor too, but Tigatron being a brand-new mold is very welcome news.

Of course now that we have Tigatron and Blackarachnia we have to have Airrazor and Silverbolt to "complete the set". Sorry, Rattrap, Waspinator, Rhinox, and all the rest, you're going to have to wait a few more years.

Yeah, optimus was kinda tiny in the show, it just didn't always come across, due to where characters may have been in the 3d space of the scene

Can't say I've really seen anyone complain about that, if anything the two things haven't really sunken in together yet. His lower price probably has a lot to do with most of the engineering already being worked out and the likelihood that he wont come with the tons of accessories that Dinobot came with and probably no electronics.

I'd call it unfortunately. Not that I would say they're on the same level, but people did say the same thing about Lio Convoy. Never know, they might throw us a bone someday.

The difference is, Silverbolt isn't a Convoy. Not forgetting a large part of the design team at HasTak and the fanbase, do have a fetish for all things that share that aesthetic. A shared stance with 3P also. They barely touch Beast Era as it is, but if it isn't a Megatron or Optimus, they're not interested either.
As for a potential MP Transmetal line, the scale of a Season Two cast, relative to their Season One counterparts, would be too cost prohibitive EG TM Megatron is at least twice his Season One size and Rampage towers over that.

In only one of two modes. As I mentioned in that thread, for the MASTERPIECE line they should look really good in both and from all sides. Otherwise how are can they be considered part of this line?

The size differences aren’t nearly that severe. TM Megatron is scarcely taller than his season one form. He’s mostly just bulkier in the shoulders. TM OP is taller and larger than his season one body, but he’s still smaller than season one Megatron. Tarantulas definitely gets bigger, but he’s still around the size of Rhinox. Even Silverbolt doesn’t get any larger than that. Then of course you have Quickstrike and Ravage you are small.
With the exception of Rampage in season two, it’s really only season three where you get truly huge characters like Optimal Optimus, TM2 Megatron, TM2 Dinobot (he’s large, but still smaller than Rampage), Tigerhawk, and Depthcharge.
So while I’d say that the season three cast is right out, season two cast is perfectly doable, without exceeding the price points we’ve already seen in the last two years.
As for Tigatron himself I’m ecstatic that he isn’t a simple redeco, or a minor retool. It’s a relief to know that he’s actually going to be taller than Cheetor, with what looks like some minor tweaks in terms of his transformation. The figure itself looks super slick

Ultimately, although I love Beast Wars, I am perfectly fine with them sticking with the original mandate of Season One only. If they stick with the current rate of release, it will be a complete set of 14 within the next few years. Something they are far from accomplishing with G1, if they ever do.

I just think it's about popularity. In Japan, season 1 of Beast Wars is by far the most popular, and the most iconic (as can be seen in the legends verse) so that's what we are getting.

Sabrblade wrote:Yeah, unfortunately, Seasons 2 and 3 tanked in Japan. The Transmetals flopped over there.
Indeed. No doubt that is the reality behind the mandate. Personally I think all the Transmetal designs are infinitely superior to their Season One counterparts. In particular, Megatron, Rattrap and Tarantulas. Now would I like to see the TM's make it into the MP line? Yes. I'd love to see Rampage and Depthcharge, albeit significantly less top-heavy. Plus - the wish list - I'd really want to see TM Terrorsaur, Waspinator, Airazor and Rhinox stand beside their prior counterparts. No doubt a show bible did exist to upscale those characters for Season Two.
But I can live with a complete set for at least one series.
As I have previously hoped for though, (barring redecos of these molds) should the line end with Season One, I'd love a nod to these guys in MP form.
Despite never being depicted onscreen, Beast Wars did start with them and I think it would be a fitting way to end the line.

I wouldn't. The transmetal line was really special by being the very first time ever in Transformers history where the toys and the on screen models were a match. The appeal of an MP is to have something we never had before, a perfect representation of the character, but we have all that here. To me, an MP might even mess things up by over complicating the brilliance of the initial toy designs.
The only toy out of the bunch which I feel needs a redo is Tigerhawk, since it was the only one that wasn't show accurate. But he only had 5 mins of screen time in an unpopular show so... we'll see.

Know the possibility is slightly heightened by his redeco potential.

Indeed. That accuracy was the strength of the Transmetal line. Only Rattrap and Rampage would need minor tweaks to be show accurate. Yet much like the Fuzors, the ones I'd be most interested in seeing in the MP line, were not in the show.
Silverbolt and Quickstrike were both the worst characters in Beast Wars and the least interesting Fuzor designs. I'd love to see a fully realised Air Hammer, Sky Shadow or Injector. Much like the rest of the non-show base line. Or even the two Gestalts.

All of them, there was not a single thing i disliked about Tigerhawk and his screentime

On the Silverbolt angle I strongly disagree, he is one of my favorite Beast Wars characters.
with Lio Convoy, and with Raiden coming, i am hopeful for a MP Magnaboss

The listing also has a list of accessories and official images. It is amazing to think that the images of the robot mode below are of the actual toy and not the CG model. The mold is completely new, and the beast mode seems to suffer less than Cheetor's in terms of visible robot mode kibble.
The accessory list can be found below. The one that stood out to me most was the Megatron head cube puzzle, which we can also see in the images.
Set contents Tigatron (Beast Wars) body (1 ), Tiger Shot (1), Tiger Cannon (1), Hacking Device (1), Replacement Face (Angry) (1), Replacement Face (Sadness) (1), Replacement Face (Surprise) (1) ), Replacement face (hacking) (1), Megatron cube puzzle (1), Stand adapter (1), Instruction manual (1), Character card (1)

It's not attached to his chest. It's the virtual cube puzzle Tigatron had to solve when he hacked into the Preds' base to learn about the alien Golden Disk in "Before the Storm".Rodimus Knight wrote:It's been a while since I've watched Beast Wars, but what episode is being referenced with Megatons head attached to Tigatron's chest?

It's from the season 1 episode "Before the Storm." Tigatron is sent to infiltrate the Predacon base to gather intelligence. Once inside, he uses that purple cable thing to hook himself up to a computer terminal, allowing him to navigates his way through the Predacon systems via a virtual reality type setup. It's in that virtual reality that he comes across a representation of Megatron's jumbled up face, which he then solves in order to access Megatron's secret files.
