There is an interesting test shot that has shown up on
AC Toys of Generations Fall of Cybertron Grimlock. What makes this test shot interesting is the fact that it features a different head that is very reminiscent of Beast Wars Megatron. Could we have a Beast Wars Megatron remold in store for the future? Perhaps even a small step into Generations Beast Wars toys?

CBR just posted an article covering Activision's SDCC 2012 Transformers: Fall of Cybertron panel, which featured voice actors Peter Cullen, Nolan North, and Gregg Berger. During the panel North mentions working with Cullen and Berger on both Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Transformers Prime. As usual this should be taken with the normal grain of salt until officially confirmed, but IDW did announce a Dinobot tie-in comic for Transformers Prime season three and Grimlock, who Berger is famous for voicing, is a very high profile character at the moment thanks to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Will Berger be joining Transformers Prime? If so, will he voice Grimlock or an all new character?
The full article can be found by clicking
here.
Berger spoke about voicing Grimlock, stating in the Dinobot's voice that he was "driven by aggression!" Without any filters to get in the way, Grimlock's strength has a great capacity, even if it's slightly out of his control. Berger thought it was incredible role for an actor to play. He also did a little bit of "Me king!" in Grimlock voice, much to the delight of the crowd, while explaining what a great ally he was to the Autobots team.
North, the iconic voice of Nathan Drake from the "Uncharted" games, explained how much fun it was voicing both Autobot (Cliffjumper) and Decepticon (Bruticus), changing tones for each character. He jokingly poked at Berger in his Bruticus voice, similar to his Grimlock role. He also felt honored to watch Berger and Cullen work, both on this project and the animated "Transformers Prime" series.

We've had a lot of rumors this month, and another one has come out of the pipes. While rumors tend to bring happiness along with them, this one has the opposite effect. We regretfully inform everyone that Hasbro might have just shut down the
Transformers Animated toy line for good. As reported by
TFormers, one of their members got a response from Hasbro in regards to Transformers Animated inquiries. This was the response.
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. regarding the Transformers Animated Blackout and Thundercracker. We appreciate your interest in our company and products.
Regrettably, both products have recently been discontinued. We are, therefore, unable to assist you in identifying retail markets which may still have this product in inventory nor do we have any available for direct sale.
Although they are no longer in our current product line, you may still be able to find them in retail stores. Some of the retail stores that carry Hasbro products include Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, Kmart, and Target.
We apologize for any inconvenience. We hope you and your family will enjoy Hasbro products for many years to come.
Now what exactly does this mean for us? Animated has been discontinued since the spring of 2009. The remaining figures we were anticipating were meant to be store exclusives, much like Toys 'R' Us with Arcee and Cybertron Mode Ratchet. Does this also mean that the presumed store exclusives have been discontinued?
The remaining Hasbro Animated figures are listed below.
Thundercracker
Blackout
Rodimus Minor
Ironhide
Vortex Blurr
Fugitive Waspinator
Wingblade Optimus Prime
Toxic Oil Slick
Mudbuster Bulkhead
Hydrodive Bumblebee
Golfire Grimlock
Whether there is truth to this rumor or simply a misunderstanding, we'll be the first ones to update everyone on the official confirmation. What's your opinion on the situation? Feel free to sound off your opinion in the Energon Pub!

Masterpiece Transformers news has been on our minds recently. With the new images of the
Black Convoy repaint of
Masterpiece Prime, and the upcoming release of the Grimlock special edition (comic colors), fans are trying to guess the future of the Masterpiece line.
An interview with the designer of the upcoming Revenge of the Fallen 'Buster Prime', Hirinori Kobayashi, shares some insight into the design process, designers not always being happy with what the company ends up producing, and a possible hint at what the next Masterpiece figure is.
"He (referring to Hirinori) was in charge of all Masterpiece products, except for MP-3. He again hints of the new MP next year 2010, which has a significance to Transformers. ("2010" is s Japanese title for G1 season 3.)"
You can read the rest of the translated interview at
Tformers.com, and come on back over to discuss what you think this clue leads to in the 'hunt for the next masterpiece figure'.
My guess...

New release date:

Grimlock & Dinasour (Trypticon) mouse - 28 November 2009
USB Hub Soundblaster - 19 December 2009

Rumors of the current status of the Transformers Animated cartoon have been flying around the net like wildfire, and
as we reported here, the Goldfire Grimlock and Hydro Dive Bumblebee voyagers have been cancelled. Now there’s rumors that the entire
Transformers Animated toy line may be seeing it’s last days at retail.
TFVanguard, a poster
at TFArchive said this:
Both the local Targets and local Wal*Marts (Colorado Springs, CO) have marked the Transformers: Animated line as canceled and won't be stocking up any new figures for it past what has already shipped. That means that the March/April waves won't be showing up at all in these stores.
Oddly, Universe seems to be continuing even as the seasonal reset makes a ton of room for the Revenge figures beginning to surface.
Unfortunately, the Hasbro rep checking the Wal*Mart aisles didn't really know what to make of the changes, as she knew about upcoming figures, but also confirmed that retailers were 'dumping' the Animated line.
This would also make it seem that retailers have more interest in the upcoming Transformers Revenge of The Fallen toy line, and do not wish to have old stock lingering on shelves when it comes out.
Additionally, Wal*Mart.com has their exclusive
Transformers Animated value sets along with more Transformers Animated products currently on clearance at ridiculous mark downs. Coincidence? It would seem unlikely.
Is Transformers Animated over, and what is the fate of the Animated Arcee figure
shown at Toy Fair? Discuss this and more in
The Energon Pub forums.

Well folks, throw on your hard had and lets take a trip to the Rumor Mill.
Sparkplug of
SGCollect has some information that should be shared with everyone.
Confirmed: MP-08 Grimlock 13000 Yen
ETA: March 2009
The other rumor is that the next in the Alternity line is Destron Leader Megatron featuring Nissan Fairlady Z. This figure, like Convoy, comes in two colors. Silver and Blue.
No date or price range is given and I'm sure more that one fan wants the Nissan Fairlady Z mold, if true, to be Prowl, Streak and Smokescreen.
So what do you, the fan think? Is this true, or like the title says, just a rumor?

Pictures of two new, so far as yet unmentioned repaints have been posted by
ACToys user Comus.
These repaints are of the recently released Optimus Prime and Megatron from the Classics Ultimate Battle two-pack. Both repaints are more faithful to their G1 selves, but that is not the only difference for these figures.
The packaging features black and white art of the characters on matte black boxes, more alike to the recently released Music Label Soundwave and Frenzy Rumble, than anything previously seen in the Classics/Universe line.
Silver text on the boxes indicate that these two figures are "Transformers Universe Special Edition 01" and "Transformers Universe Special Edition 02".
To add further intrigue, both boxes preview yet another character to be released in this "Special Edition" series, "SE-03 Dragstip (a repaint of Classics Mirage), and SE-04 Overkill (a repaint of Classics Grimlock), both in similar black and white character art.
