ELMO, ELEFUN BUSY BALL POPPER toys and the NERF VORTEX VIGILON Blaster among its “Fabulous 15” selections of the best of the best toys available this holiday season. Additionally, The World’s Greatest Toy Store® named the TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME Action Figure among its overall list of 36 hot toys.

According to the Hollywood Reporter Hasbro is reporting a 10% increase in third-quarter profits with the Transformers brand being "a major contributor" to that growth. That in itself is great news, but there's more! During a conference call on Monday Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner stated they are in active discussions with Paramount, director Michael Bay, and Steven Spielberg for a possible fourth Transformers film! Goldner went on to state he hopes to have more news to share in the next quarter.

With respect to TRANSFORMERS, we currently believe full year revenue for the brand will be between the levels reported during the past 2 movie years, specifically between the $482 million we reported in 2007 and $592 million reported in 2009. This is in line with our original 2011 plans. And despite beginning the year with carryforward inventory, TRANSFORMERS has been a major contributor to our revenue growth during the year, posting strong shipments and point-of-sale gains versus last year, with the year-over-year point-of-sale trends improving since the movie launch.

Given this was the third movie that focus on the same core cast of characters, we did not have the same collector pounce at product launch that we had in past years. However, the broad global consumer base has responded to the movie and trends have improved. In several markets, including several mature markets, TRANSFORMERS shipments year-to-date are up in the triple digits year-over-year, and point-of-sale in many countries during0 the third quarter was also up greater than 100%. On September 30, the Blu-Ray DVD was released, which helps to continue the momentum in the brand and serves as another opportunity to engage with our TRANSFORMERS consumers.

Yes. We do have a couple of movies from Marvel that have already been announced in Iron Man 3 and Thor 2. As you imagine, with the success of a franchise like TRANSFORMERS, we're in active discussions with our great partners at Paramount with Michael Bay, with Steven Spielberg and our writer to talk about what's next on TRANSFORMERS. And hopefully, I'll have some more news to share with you in the next quarter.

As with the blockbuster original, this epic invasion will spread throughout the IDW-verse and into many fan-favorite titles. With INFESTATION 2, tentacled Lovecraftian “Old Ones” reach across time and space and threaten to destroy everyone everywhere and everywhen.

“Last year, we were just figuring out how to do a monstrous event for the first time,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief. “This year, we’re going to build on the monstrous part, both in terms of story, titles affected and the threat itself. So people can expect a bigger event here, with lots of legs. Well, tentacles, anyway. Coming in January, the kick off issue, INFESTATION 2 #1, will be written by best-selling novelist and comic-book writer Duane Swierczynski and feature art by INFESTATION/INFESTATION: OUTBREAK artist David Messina. This gripping issue sets the stage for Lovecraft’s “Old Ones” to break through time and space and invade many titles, including TRANSFORMERS, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS, and a special fifth-week one-shot, INFESTATION: TEAM-UP, featuring Bat Boy and GROOM LAKE’s grey alien Archibald in February. Then in March, the Infestation spreads even further, infecting TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES and G.I. JOE. In April, vampires battle zombies in 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: INFESTATION, followed by the stunning closing issue, INFESTATION 2 #2.

Joining Swierczynski and Messina on covers for INFESTATION 2 #1 and #2 will be Alex Garner and Livio Ramondelli. INFESTATION 2 #1 will also feature unique temporary tattoos.

Hasbro has just recently renewed their Trademarks for the name Buzzsaw and Tankor according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. It was speculated a while back that the DOTM Laserbeak repaint/remold revealed in Laserbeak's instructions would indeed be Buzzsaw. This filing could give credence to that story.

The question now remains what Hasbro might be planning to do with Tankor? Is Hasbro just keeping the name available? Perhaps a new toy? What are some of your ideas?

The CHAOS storyline will introduce a character that is being called a "Deceptigod". IDW editor John Barber describes the character as, "the ultimate version of [Transformers 'Combiners'] with all the Sweeps, all the Decepticons forming together into one enormous Transformer".

The previously announced one-shot Transformers #125, which would celebrate 125 issues of IDW continuity, has been officially renamed "The Death Optimus Prime". The issue was renamed to avoid unnecessary confusion. It will be co-written by Barber and Roberts with art by Roche. The two covers by Roche and Ramondelli were also revealed. The Roche cover has Optimus Prime opening the Matrix to reveal Cybertron. The Ramondelli cover is a tribute to Bill Sienkewicz's cover to Marvel's original "Transformers" #1.

Lastly they discuss the post "Death of Optimus Prime" era, in which two new titles will launch. "More Than Meets the Eye", written by Roberts and penciled by Roche, and "Robots in Disquise", written by Barber and penciled by Griffith. No additional information on these titles other than Barber and Roberts will be working closely with one another. This era will also introduce an third non-aligned faction of civilian Transformers.
