- And I'm the other one. Tonight we bring you a special report on Decahex, and the increasing levels of violence in the region that may or may not be as a result of the collapse of Cybertrons last remaining energon mine. We now pass you over to Hazard, our expendable reporter who we only send to the really dangerous places:
did I do to deserve this? Last time I sign anything Psychout tells me t-*Gah! That was close!* What?? Oh, I'm here on the outskirts of Decahex mine 4 which, until last week, was the last remaining active mine on Cybertron. Accident investigators have now fled the scene, but their initial findings point to a deliberate act of sabota*AAARGH!!*. Phew. Despite the mines extensive security and the region being demilitarised many centuries ago it is certainly clear that whoever was able to get in here had high level clearance and good knowledge of explosives. Naturally, both factions want to ensure that whatever remains of the mines ore is taken for their purposes and so there has been fierce fighting all over the zone with many casualties, mostly accident investigators. Outposts from both factions have now called for reinforcements and the way tensions are escalating it would appear- *WOAH!! that was too close! Someone tell these idiots to stop shooting at u-* Ahem. Now, nowhere is safe in this region. Both factions have fortified various entrances to the mine and have dug in deep in preparation and are heavily armed. It is going to be a long battle, and *HEY! WATCH IT, JOURNALIST!!*
...I'm getting the hell out of here!
- Hazard there, reporting bravely from a long way way behind the front lines.
- With the destruction of Mine 4, most supply routes across Cybertron have been heavily disrupted so we decided to check in on Iacon's barracks, where various Autobot commanders have reported in after last weekends neural upgrade request. We now go live to Prowl as he gives his soldiers another briefing on the situation...
As you all know, the field test will in Decahex next week and these units will be fitted in the next few days. You will relieve the security and investigation teams, allowing them to establish exactly who is responsible for the mines destruction, hopefully by recovering the real security tapes and not the faked one those idiots at WarPorn News have been broadcasting. No one here thinks it's a coincidence that only a 'senator' would have access to the mine schemat
- Ah, we'll just leave that there.
- And finally, we have a statement from Starscream, who has taken time out from his usual deliveries to bring us this message:
Decepticons, you have 4 days left to to upgrade your Neural Scanners before we head out to take what's left of Decahex for the Decepticon empire. I don't need to tell you how important this mine is to our cause. So remember, Megatron does not tolerate failure and neither shall I!
- So there you have it - 4 days left to report in for the upgrade, and reinforcements will be deployed in a week. Hmmm. Does any one here think that not broadcasting all these details publicly might prevent a lot of the bloodshed and violence or could maybe help bring peace to our crippled planet?
Ain't it Cool News is giving away 5 copies of the awesome Transformers Trilogy soundtrack!
Scorekeeper from AintItCoolNews.com wrote:Greetings! ScoreKeeper here giving out a little heavy metal in time for the holidays. This will probably be my last CD giveaway of 2011 so I hope you take advantage of it.
London Music Works (along with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra) in connection with Silva Screen Records has been releasing new performance compilation albums for quite some time now. Just a few months ago I gave away copies of their James Horner and Hans Zimmer compilation albums. This time I've got Steven Jablonsky at the plate hitting a triple with music from the three TRANSFORMERS films.
On this album are sixteen tracks featuring six from TRANSFORMERS (2007), another six from TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN (2009) and four tracks from TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON (2011).
These are really good performances by London Music Works conducted by James Fitzpatrick that rivals the original recording. As a rule, I'm going to partial toward the original score recordings over any re-recording but I have to say there's a depth and clarity in these recordings that I really like. I thought the originals get pretty muddy most of the time. The chorus sounds great and the electronics are deemphasized a little more than in the original recordings.
For the last giveaway of the year I've got five copies of MUSIC FROM THE TRANSFORMERS TRILOGY Performed by the London Music Works on CD to give to loyal AICN readers.
So what do you have to do?
Just send me an email to scorekeeper@aintitcool.com using the subject: TRANSFORM THE HOLIDAYS! and include your name, mailing address, a valid email address, and either your favorite or least favorite moment of any of the three TRANSFORMERS films. Which ever fires up the most passion in you.
I'll then take all the entires transform them into numbers and blindly pick five at random. Those five chosen will receive this great compilation CD courtesy of Silva Screen Records. The deadline for submission is Sunday, December 11th, at 11:59pm EST. Only one entry per person. International entries will be accepted. Duplicates will be discarded.
That's it! Get your entries in today. I'll be announcing the winners a day or two after the contest closes. Good luck!
29 year old Marcus Goh won a USS sponsored contest in order participate in the official opening of Transformers The Ride, at Universal Studios, Singapore. The contest asked fans to "pledge their allegiance" by entering pictures that featured an Autobot insignia. Goh arranged all of his red Transformers against a black backdrop to form the recognizable symbol. A lifelong fan and collector, with a very respectable 500 plus figure collection, Marcus was as excited as any fan would be about the event saying "I was psyching myself up (for today) listening to the Transformers soundtrack on the way to work, in the gym and all over the place,". Congratulations Marcus!
The winners will be contacted via email and will receive the Blu-Ray + DVD Combo directly from our friends at Paramount.

After several delays in picking a winner for last month's Seibertron.com/Geek To Me "Transformers Headmasters DVD Set" Sweepstakes (thanks to Comic-Con, a flood, and other craziness the end of July spawned), we have finally chosen a winner for this contest. Without further ado, we chose fellow Seibertronian Daddycon who shared the following favorite memory from his childhood which involved Transformers:
Daddycon wrote:My favorite memory would have to be the large Transformer battles my father and I had during the early days of Generation 1 (these replaced the Star Wars battles we used to have before Transformers came out). Most Saturday mornings would involve a big Autobot / Decepticon smackdown with one of us eventually pulling out my large Shogun Warrior (Getter Dragon) to wipe out the other side. This scenario now plays out between me and my 5-year-old son (and my wife) who has inherrited my G1 / G2 collections (along with various pieces from Beast Wars through Animated and the Bayverse). My father still joins both of us extending the fun across three generations. I get to relive my childhood, my father gets to be a kid again, and we pass the fun along to my son. Robots are cool in and of themselves, but the family bonding they have created in my family has been priceless.
This contest was merely about striking a chord with us. To me, Daddycon's memory is the epitome of what a hobby like this should be about. As a father of a 2 year old, I can tell you that there is a simple amazement that happens when you watch your child play with a Transformers toy and discover the joy of turning it back and forth between a robot and a car (thank you Hasbro for Playskool's Rescue Bots Bumblebee). Daddycon's memory also hit home with me because I remember the big battles my Grandma Betty and I used to have when I was a little kid. I would spend hours and hours setting up the battle landscape with Autobots on her side (she thought Optimus Prime was a "beautiful red truck" and liked Blurr because her initials were BLR) and Decepticons on mine. She somehow always "won".
Daddycon will be receiving a copy of Shout Factory's Transformers Headmasters DVD set, courtesy of our friends at Chicago RedEye's Geek To Me. Congrats again Daddycon!
