I never understood how they lost the copyright to Octane or any character they owned in the 80's for that matter. This is why I dont respect copyrights. They got sold to people who are probally dead by now and the paperwork is sitting in a box in someone's garage. In the DOTM line explain why Skids offical name is "Autobot Skids" but Mudflap does not have the word "Autobot" on the packaging ??? I think that is retarded.

Certain words are deemed to be "too common" to Trademark, hence why Jazz, Skids, Tracks et al. have to have "Autobot..." in front of their name on the toys.
Marvel also has a character named Skids. Hasbro might have trademarked Autobot Skids to prevent any legal wrangling.
