Thanks to consistently accurate leaker Jtprime17, by way of our own Seibertronian EvasionModeBumblebee, we have a list of what may be all of the Studio Series retail releases for 2025. No, that's not a typo, it's the end of February 2024 and we already know what's coming out next year. Once the shock wears off there's some really interesting things listed here. For one we seem to be going back to the Bayverse movies in a pretty big way! Hatchet seems to have found a new home after the Target release was canceled, Que is finally getting a new figure, Age of Extinction Optimus Prime is getting updated at last and the Stinger mold might be coming back with a retool as the unused concept fembot "Widow Maker".
Gamer Edition is continuing with the expected Starscream repaints and Ironhide. Studio Series 86 looks to be giving us the first four members of the Constructicons in a mix of Voyagers and Deluxes (the rest will surely be coming in 2026), and package refreshes of Grimlock, Perceptor and Jazz. We've also got a few listings for TF:One, Rise of the Beasts and another A Level Optimus Prime.
Full list can be seen below and be sure to discuss it in the Energon Pub forums!

We knew the Transformers One film was an origin story to the eventual conflict between Optimus and Megatron but we didn't know it would be an origin story to them actually being Transformers. Someone who attended the China Licensing Expo reported on seeing the teaser for Transformers One and posted it on Baidu. The translation is below and it may not be 100% accurate (for instance, the word 'dream' seems inacurate). And remember, this is just the words of one person who claims they were there.
“On the afternoon of the 16th, I attended the [China Licensing Expo]. I was fortunate to see some news about next year’s animated blockbuster movie, 'Transformers One'. The key highlight was the release of a teaser, which couldn’t be recorded on the spot. From memory, I sketched the appearances of the two main characters. However, please note that these sketches are based solely on my recollection, and the actual appearance might differ, so I recommend waiting for the teaser.
It seems that the details of the movie are still being kept under wraps. According to the people from [the expo], they only received the teaser yesterday. The plot is expected to revolve around the love, hate, and rivalry between Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Elita, as well as their journey to obtaining the Transformation Cog. Initially, they have a hollow space in their chests, as depicted in my drawings. After acquiring the Transformation Cog, their chest designs will change. In the middle to later stages, they gain the ability to transform, and their initial incomplete forms appear in various humorous and bizarre shapes. They can transform into vehicles like trucks, tanks, sports cars, and motorcycles.
Characters such as Shockwave, Soundwave, and Starscream are also introduced, but at that time, they are not yet enemies. Everything appears to be reminiscent of the beginning of a dream. The movie is produced by Industrial Light & Magic, the studio responsible for Transformers 1-5, so the quality should be good.
The overall character designs are more rounded compared to the previous posters, and it might take some getting used to for everyone. I’ve never seen character designs quite like these, so they are somewhat unique. For example, Alpha Trion (translation not clear) appears to be more elemental, like a mix of stone and vegetation, which is very different from the usual Cybertronian designs. Sentinel (translation not clear) is blue, and I don’t have a clear impression of other characters.”
Big day for Transformers fans thanks to the reveals at Cinemacon. Not only did we get a new trailer and a mega reveal, but we also have all the big name actors who will be lending their voices to the Transformers characters in next year's animated film. We also learnt this film's name, it will be called Transformers One. We got this info from Aaron Couch who attended the event. It is supposedly meant to be a general prequel to the live action films all seen as Bayverse but we'll need further clarification on that.
Here is the full cast:
Chris Hemsworth – Optimus Prime
Brian Tyree Henry – Megatron
Scarlett Johansson – Elita
Keegan-Michael Key – Bumblebee
Jon Hamm – Sentinel Prime
Laurence Fishburne – Alpha Trion
And yes, it seems Elita 1 is being renamed Elita, but once again we will need further clarification.

Thanks to regular reviewer and Seibertronian PrimeVsPrime, we have two video reviews to bring to you today, those of Studio Series Voyager Class figures Sentinel Prime and Scrapper! These two are due in the next wave of Studio Series figures, and PrimeVsPrime takes a look at them both in detail. While we did post video reviews of these a few days ago, today's reviews are in English. On with the show(s)!
What do you all think? Are you looking forward to these two figures? Do these reviews along with the Chinese-language reviews from a couple of days ago whet your appetite for some more Studio Series goodness? Let us know what you think below!
Fellow Seibertronian Actar found Transformers Studio Series Sentinel Prime and Scrapper at the BHG Bugis outlet in Singapore. He was even kind enough to take some images and make a write a review for us, which you can find right here:
Here's my review for Sentinel in the event anyone's interested!
Ooh boy. This one's going to be a tough review! To preface it, I'm going to come clean and say that I'm absolutely in love with the DOTM Leader Class figure from way, way back. It's one of the last few great Transformers toys with a transformation scheme that rivals the now-legendary ROTF Leader Prime. The way the windshield just collapses into his chest? That's a slice of fried gold right there.
That's not to say that it didn't have its fair share of issues. As biased as I am, I'm not delusional. For one, it suffered from a rather severe backpack thanks to the batteries that were required for his electronic lights and sounds, there were a ton more panels hanging off his back than just his cape, and his non-faux chest is way too large.
All these years later, we finally have a new Sentinel figure in the SS line. Can the SS figure topple the Leader and take its place as the definitive Sentinel figure? Let's find out.
Since we're here, let's start off with robot mode. The SS figure does indeed address and fix a number of the problems with the Leader Class figure. Without a battery box, the backpack is drastically reduced. However, the other fixes do come with their own compromises. Firstly, the chest. Yes, it is far, far more accurate and proportional, but you lose the amazing bit of transformation engineering and all of that kibble gets relegated to his butt. Credit where credit is due, it's worthy to note that they at least placed the real windows behind the faux ones ala the Beast Wars MPs and their animal heads. Secondly, they were able to minimize the number of superfluous panels by turning a couple of them into his swords. Rather ingenious idea, but the swords end up really wonky looking from one side and they cannot be stored in robot mode.
All in all, however, bot mode is great. Proportion-wise, it's spot on. (Boxy chest from some angles aside) he looks far more accurate than any Sentinel Prime figure before him with the only real, obvious kibble being the butt windshield the ladders on the side of the legs. The amount of molded detail is also insane. While paint would have gone a long, long way in bringing out all of that detail, it's also rather unfortunate that he's mainly cast in a all black plastic. It's not as dark as what most pictures will have you believe, the black plastic does mask a ton of that detail. It's also really unfortunate that while the Studio Series line excels in terms of molded detail, it lacks in terms of transformation detail. In my opinion, there are way too few transformation steps that are purely for the sake of maintaining accuracy. One obvious example would be the two wheels on the insides of Sentinel's legs instead of just the one.
In terms of articulation, there are problems. His head articulation is horrendous with minimal ability to look even left and right. The ankles don't move side to side either. The waist joint can indeed rotate somewhat, but it can come undone way too easily. At least the transformation joint at the waist can be used as a means to achieve a crazy waist twist. The only other thing that gets in the way of the posing is the fact that his chest is angled downwards due to the transformation. What this means is that if you want him to stand straight with his chest held high, he'll be constantly looking upwards at an awkward angle.
Still, the figure is articulated enough to pretty much pull of almost any pose you want him in.
The last major complaint relating to his poses is that, yes, his shield is missing. One of the most iconic aspects of his character... gone. Urgh. Perhaps they wanted to reduce the cost or perhaps they weren't able to find a way for him to store it in vehicle mode, like how the Leader could. Regardless, this severely limits his posing potential.
Speaking of vehicle mode, the transformation process to it borrows heavily from the Leader but is streamlined to make it more simple but yet almost just as satisfying. The only really annoying part is the fact that the back of the vehicle mode takes a ton of effort to stay pegged together. I'm not sure if it's because the pegs lack friction or that the tolerances aren't as precise as they should have been, but it takes a ton of massaging on my copy to get those back panels to stay together.
As for the vehicle mode itself, it's a boxy firetruck. The only nitpick that I have is the fact that, compared to the Leader figure, it appears to be way too long and thin. I'm not 100% sure which figure is more accurate, but the Leader figure's vehicle mode does seem to be better proportioned.
IN CONCLUSION!
If you're a fan of Sentinel Prime and want a version of him to scale with your other SS figures and are okay with all the (admittedly relatively minor) issues I noted, there's really no reason not to pick this guy up. There're no deal-breaking QC or design flaws and they genuinely did a really decent job of representing the character in the SS line even with all the constraints that come with it. Of course, that might be due to his inherently shellformerish design, but he fairs far better than some of the Deluxes with their entire roofs hanging off their back.
Coming back to the question that I posed at the beginning of the review. Is he a replacement for the DOTM Leader figure?
...not by a long shot! (^o^)
No review (yet), but some images of Scrapper as well!
Thanks to Youtube reviewers Kevin Liu and Ton Ton, we now have video reviews for upcoming Transformers Studio Series leader Overload, voyager Sentinel Prime and voyager Scrapper.
The Overload review is in English while the other two are in Chinese.
The voyagers are meant to be coming out soon since they have an April release date from online stores. That particular wave will also feature a repackaged Mixmaster.
Overload is set to come out between June and August, depending on the retailer.
We thank fellow Seibertronian MadProject for letting us know of all these reviews.
Thanks to the Facebook page TFND - Transformers Never Die, we have a ton of brand new images to share with you today of the upcoming Transformers Studio Series Sentinel Prime.
This new Sentinel Prime figure is a brand new voyager class mold, and is based on the characters appearance in the Dark of the Moon film from 2011. The traitorous Autobot is shown off in all his traitorous glory, complete with his sword, but no shield or cosmic rust cannon. We also see that his sword can split to become 2 different handheld units, or combine together to form his Darth Maul-esque sword. We also get a comparison with the Powered up version of Studio Series Optimus Prime and Jetfire.
You can check out some of the images below, and follow the above link or click any of the images below to check out the full gallery. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
Thanks to Dengeki Hobby, we have some brand new images to show you today of the upcoming Transformers Studio Series Offroad Bumblebee and Sentinel Prime!
Offroad Bumblebee is a brand new mold deluxe class figure, and is based on the Jeep form Bumblebee temporarily took at the beginning of the Bumblebee movie. He faithfully recreates his appearance from that film, and transforms into a pretty nice little yellow Jeep. Here we get a look at him in a couple poses, showing that not only can be move, but he also has a pretty tight backpack, keeping barely any kibble on his body.
We also get our best look yet at Sentinel Prime, the main villain from Dark of the Moon, where he betrayed the Autobots and went insane trying to bring life back to his planet, at any cost. While we don't get any sort of look at him from behind, we do get a couple of poses out of him, as well as a look at his sword. Sadly, he does not come with a shield, though this means your Studio Series Ironhide can beat him up quicker.
Check out the images below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
We have images from the Hasbro Brand panel that was held at Toy Fair earlier today. After those images you can also see what was being discussed during the Transformers panel.
But before that, we also have some extra nuggets from Toy Fair. Below is an image of the upcoming retro handhelds from Hasbro as well as the trading cards on site. You can see more images of such here.
While not directly Transformers related, Hasbro is bringing GI Joe back. There will be some new 6 inch figures coming out soon with Roadblock, Scarlet, Duke and Snake Eyes.
Now Transformers!
The panel is introduced by Gregg Berger as Grimlock (and as himself).
Netflix Series
We see a sneak peek at the Netflix War for Cybertron trilogy from Rooster Teeth.
It is three parts and Siege takes place in the final hours of the Cybertronian civil war. This will be a military story, with incredible stakes and the bonds that form on the battlefield.
We see stills from the show where we can see Elita One and Bumblebee.
The character designs are taken from the CAD data of the toys, including their transformation.
The trailer is shown. We see Ultra Magnus, Optimus, basically everyone from the Siege line. They look the same as the Siege toys, as told. The animation does not seem as slow as the previous web series but still not smooth either.
We see the Siege rereleases in new decos that we saw earlier today. All will be sold at Walmart.
The Mirage we saw is a Deception disguise
Each figure comes with a piece of Teletran One and you have to collect all 10 figures to build it.
IDW
The new series will get to number 25 and Orion will finally be called Optimus Prime
Earthrise
This is about the journey to earth. A "story" never told before.
Most of the toys we saw in the leaks of the past 2 days are shown now.
Runumuk is shown first and Runabout will be revealed later this year.
Snapderagon and Double Dealer are part of the mercenaries fraction.
We do see Snapgradon's Kaiju mode. Doubledealer turns into a modular base as well.
3 Quintessons revealed.
The Judge which can switch faces with a switch in the back. Comes with a throne which becomes a battle station. The whole figure becomes a playset. A micromaster can go inside the little cage.
Alicon is there and we see Slither Fang who is a cobra that turns into a shield and modular ramp.
Sky Lynx is shown. Has all his 4 modes plus a 5th mode as a bade and the NASA logo is on the shuttle mode. The shuttle is called "the magnificence"
Scorponok is shown, he will be in scale with Fort Max. Great poseability and double headmaster. G1 base will connect to Omega Supreme and all the other modulars from Earthrise.
Generations Selects
This niche ecomm line was a success. There is a 4 pack cassette pack which will complete your cassettes and also give you Doubledealer's aprtners. Warden confirms the blue cassette is Frenzy.
Seibertron now has a whole gallery with fresh new images and views of the Hasbro Studio Series display from #HasbroToyFair 2020! Here we get clearer views of Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave, Sentinel Prime, Skipjack, Overload, Scrapper, Bumblebee Cliffjumper, Bumblebee Blitzwing, Topspin, and Devastator! Although there aren't as many offerings as the Earthrise line Studio Series fans will rejoice as Devastator will finally be complete. These are just a handful of images. You can go to the entire gallery here or click on any image to be brought there. And you can click here to see all the different galleries we have for Toy Fair 2020.
