Oddly enough I think the best picture is not on this post itself but on his instagram story

The orange is the only part that's right (aside from the absence on the Spider head). The Bio card shows orange, pale green and chrome. No purple. Also the opposite face is all chrome with a red visor.
Here's a better look of the original:Emerje wrote:Still very unhappy with the unused small wing clips on the sides of Vector Prime's legs.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Looks orange in that bio card art to me.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Sabrblade wrote:

There's only so much they can do with the mold and how the parts are laid out. Unlike the original toy but like the cartoon his crotch doesn't make the spider head so it's a different color and would have required a lot of paint. There is no chrome in the art and we do have a prototype figure to prove it.
Outside of that the only thing that's truly been changed is the head (sculpt and all). It's painted like the 10th Anniversary figure and probably done so you can swap it onto the Kingdom figure.

The bio artwork is reflective, so I say "chrome" although it is silver. Naturally I knew the figure this Legacy figure is referencing. Beast Wars being both my formative Transformers series and the toyline I took the most interest in.
I assume the Kingdom Spider Bot head doesn't vertically swivel to use both faces ala the OG figure?

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

You, sir, are sick and sadistic.
I wish I'd thought of it.

Pretty sure the one colour I mentioned the original figure didn't have was purple. So I don't know why we keep coming back to the silver?

Then why didn't they just use the Legacy Tarantulas head (as the original figure did) and paint that silver, with a red visor.
Not to mention that it was the cartoon that made his Mutant Head his default head. In the original toyline before the cartoon began, all of the Deluxe/Mega/Ultra toys had Mutant Heads that were treated more like battle masks while their normal robot heads were their true heads. This toy's head is based on the design of the original toy's true robot head, not the false Mutant Head.Emerje wrote:AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Emerje wrote:The actual figure that Sabr linked to used sparkly silver plastic which is basically what the new figure uses.

You also said it was chromed and then silver, I'm just pointing out that it wasn't metalized in anyway, it's just plastic.Emerje wrote:And no, the Kingdom figure doesn't have a changing head, hence the new head sculpt on the orange figure.

I already explained that, they gave him the head from the 10th Anniversary figure. Mostly likely done so people can use it as an alternate for the Kingdom figure. Let's be honest, an all silver head would have been boring. Realistically he should have come with two heads like previous 4 packs did.

when referring to the colour, chrome is described as being light and reflective, similar to silver or aluminium.

I didn't say it was chromed. I said it was chrome [the colour]:when referring to the colour, chrome is described as being light and reflective, similar to silver or aluminium.

It's not like they have done redecos based on the Mutant Masks before, eh?
Or ..used a "boring" silver head:
Almost as if there was precedent set by these redecos that they were ignoring with this one.
The design for "Orange" Tarantulas was set by the bio art. A redeco of Legacy Tarantulas would have been cheaper and more faithful than what they chose to do.
No, that's backwards. The toy was made first, so the bio art was based on it. The orange plastic was changed to purple after the bio art was based on the pre-purple orange version, just as Tigatron's bio art was based on the orange version of his toy before it was likewise changed from orange to cream white.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:The design for "Orange" Tarantulas was set by the bio art.

But not the other two since Sandstorm and Shadow Panther are both based on figures that were made and sold so it would be odd to change those now. Shadow Panther even got an MP.
The point alludes you. These redecos have been packaged with the Mutant Mask as the default face.

That's me corrected. Otherwise it would be quite embarrassing.
