I have this on pre-order, hope it's a good figure! I'm still a little hesitant about this toy (the deco is fine.)

To clarify for those curious, what was shown was a preliminary concept of Liokaiser from the 1980s made before his design was final way back then.Starsaber468 wrote:On a different popular transformer site i saw a post of a liokaiser concept art

Shame. Was hoping for a Nautica out of one of those. Maybe even a Nightbird or Thunderblast.

I roll mine around backwards like that. I just like it better.

Fun story. I gave his little squirt guns to Huffer and Cosmos. Scales well with Legends figures.

Combiner Hunters is a one-shot issue post-Combiner Wars. It will feature the fan-built combiner and has Arcee, Windblade, and Chromia sporting different color schemes.

I have seen Leader Megs of both versions just sitting around at retail here in Omaha. Although I haven't been out looking the last two weeks. I think this just isn't the season for big high dollar toys around here.

Same here in Louisiana. When he first hit shelves, he was gone immediately. Now he and especially his Cross Colours self is keeping UM's seat warm.

It's kind of a shame, because after getting both, I actually like Armada Megs more than the G1 version. He's a more dynamic looking figure.
I know some folks have complained that his cannon isn't faithful to the original toy, but come on, the side cannon was absurd.

It's the still-very-G1 chest that I don't like. And the solid orange horns.MrBlack wrote:carytheone wrote:Cobotron wrote:chuckdawg1999 wrote:Something tells me the Takara Megatron will be easier to find

Why is it a shame? Because you bought them both. Nobody is hatin' on you for liking what you like.

A shame because I think he's a nice looking figure that more people aren't enjoying. Having a G1 Megatron as your wave and mold mate isn't exactly going to help sales.

I was disappointed by the horns, especially since he has a different head deco on the back of the box.

I see. Your probably right. For me, I just can't justify both. Plus I just really like my OG Armada Megs. (although I agree with your previous statement about the side canon.)MrBlack wrote:A shame because I think he's a nice looking figure that more people aren't enjoying.

It is indeed quiet hard to find the difference if you are not really looking for one. Unless your monitor is super HD, uploaded images don't always show/reflect what a product actually looks like in reality. Using the same logic with Tomy Sandstorm over the Hasbro version. In pictures, the Tomy version look too much orange when in hand it was not.

I noticed right away. It matters to me, so it's really no one's place to say the differences are insignificant if I find them to be so.

Not enough to buy the "Armada" version though. No one seems to be going for that one. I bet if they just replaced the silly Armada head with the G1 head, then the Armada deco would start selling.

More like it would have been re-purposed as the G2 Megatron (remember him?) Or BWII Megastrom if they followed that route.........which....Tomy might possible do given the investment on the mold.

I understand you 100000%. I'm usually the biggest stickler for accuracy. But for some reason THIS Megatron doesn't bother me. Maybe it's because he'll essentially be a stand alone figure for me, therefor doesn't need to conform to the my exact vision of accuracy.megatronus wrote:MaverickPrime wrote:I understand those who pefer G1 accuracy, but come on guys, it's just a liiiiiiittle less red, mostof it on places you don't even see at first glance! Classics Megatron? I bought 3 times. Hasbro, Henkei, then United. THAT was a quest for perfection.

I get ya. But now that I have seen the differences, and knowing that Legends Megatron is only going to be a couple dollars more than the Hasbro version (6000 Yen at HLJ = $50 USD), I don't get why people are coming down on folks who prefer the Takara version. It's not like I've come down on the Hasbro version too hard. Heck, I mentioned above that I bought the only one I ever saw in person, just because he's so damn awesome.
At the end of the day, I just don't want people criticizing my purchase due to "insignificant" or "minor" differences when it's my dollar to spend, and when the term "insignificant" is ultimately subjective.

Ha! I've been on the quest for UN-09 for the last few months. I had him once, something like 4 years ago, but sold him. He wasn't Megatron enough for me (at the time).
But now that we have a good number of G1-deco Megatrons, I really want that guy, just so he can stand in with the other version I've got in-hand. He's tough to track down, though!

Another thing....this is the Takara Tomy thread and talking trash against it. There's the CW leader thread for the praises on CW Megs (another awesome incarnation at that).
I'm getting this Megs too as CW barely seen/sold out quickly in the local TRU.

Is Legends Megs still available for those proerder prices? I didn't jump on them when they first hit so i assumed they were already sold out.
