I noticed right away. It matters to me, so it's really no one's place to say the differences are insignificant if I find them to be so.
I understand you 100000%. I'm usually the biggest stickler for accuracy. But for some reason
THIS Megatron doesn't bother me. Maybe it's because he'll essentially be a stand alone figure for me, therefor doesn't need to conform to the my exact vision of accuracy.
I get ya. But now that I
have seen the differences, and knowing that Legends Megatron is only going to be a couple dollars more than the Hasbro version (6000 Yen at HLJ = $50 USD), I don't get why people are coming down on folks who prefer the Takara version. It's not like I've come down on the Hasbro version too hard. Heck, I mentioned above that I bought the only one I ever saw in person, just because he's so damn awesome.
At the end of the day, I just don't want people criticizing my purchase due to "insignificant" or "minor" differences when it's my dollar to spend, and when the term "insignificant" is ultimately subjective.

Ha! I've been on the quest for UN-09 for the last few months. I had him once, something like 4 years ago, but sold him. He wasn't Megatron enough for me (at the time).
But now that we have a good number of G1-deco Megatrons, I really want that guy, just so he can stand in with the other version I've got in-hand. He's tough to track down, though!
