IDW Publishing's Transformers Scribe Simon Furman has updated
his blog with information that he first released at the Botcon 08 IDW panel...
The next series that he will be working on will be called "Maximum Dinobots". Furman has expanded on what this series will entail, be warned as the following few paragraghs contain spoilers, not only for the series but also for Spotlight: Grimlock:
my next IDW/Transformers series after the Revelation quartet of Spotlights will be… Maximum Dinobots! Spotlight Grimlock sets the scene and Max Dinos is the payoff, the long awaited, fully fledged modern day debut of the Dinobots (last seen in any functional form in Spotlight Shockwave).
But it’s far from a happy reunion, and out to spoil the party further is Scorponok and his Machination/Headmaster army. But that’s not all. For the Grimlock and the Dinobots there’s worse to come. Much worse. If it’s all-out battle action you’re after, look no further!
As yet no artist or release details have been released, but stay tuned to
Seibertron.com for more news as it comes.

Due out just in time for Botcon 2008, which Simon will be attending, Transformers Comic Series writer extraordinaire Simon Furmon has updated his blog with some teases regarding the soon to be release Spotlight: Grimlock. A small excerpt from the blog states as follows:
It had to happen, I suppose. Ever since his supporting role in Spotlight: Shockwave, it’s only ever been a matter of time before the Dinobot commander (an established favourite of mine) got his star turn. And what a turn it is! Not only is it something of a sequel to Spotlight: Shockwave, it’s also something of a prequel (not saying yet to what, but maybe I’ll get to spill the beans at Botcon), and it even ties into the ongoing Escalation/Devastation storyline, featuring, as it does, a certain Scorponok!
You can read the entire blog tease
here.
Spotlight: Grimlock is due out this wednesday in comic shops everywhere, so don't forget to snag a copy and bring it to Botcon, you just may get an autograph from the literary genius himself.

Sean Galloway has released some images of his concept designs for the Transformers: Animated Dinobots over on
his blog.
The images display Sean's concept design for the characters Sludge, Swoop (twice), Grimlock, and Snarl.
Sean states "
My goal was to make them feel as if they had some Japanese aspects in them. For Sludge, I wasn't sure if 4 arms would work on him, but I figured what the heck, ya know? For Swoop I wanted to make him more ninja-esque.... Grimlock more Samurai-esque, and finally Snarl as more of a bruiser or a grunt from the bunch."
You can check out the concept art below, or head on over to Sean's blog by
