Don Figueroa stopped in our very own comic book forum to visit for a bit, and who knows, you may just see him around Seibertron posting here or there.
Don was kind enough to take some time out and tease and talk to some of our community. Check out the original thread
here and post some kind words to Don if you'd like.
The second thing that I wanted to mention was that Don shared a very AWESOME sketch from his sketchbook (See the piece below!). According to Don, this sketch is a 2-3 year old design he did for HASBRO. He also shared that this sketch should be one of those included in IDW's
The Best of Don Figueroa collection.
Thanks to Don for all his very creative artwork, bringing alive our beloved characters, and inspiring lots of folks to pick up a pencil and paper and have a go at it themselves.
Keep up the great work!

Comics Continuum has posted IDW's solicitations for November. Here is what we can expect to see:
THE TRANSFORMERS SPOTLIGHT: RAMJET
Written by Stuart Moore, art by Robby Russo, covers by Guido Guidi and Musso.
Spinning out of the hit miniseries New Avengers/Transformers! Meet Ramjet, a lone wolf Decepticon whose plans involve nothing less than the overthrow of Megatron himself! But is Ramjet the master schemer he believes, or just another pretender to the throne?
THE TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION #3
Written by Simon Furman, art by E.J. Su, covers by Su and Nick Roche.
If you thought "Doc" Ratchet got off lightly last issueŠ think again! He's out on his own, on the run (with Verity and Jimmy to protect) and he's got Decepticon living weapon Sixshot on his case. Sounds distinctly terminal to us! Plus, more action and carnage from the Headmasters, more on the fate/destiny of Hunter/Sunstreaker and the Reapers make their move!
TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS: THE ASCENDING #4
Written by Simon Furman, art by Don Figueroa, covers by Figueroa and Nick Roche.
The staggering conclusion! A last, desperate gambit, devised by Magmatron and enacted by The Pack and Ravage, is played out on Cybertron, but can anything now stop the ascension of the Nemesis and the terrifying, apocalyptic repercussions thereof? And on Earth, Razorbeasts's fate is sealed, and his destiny will forever shape the course of the Beast Wars! By the Transformers: Stormbringer team of Simon Furman and Don Figueroa.
THE TRANSFORMERS: BEST OF THE UK: DINOBOTS #3
Written by Simon Furman, art by Will Simpson, Barry Kitson and Tim Perkins, covers by Nick Roche, Retro Art.
The Autobots continue the Dino Hunt! Prowl and Optimus Prime monitor the teams under the command of Soundwave and Sideswipe as they attempt to round up the rampaging Dinobots -- including Grimlock. After the dust settles who will have the advantage -- the Autobots or the Decepticons? Nick Roche once again provides an all-new cover re-creating a classic scene from the issue!

Our own clrobe as informed us that IDW solicitations for October have been released at
Comics Continuum. Here is the list of Transformers titles that will be coming out in September:
TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS: THE ASCENDING #3
Written by Simon Furman, art by Don Figueroa, covers by Figueroa and Nick Roche.
With the crisis on Cybertron escalating to fever pitch, it falls to The Pack and the earthbound Maximals and Predacons to prevent its descent into chaos and, ultimately, its utter destruction. Too bad then that Razorbeast, now infected with the Angolmois corruption, is Hell-bent on killing them all! The action explodes on two worlds as "the nemesis" makes his presence felt... in world-shattering style.
THE TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS: SOURCEBOOK #2
Written and art by Simon Furman and Ben Yee, art by various, cover by Don Figueroa.
An all-encompassing, unifying resource book highlighting the characters, worlds and technology from all generations and incarnations of Beast Wars with the second volume of this informative collection. From Air Hammer to Wolfang and beyond, and featuring all-new art from a host of the greatest Transformers artists like Don Figueroa, Robby Musso, Nick Roche, Rob Ruffolo, and many more, this is the series that explains everything you need to know about the world of the Beast Wars!
THE TRANSFORMERS: UK HITS: DINOBOTS #2
Written by Simon Furman, art by Will Simpson, cover by Nick Roche.
The Dinobot hunt begins here! The Dinobots are unleashed and out of control. Optimus Prime must rally the Autobots in order contain the likes of Grimlock, Swoop, Slag, Snarl and Sludge before it is too late and innocent lives are endangered. Nick Roche once again provides an all-new cover re-creating a classic scene from the issue!
THE TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION #2
Written by Simon Furman, art by E.J. Su, covers by Su and Nick Roche.
Hold on tight and strap yourself in. For the beleaguered Earthbound Autobot Tactical Response Unit, the ride is about to get bumpy. Big time! With Decepticon super-weapon Sixshot meting out the punishment, they're all looking distinctly like an endangered species. And it's not much better for Hot Rod and Wheeljack... who must face the Machination's Headmasters! Seriously.
THE TRANSFORMERS MAGAZINE #3
Written by Simon Furman and Chris Sarracini, art by José Delbo, Don Figueroa and James Raiz, cover by Robby Musso.
Continuing with three tales that span The Transformers 20-plus year reign, this special full-color, 8-1/2" x 11" magazine format collection contains an early Marvel story (issue #56, "Back From The Dead"), the continuing Dreamwave run (Armada #3), and the latest contribution to Transformers lore from IDW (Stormbringer #3). Artist Robby Musso provides a new cover.
THE TRANSFORMERS PREMIERE EDITION, VOL. 1 HC

Journey from Cybertron to Earth and back as the Transformers' legendary war spans the galaxy in a quest to return peace to their home planet, and restore harmony between all mechanoids. But while the noble Autobots seek their freedom, the Decepticons await with treacherous plans of their own. Including Infiltration, Stormbringer, a collection of Spotlights (Shockwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot, Ultra Magnus), and the latest chapter, Escalation. Each book comes with a tip-in plate signed by Furman, Su and Figueroa.

Howdy folks! Just read through the Botcon comic, which continues the timelines saga that is being presented in the club magazine bi-monthly.
Written by Forrest Lee
Shown in the picture is the Alex Milne cover and the Target Exclusive Convention Pack
It reads a little out of place. Last club mag, we had the Autobots getting ready to go toe to toe with Devastator. For those that read the five page preview, you know that they have returned from it, and Rodimus (Hot Rod) is gravely injured.
S P O I L E R S...S Y N O P S I S...
____________________________________________________________
Here's some other information which would be considered spoiling:
Characters:
Bots: Prime, Bumblebee, Mirage, Rodimus, Magnus, Grimlock, Snarl, Swoop, Elita One, Springer, Huffer, Strongarm
Cons: Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Ramjet, Thrust, Dirge, Dreadwind, Weirdwolf, Soundwave, Ravage
Other: Bugbite
After a Devastator induced devastation of the Earth bound bots, Prime needs more help and Magnus, Springer, Elita One, Huffer, Swoop, Snarl and Strongarm show up to give it to him.
Meanwhile, Bugbite plots revenge against all Transformers, as he implants 'cerebro shell' based control devices in the seekers, and Starscream, and attempts a coup of Megatron, and all the Cons. His goal is the destruction of all Transformers, because he is from another time and place, where he is now the lone survivor.
Not for long though, as Megatron pounds him. The Autobots rescue Mirage (who used his invisibility to spy on the Cons, but then is captured and brought to Megatron by Bugbite and his forces).
The Autobots get out intact and wholly unharmed (except Mirage and Rodimus), but Decepticon casualties are really high, and the Autobots did nothing to them really, but free Mirage and jam and destroy the cerebro technology.
_____________________________________________________________
It's a good read, and uses some characters that have been gone for too long. Things like 'master partners are brought up as very appropriate plot points, and why there is no longer binary bonded partners to Weirdwolf, and Dreadwind.
Elita One is portrayed as a very capable warrior and spy, and there is nary an interaction between her and Optimus, for good or ill...

Once again Simon Furman has updated his
blog. In this latest entry Furman talks about the upcoming Beast Wars The Ascending #2 Here is what Furman posted:
"Almost caught up with myself. I’m mid-way through the Devastation #3 script and about to embark on Transformers (UK) #5, so I thought now would be a good time to wax retrospectively about Beast Wars The Ascending #2 (which I wrapped a week or so ago). As always, what follows is a series of teases rather than the exact content. This is a spoiler-free zone (more or less). For those of you who’ve read my earlier (more general/introductory) ‘In Ascending Order’ item, this is something of a more focused look at issue #2 of the four-issue series. Lots going on here. The strands culled from Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo are paramount in this issue, as we start to see exactly what (and who) is causing things to go so badly wrong on Cybertron and why Predacon General Magmatron is so desperate to stop it (even it means declaring a truce with his bitter enemy, Razorbeast). It’s been great fun trying to pull all these various story strands from the US and Japanese TV series together for this series (a process started back when Ben Yee and I collaborated on the upcoming Beast Wars Profiles series), not to mention bringing yet more characters into one, cohesive (I hope) Beast Wars universe. So, we have debuts for the likes of Drancron, Rartorata and Elephorca, plus the Magnaboss trio of Prowl, Ironhide and Silverbolt (the G1 characters). For those who enjoyed his fleeting appearance in The Gathering, there’s more of Big Convoy to savour. Oh, and on Earth, we continue a humungous battle between Razorbeast’s Maximals and Ravage’s Predacons (which ties directly into events in the US BW TV series), plus the arrival (in that era) of Lio Convoy and The Pack (Stampy’s fast becoming a favourite of mine). Grimlock’s in there too… of course! And, well, all I can say is, poor Razorbeast! Beast Wars The Ascending #2 hits stores in September."

Transformers Club.com has posted a new image of the cover of an upcoming exclusive comic book featuring the "Timelines" title, but the story features Transformers Classics!
From the image, it appears that Ultra Magnus (Target Exclusive, no body armor), Springer, Grimlock, Elita-1, Huffer, and several others such as Classic Minicons are decending from the sky.
It is also noteworthy that Elita-1 is pictured to be a remold of Cybertron Thunderblast. Springer appears to be using the Cybertron Defense Hotshot Mold. Lastly, Huffer appears to be using the Cybertron Armorhide Mold. Could these be more Botcon exclusive figures to go with this year's Classics theme? Only time will tell.
Also, according to Pete@Botcon, this will be distributed through Diamond Comics Worldwide!

As we all know BotCon is just not a place to get news about upcoming Transformers toys, but it is also a place where new information about the comics can be found. Both Simon Furman and Don Figueroa participated in the Creating History Panel. They revealed information about upcoming comics and toys! Here are some reports about what was revealed.
Allspark.com and
TFormers.com has posted reports on this click on the links above to read the full reports
Summary
Simon Furman
- There are plans to bring Galvatron into the IDW comic universe but nothing specific. Although he mentioned 'Other dimension stuff' that will appear in the Nightbeat spotlight.
- In the Ultra Magnus Spotlight he wants to see him step over the line a little bit. Possibly more like Grimlock.
-There may be "some Headmasters stuff" in the IDW Universe.
- Furman doesn't want to overuse Grimlock. He was in the Shockwave spotlight and won't show up again. for a while.
- he wants to do a Soundwave Spotlight which we might see more Ratbat in.
- He approached Bludgeon in the IDW series the same way he did before. Don made some design changes to make him more scary.
- Something that happens to one of the human characters in the 1st issue of Escalation which will have big repercussions. However he is aware Transformers is all about the robots.
+ Furman's thoughts on Female Transformers: There has to be a rational for any character he uses. Females never worked for him. Why are there female robots? Until he has a reason why, he won't use them.
- Furman "would love to do more with" Marvels new Death's Head.
- Furman has a love for Marvel comics because he grew up reading them. Working in the Marvel universe is just fabulous.
- Furman's influence would be Stan Lee.
- Furman will be working on some movie-related non-comic projects.
More specifics will be coming from Furman on Sunday.
Don Figueroa
- Don spoke of a reworked, 'less floppy' Titanium War Within Optimus Prime. Possibly as part of a two-pack with a reworked Megatron.
- Don also metioned a new non-repaint Titanium G1 Ultra Magnus toy that will transform without having to remove his armor.
- Don does not own the copywrites ti the Transformers art he does, once submitted to the companies they own it. Sometimes he sells originals which he gets to keep. But he cannot print them and sell them.
- Don Influence: Old school type. Jim Lee stuff, doesn't want to try and compete with other TF artists.
