Two formidable combatants; Cheetor and Blackarachnia join Transformers: Earth Wars this weekend!
Full of youthful overconfidence, the devil-may-care Cheetor lives life to the full and at high velocity.
However, that reckless, full throttle attitude often gets him into deep trouble, sometimes more than he can handle solo (not that he'd ever admit it).
It's fair to say that Cheetor's overbearing enthusiasm sometimes grates on the nerves of his Maximal teammates. Nevertheless, they appreciate his speed and agility in battle.
Smart, alluring and dangerous, Blackarachnia has eight legs and knows how to use them.
She is the epitome of the femme fatale and, while she wears the insignia of a Predacon, has no great regard for Megatron's leadership and always looks out for number one first and foremost.
Forever planning and plotting, weaving devious web-like strategies to trap the unwary, Blackarachnia makes sure she always comes out on top.
Bestial Fury - For 15 seconds, use melee attacks dealing damage. Destroy buildings to increase your attack and movement speeds by 25% - the buff lasts 90 seconds and can stack 5 times.

Who, or what lies in the far future? Grimlock never one to shy away from a challenge has decided the Time Continuum has the answer.
What could possibly go wrong...
Primal Call
Long-distance pals
The Time Continuum is fragile and should not be messed with by the inexperienced... The simplest variation within the Universal Timeline can result in unforeseen (and most likely dreadful) consequences.
Grimlock might be the smartest Dinobot, but bringing new allies from a distant future is a task best handled by brains much bigger than his... Blissfully unaware of the risks, Grimlock pushes head on into a web of intrigue way beyond his comprehension.

Last week we received reports regarding an issue with the increased deploy range of Soundwave and Blasters minions.
This issue has been resolved and the fix will be released in an upcoming update. Thanks for all the reports.
As you're aware, we recently made a change to the Combiners special ability Rush & Smash to stop them charging through the map which involved the ability to target other bots being disabled.
We have been testing a build which has the ability to target bots again and we're happy to say the fix will be released in an upcoming game update.
We received multiple reports regarding the Alliance War won leaderboard sometimes shows stars instead of medals.
Thank you for reporting this. A fix has been found which will be released in a future update.

We're gearing up for a brand new Beast Wars Saga! Catch Dan, Adam, and Deb LIVE on Thursday, 24th August @ 4 pm UTC for more details.
During Seibertron.com's visit to Kabam Games in Vancouver, we were able to meet the creative staff behind their Transformers Forged to Fight free to play game. We interviewed the following key players:
Cuz Parry : Head writer (has previously written the entire Skate series)
Mike McCartney: Game Director
Adam Cooper: Lead character artist
Pablo Greenham: Lead environment artist
Marcelo Matere: Promotional artist (Packaging artist for Hasbro since Armada)
Darren Evenson: Character designer
Nick Williams: Lead VFX artist
Derek Ng-Cummings: Animator
When did you discover Transformers?
Cuz: In 84 when it was playing. I was 18 at the time and me and my friends would sometimes chill watching 80s cartoons like Transformers and He-Man
Derek: G1 in 85
Darren: G1 in the mid 80s, I got Hoist for Christmas.
Nick: The toys and G1 cartoon in 1984. I had many of them as a kid, like Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus and Optimus.
Pablo: In 84 with the show.
Mike: My dad would go on business trips a lot and would always bring me something back. Once he brought me back G1 Hound, my very first Transformer. I loved him and brought him everywhere. One day I was at the grocery store and was looking at those capsule machines. I left him on top of the machine to put the money in and since I was only thinking of what prize I had gotten, I forgot about Hound. When I went back to get him, he was gone. I was seven and still remember it clearly.
Marcelo: 86 since Brazil got the cartoons a bit later.
Adam: 1985-86 with both the cartoons and toys.
Favourite Transformers character growing up?
Cuz: I liked how Cliffjumper was such a grumpy dk. I also liked Jazz since he was pretty much the same as Hong Kong Phooey, also voiced by Scatman Crothers.
Derek: Optimus Prime
Darren: Jetfire, I love how he traded sides.
Nick: Jetfire
Pablo: Optimus Prime
Mike: Shockwave and Soundwave
Marcelo: Grimlock and the Dinobots
Adam: Preaking and the Predacons. My favourite moment was in a G1 comic when they battled Megatron.
Adam Cooper explaining how he wanted Rhinox's Beast Mode to resemble more like the G1 Predacons
Favourite Transformers era design wise?
Cuz: The Generations toys, which are G1 but with more detail on their surfaces.
Derek: G1
Darren: G1
Nick: G1
Pablo: Prime, just a great mix of G1 and a more detailed movie aesthetic.
Mike: G1
Marcelo: Transformers Animated
Adam: IDW (especially All Hail Megatron)
Marcelo's art was found across the studio's walls
Favorite movie design?
Cuz: Hound and Bonecrusher. I really like how the later moves in the film, like he’s scating. Plus he has those massive over the shoulder shovels.
Derek: Bumblebee, with more noticeable car kibble.
Darren: Bumblebee, with the chest clearly made of car parts.
Nick: Drift and Hot Rod
Pablo: Demolishor, it was unlike any other Transformers design.
Mike: Drift from Age of Extinction, I love that Samurai look.
Marcelo: Barricade but only from the first trilogy. I do not like his redesign in The Last Knight. I liked how he had more car parts previously and his head didn’t have 6 eyes. Now the designs all make the bots look similar to each other with the alt mode kibble morphing and shaping up their bodies to all have similar humanoid looks, which makes them less unique from bot to bot.
Adam: Megatron in both Dark of the Moon and The Last Knight.
Marcelo (in the background) drew all attendees their favourite character from the game
Favourite character to fight with in the game?
Cuz: Bumblebee
Derek: Bludgeon
Darren: Windblade
Nick: Motormaster
Pablo: Windblade
Mike: Bonecrusher
Marcelo: Windblade
Adam: Bludgeon
What is your preferred strategy when playing?
Cuz: I use Ironhide to go through lower level bots, using his #2 special. Since range weapons can be avoided, I preffer getting in, hitting with the heavy attack while trying to get the opponent against the wall.
Derek: With Bludgeon, I use ranged attacks as much as possible until I can use special #2.
Darren: Windblade’s sword has a high bleed and she can avoid ranged attacks well. I fight at a distance and then I carve up with the sword.
Nick: I never use the special #3, with Motormaster, I use special #1 as soon as I get it because of the range.
Pablo: I never use specials.
Mike: I use autofight on raids. When fighting, I block and wait for an opening.
Marcelo: tap tap tap, heavy attack.
Adam: With Bludgeon I like mixing up range with heavy attacks while waiting for a special.
Here is a video of youtuber Steelsh showing us Bludgeon's specials

Dinobot Grimlock
A rampaging force of nature, Grimlock is the most feared and powerful of the Dinobots, as irascible and savage as the T-Rex his beast mode is modelled on. Combat is in Grimlock's spark, and periods in between battles are simply periods of great frustration and seething resentment. Any display of weakness is worthy only of contempt in Grimlock's optics, but he's not as dumb as he likes people to think, and his courage on the battlefield is the stuff of legend.
Dinobot Slug
Considering he's one of the good 'bots, Slug is as nasty and mean-spirited as they come, and resents everyone from Optimus Prime down. The actual process it takes to build up a fiery (3,000 degrees centigrade plus) blast and reduce an enemy to molten slag is hardly energy-efficient, but he doesn't care. It's firepower well spent in his book. As he often says, "I have no need for friends, even less for enemies."
Dinobot Slog
Despite his plodding, lumbering gait and bulldozer-like approach to anything in his way, Slog is a gentle and even shy 'bot at heart. But conscious of his bellicose fellow Dinobots, and wary of their scorn, he keeps his sensitive side hidden. Slog's seismic footfalls have been known to cause inadvertent landslides, which sometimes bury Slog and anyone nearby, making others dismiss him as clumsy and accident prone.
Dinobot Snarl
Surly and uncommunicative, a loner by nature, Snarl is about as far from a team player as you can get. But in a group comprised of misfits and malcontents, he somehow fits right in. And though he follows orders (grudgingly), what keeps him in line is the promise of mortal combat — and lashings of it. Only the thrill of battle can truly elevate Snarl's spirits and being a Dinobot provides everything his heart desires.
Dinobot Snarl
In army lingo, Snarl is a grunt. Not just because he's infantry, specializing in desert warfare, obediently if grudgingly following the orders of his commanding officer, but because he's a 'bot of few words and fewer opinions, and the most you can get out of him is the odd grunt. A loner by nature, uncommunicative and surly, Snarl only comes to life in the heat of battle, alongside his fellow Dinobots."

New Characters
Last week we took a peek at the artistic side of Optimus Primal & Beast Wars Megatron. This time, we’ll be taking a deep dive into gameplay territory!
Gameplay Design
The introduction of Beast Wars characters into the game is a big milestone for us. And we’ve taken the importance of these bots as an opportunity to try some new gameplay mechanics.
Design Goals & Role Optimus Primal and Megatron are feral forces of destruction that lead by example. We’ve classified them both as Special, and while their models and animations differ widely, they share in-game stats and make use of the same new Special Ability. They are sturdy and dangerous frontline brawlers, faster, more aggressive versions of their Generations equivalents.
Gameplay Stats
Gameplay stats of Optimus Primal and Megatron place them close to another ‘unstoppable force of nature’ - Grimlock. They have same movement speed of 3, slightly lower damage but more health.
Attacks & Weaponry
Our new Maximal & Predacon friends are adept at smashing or biting anything they come across. But as so often with Transformers characters, there’s more than meets the eye...
Both characters have access to a powerful long range attack (shoulder cannons for Primal, laser breath for Megatron). It has a 15 second cooldown and can be fired over enemy walls as far as 11 units from the target (almost as far as the range of the Beam Laser defense).
Anything that survives the laser blast is in for a surprise... Primal and Megatron are the first characters to use our new “move & attack” battle behaviour, and they use it well! The bots can use a gap-closing jump attack, which allows them to traverse above walls and deal damage in a large area. This attack is available every 10 seconds on targets that are between 10 and 8 units away. Primal and Megatron make for one explosive entrance!
Secret Tip: You can use Inspiring Charge on a distant target to force these new bots to jump at it. Just ensure the 10 second cooldown has passed and the target is far enough to jump at. Using Battle Orders can also help get the bot jumping between defenses.
Special Ability
Battle Orders - Target their defenses! Friendly bots are given a health shield and prioritize all defenses for 15 seconds.
Battle Orders is a leadership ability that helps your bots pick the most dangerous targets first, and have the health to do so! The shield amount increases with bot’s damage and ability level.
A variation of this ability was voted by the community as one of their favourites. We’ve redesigned it to make it a bit more unique and changed the buffing effect from “health restoration” to a more useful (and unique) bonus health. This way, even if your bots are fresh, they get the extra health and are harder to shoot down.
It’s time to bring these bots through the Space Bridge and take them into battle! Check back next week for details on how to unlock our new Beast Wars characters.
Balancing Changes
13-April-2017 - 1.39.2
Equalized Tantrum's health and damage stats with Hot Spot.
Healing Grenade (Ratchet/Hook) - Increased health restoration by 50%. Ability level scaling increased by 20% (from 4 to 5%).
Bots across a single class can differ in stats quite widely. Hot Spot and Tantrum have different stat partners (and were released at different times), but they ended up sharing the same Reflective Shield ability and in this case, have same use case that’s directly relatable. So based on community feedback, we've removed the health/damage difference between these two bots, opting for Hot Spot as the base.
As for Healing Grenade, we want the ability to be more meaningful and have impact on higher bot levels and on with high health bots. We hope you like the change!
