Christmas shopping season has started at Toysrus. Their stores are stocked to the brim, including the Transformers section. While there is a lot of stock, amount wise, there isn't much variety. It mainly features non Studio Series Rise of the Beasts toys and Cyberverse, which makes sense as they mainly target parents/kids. They also concentrate on their exclusives and their big Transformers deal for the next two weeks combines those two strengths of their: the exclusive mainline Rise of the Beasts 3 pack from the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line.
Below is how various Toysrus stores look like at the moment. You'll notice that they did get the wave 4 Legacy deluxes, but in a small amount, compared to the rest. They are also up to date on the Cyberverse line, with the latest Arcee/Hashtag finger puppets and the warrior Megatron wave.
In other sightings news, the final wave of 2023's Studio Series line is being found in Canada. Leader Primal and the deluxe wave with Mirage and Nightbird has been found at Gamestop.
Well this is a surprise! We've gotten word of an until-now unknown 2-pack that was sighted at a Canadian GameStop store, consisting of two characters from the G1 episode War Dawn, those of Ariel and Dion, Orion Pax's girlfriend and best friend, respectively. These two figures look to be remolds and recolors of Legacy Prime Arcee and Studio Series 86 Kup. Ariel's name is spelled "Erial" here, likely as to not conflict with a certain trademarked mermaid.
These were found at GameStop in Canada, and posted by @id_armed on Twitter. As the set was street-dated for early April, it wasn't able to be purchased, but we do have images of both the front and back of the box.
So what do you all make of this? When it's released, do you plan on picking it up? Let us know your thoughts below.
Technically, this is our first Rise of the Beasts toy in North American stores. However, as you can see when comparing to the original packaging below, the toy has been rebranded. This Energon Igniter 2 pack with Bumblebee and Optimus sporting their alt modes from the Rise of the Beasts film no longer has "Rise of the Beasts" on their packaging but instead "Transformers Bumblebee" which is the toyline where these toys first appeared, even though that alt mode for Optimus was not the one seen in the Bumblebee movie. This 2 pack is $49.99 CAD. This was found in an Ontario Toysrus, as is another new sighting: the Creatures Collide 4 pack.
The 4 pack is $129.99 CAD which comes out to $36 per deluxe, which is almost $10 less than what Toysrus currently charges for deluxe figures, like SS86 Arcee and her wavemates which were also found at the same location. This particular sighting comes from Collectingtoys who posted on cybertron.ca.
With Toysrus Canada having fallen from grace with very little Transformers product available, being late with releases and charging higher than any other direct retailer (winning strategy right there), the only two Canada wide brick and mortar locations left for new Transformers is Walmart and Gamestop. And Gamestop happens to be where Transformers are found first and that is why these new Canadian sightings are from Gamestop and why that will be the case for most new sightings of mainline toys in Canada. Jhiaxus has been found there, as was deluxe Sidesways from the third wave of 2022 Studio Series deluxes. SS86 Arcee has been found in Gamestop as well.
We have news that Transformers Studio Series 2022 Wave 3, or wave 17 as it is referenced by certain retailers, has been found at US retail. ApocalypseThruster found them at a Target in California. This wave has no repacks and of the 3 new toys, it is Bumblebee who ends up shortpacked. Here are the full contents:
2x Dark of the Moon Bumblebee
3x Revenge of the Fallen Sideways
3x Arcee
We also have reviews for Arcee and Sideways if you want to get to know more about those toys before picking them up.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Sideways is a bot of many hats. Herald of Unicron, glorified movie cameo, and Master Yogi to name a few. As far as I can tell this isn't a licensed car, which is ok as it allows for more wiggle room with the design and it shows. This is one of the few car transformers I didn't struggle with getting panels lined up and pegged into place. Robot mode is squat and lanky but once you have the legs bent properly they hold Sideways up well and it's pretty posable. If you've been looking for some of the more obscure characters from the live-action movies to get a figure, Sideways is a solid purchase.
chuckdawg1999 wrote:When Studio Series 86 Arcee was originally announced, many fans thought it would be a slight repaint of the current Earthrise mold that has been re-released in the Kingdom line. Well SS86 Arcee is a heavy retool of the older 30th-anniversary mold that results in the best G1 Arcee we've gotten to date, it's by no means perfect though. Transformation is a bit more involved than you would think, especially when you realize that having enough clearance in vehicle mode is a difference of millimeters. Car mode is the closest to the G1 animation I've seen, I'm very impressed with how the designers were able to pull it off. Unfortunately, there is still a sizable backpack to deal with in robot mode, but the joints are tight enough for now to handle it. There are plenty of better Arcee toys, but if you're looking for a pure G1 experience this is the best you can do.
Transformers Authentics bravo class Arcee has been found t Dollar General locations in the US since the begining of June. In case you saw it and were not sure if it was worth your hard earned coin or not, we have 2 video reviews for you below. One is from Alex Reynard and the other from Chuck, who also writes about the toy, enjoy!
chuckdawg1999 wrote:Authentics Arcee is a mixed bag. On the one hand, it's a neat figure that transforms without being a shell former, and it has some good articulation. On the other hand, due to the nature of Authentics, there are some tolerance issues with the legs and arms coming together, while the articulation could be a bit more functional. In general, the plastic doesn't feel as good as it could be. If you're looking for a simple Arcee then the Authentics version might be worth the look.
Here's a little Transformers Authentics news roundup for you. We knew we were getting two new molds in the Authentics line, this is thetoyline made for emerging economies and it can also be found in the US at discount/dollar stores (so family Dollar rather than Walmart). Wheeljack is 7 inches while Arcee is closer to a Scout class size. They are also far more affordable than Transformers found in Walmart and Target. Earlier in April, a sighting and in hand images were posted of Arcee on the Transformers Chile group on Facebook. You can see those images below.
And jus the other day, we got wind of a sighting of Wheeljack in the US. He was found at a Kroger in Indianapolis by TF fan undertaker who posted in the TFW boards.
We have news that Transformers Legacy deluxe wave 1 has been found at US retail. It consists of Kickback, TF Prime Arcee, Dragstrip and Skids. TF fans mute and Yertle found this wave at Targets in Virginia and North Carolina.
Ollie's has gotten their hands on a few waves of last year's Studio Series deluxe toys. They are selling them half price, so at $10. This brings us back to the glory days of $10 deluxes but with today's greater parts count. Some of the toys found so far include Roadbuster, Soundwave, Hot Rod and the Arcee Sisters.
They also have Earthrise Snap Dragon for $15.99.
Let us know what else you find.
We have some good news for you. Fellow Seibertronians sol Magnus and Aronjlove have reported finding Kingdom leader Ultra Magnus. The deluxes were also found, they include Ractonite, Arcee, Huffer and Airazor. Aronjlove gave us some quick thoughts on magnus plus shares how to get him for the best price possible, please read on.
sol magnus wrote:ULTRA MAGNUS!!! COME OUT! WE'RE HERE! COME MEET YOUR DOOM!!!!
Found today in Baltimore, MD.
aronjlove wrote:I grabbed the last Ultra Mag along with Huffer and Airrazor. No Voyagers or Core-class but they had a couple each of the deluxes. 25% off Magnus plus $10 off a $60 or more purchase and the 5% Red card savings all added up nicely.
aronjlove wrote:Very happy I got Kingdom Ultra Magnus! Also very happy I was able to get him with so many discounts applied to my purchase
I haven't transformed him yet but I wanted to share some initial thoughts. To start, sad face kinda makes me sad.
I didn't think I'd care, but yeah it is much cleaner.
Especially side by side.
White Optimus also looks cleaner but lacks a bit of charm that the Cybertronian version has from its detailing. But the front of Kingdom White Optimus is definitely a match for your typical Optimus chest and ab section.
I used the Netflix Magnus for comparison as he has tighter arms and legs than Siege, but Kingdom is even nicer. He can easily hold his own gun up along with the arm armor, something my Netflix version struggles with. Siege can barely hold the gun straight to aim.
Very happy to have an earth-mode Magnus since this is all about celebrating the movie, and it is definitely a better figure quality-wise. But the coupon made this an easy purchase so your mileage may vary.
