Via some internet magicks, and some further digging on online retailer Amazon, the Canada version, we have what appears to be the full list of upcoming figures from the Transformers: The Last Knight movie, due in theaters in Summer 2017. Much like for Age of Extinction, they're all given a nickname (moving away from Rocky and into astronomy), no images, no pricepoint, but a general description and the classes - as you can see in the breakdown below (Legion, Deluxe, and Voyager). What do you think? Which character is which? Does this get some sort of interest ready for the new toyline? Let us know in the Energon Pub!

I'm glad there are new Legions I missed them in the previous line.
I expect from the blurb that there also exist the Last Knight Ones Ste-Changers too.
I wonder if they will do some Legions that actually represent the smaller Characters like Brains - also do any toys of characters they missed out on by the size not existing for the AOE line. not to mention as One-Step Changers were only introduced a few years ago they could also go old school (remember it's the 10 anniversary of the 2007 Movie) and make a 1=step 1970's Bumblebee or Jet Megatron or even Blackout, Bonecrusher and Brawl.
They already sneaked a One Step ROTF Megatron into a previous line so there is not reason to not do that again. I don't expect they will ever make dino's old body though.
All this talk of onesteps though just reminded me I never did get a a One-step Stinger.

I still consider leader class Optimus Prime from ROTF as one of the best if not the best transformers Movie toys.
I wish they could really do some hard work on a new version to equal its predecessor...

Its the same toy. I dont know if this means it will be reissued or if its just there for show. Its the same box as the older one too.
Here is our original article on that toy from 2010

The box is just a picture of the old "Masterpiece" Movie line with Starscream as the first release. Why is it attached to this figure? I haven't seen the box picture anywhere else, nor have I seen it being referred to by the "MPM-2 monicker" outside of the box.

The Optimus looked neat and expensive, until the wheels look backpacked... That looks just awful no matter how great the front is.
Posted by Actar on January 10th, 2017 @ 8:43am CST
That's it. I'm buying two.

Does that mean that is the same toy afterall? And if so, are we to assum they are simply rereleasing him? Could it be that he is just there as a reminder of his previous look?

Also, I just wanted to point out that the Optimus redeco makes no sense for this movie line. His body changed at the end of AOE and that is reflected in the leader retool from Takara. This toy, being for The Last Knight should use that mold to at least reflect those changes. It could have beena chance for Hasbro to release that retool. But no, same leader mold again.

william-james88 wrote:Ok, so it has differences from that original mold but it is still based on it right?
It is definitely hard to tell, because it's the same character, but I'm putting my money on a new mold as it doesn't seem to share any parts with the previous figure.
They talk about the figure in this press conference/presentation. It's a new line of Masterpiece movie figures, it's based on the first movie appearance and it seems that the figure will have diecast in it as well.

Agreed 100%. Hopefully this doesn't mean that we won't be getting a new Leader figure down the line.

The back of the figure is near identical. Same backpack, transformation panels, legs etc... all the same. Even the same sword.
I'm calling a slight retool at best:

I think Optimus is going to be 3 different colours in this Movie - initially he will be iced up but look like he did in AOE then he will be this darker muted banged up look with purple eyes (suggestive of Nemesis Prime) and then he might get the Silver Knight Optimus deco they crapped out on from the last Movie - as I've seen a fair bit of promotional stuff for The Last Knight showing the silver deco - so there must be a reason for that.

RAR wrote:I've seen a fair bit of promotional stuff for The Last Knight showing the silver deco - so there must be a reason for that.
yeah, the reason is early on in the development, back when the movie makers were giving the info to Hasbro to plan out the toyline, Optimus was supposed to become a silver knight at the end. However, the dropped the idea during production and his only change is his chest and forearms.
Poor Target, they went all in on that Silver Optimus concept.

It seems to be! but seeing as this is the Dark Energon(or Shadow Spark as they are officially calling it) version....i guess they were going for a kind of Nemesis dark tone style of paint scheme.

But dont worry, until now the line was just toys in the mainline with different paint jobs. Like if you have Leader Starscream and Battle Ops Bumblebee then thats already the first 2. its just that Takara released those same toys in a nice box and called them masterpiece. And now, years later, they are continuing this line.

Also: That Bumblebee is amazing and I want it. That is a perfect movie Bee

Looking a little yellow, actually.
But you're right, not only do these figures not share the same parts, I'm positive they aren't even the same size. The previous Bees were Leaders, but I think the new Bee might be closer to the size of normal MP cars, closer to Voyager size.
Why? Well let's compare things that both the pics of SS Optimus Prime and MP Bumblebee have in common.
Check out the pedestal and how much of it he takes up, robot alone. Also take note of the blue name placard below him and how small it looks compared to Prime.
Now look at the same pedestal under Bee and how there's enough space for both the bot and car to fit easily. Also look at how big that blue placard now looks next to Bee. Plus the price is in line with Hasbro's other MP car releases.
I'll be looking forward to seeing how Takara Tomy prices him and can't wait to pair him with their repaint of DotM Leader Optimus Prime.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote: Pretty odd that Hasbro initiated this...
Hence why I am certain they didnt. The first clue is that the item number remains the Takara designation of MPM-3. Hasbro Asia distributes all of Takara's MPs, so it makes perfect sense that they would unveil their latest entry into the MPM line at a show dedicated to the new movie inspired line just as they were the ones who first unveiled MP Dirge, even though that is of course a Takara product. Logically, it would be that Takara initiated this but that their asian distribution partner worked in part of their contract that they would be the ones unveiling it first.

Hmm... This changes things. I don't have any of the previous big movie Bees; they seem cool enough (or, at least, Battle Ops Bee does), but they just didn't feel like things I needed. But this one possibly actually being in MP scale... I probably shouldn't be getting a toy I might not otherwise care about just because it scales with a scale I collect, but it would be cool to finally have a figure from another continuity in Masterpiece scale.
