I just got to transforming my TT Lambor. Again, what can I say? An amazing work in engineering. It's just weird that his shins don't lock in place.
Also, one thing weird, in a review posted concerning him, the Brit reviewer mentioned that the white plastic in the figure is yellowing compared to the original release. I checked the white in my version and it's "BONE" white. So that supposed difference must be confined to his version.

I read that MP-13, MP-15 & MP-16 (Soundwave and the tapes,) will probably get reissued, too.

This incredible if they all get reissued because I was just about get into the masterpiece line fully and most of those are pretty expensive on the aftermarket now.

Though I wish Takara hadn't released Starscream so early into the reboot, I bet they could have done a much better job now (ladder magic.) And it's unlikely that they will redo him after releasing all those other jets.
But he is too prominent a character to skip and a personal favourite, so hopefully it'll be available on HLJ, too.

For MP-13, while the price is the same, the Hasbro Asia reissue will include the extra tapes.
As for MP-10, the Hasbro Asia reissue is still available from BBTS for $160, which is the one I bought a while back. And if you want Takara's, the prior reissue is still available from BBTS for $190. Not entirely sure why this 3rd reissue is $220.

I know some people are very particular about what 'version' of an MP they get... and we're seeing rereleases at BBTS for MP-13 for $159USD and MP 14, 15.... for $45 each.
However, They also are selling this one.
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TAK12406&mode=retail
Which is Soundwave and all FIVE cassettes for $159. Same price as Soundwave alone, but you get another $88 worth of cassettes. I preordered that in August and due out in December some time.
They are both listed as Takara... so if there's a difference... I'm not seeing it, but that 6 pack sure looks like the best deal to me.

I said the exact same thing a few days ago, and I also ordered the Hasbro Asia reissue back in August. Same with mp10. Hasbro Asia reissue available for 159,and prior Takara reissue for 189. Even more curious why anyone would get newest reissue of it for over 200. But people definitely are particular about the differences between hasbro and takara. I personally am ok with the hasbro versions as the better value.

I was even shocked to see that BBTS had them both listed as Takara... So the Hasbro vs. Takara thing doesn't even work. My color vision isn't great, so if ther'es something subtle going on... I don't see it.
I even already picked up the 4 KO cassettes a couple years ago.. but still going with the 6 pack to get the 'real' ones. Compared to EBay's $280-$350 price tag for JUST soundwave... I consider this a steal.

Oh NICE! I haven't seen that one...
I have little intrest in Ratbat and Zero in the Black Soundwave... so I kind of wrote him off. If I can the original cassettes that I remember from childhood... I'm content.

Old stocks are the cheaper ones. The new one takes into account the change in the fx currency, adjusted costs etc.
Also got myself a coronation Starcream from Amiami. Shoulder issues and all......

The difference is that the cheaper one was bought from the supplier back when the $US was stronger against the yen. That is all. But we are just seeing these discrepencies because we are looking at secondary sellers who sell in USD. Like if you go on e-bay or amazon marketplace and see a bunch of primes and soundwaves for different prices, but at a much smaller scale.
In the market these were made for, Japan, its more like a restock at the same price. And the Soundwave with all the casettes together isnt sold in Japan so their only option is the one that comes with Laserbeak with the other casettes bought seperately.

I'm actively searching for the KO's though as the build quality is better (as crazy as that seems to say that - it seems to be true a lot of the time).
I've also noticed a few Shockwaves have shown up again so I don't know if that is indiciative of anything like more rejects comming through - or even some pre-samples for a Takara or Hasbro Asia restock.

Soundwave (with 5 casettes) was ridiculously expensive until this reissue came out. I suggest you get Soundwave instead. there is much more value there than for Shockwave. And in any case, Shockwave can always get reissued.

I agree. Also if your not as picky, there are 3rd party Shockwaves out just to give you some options. To my knowledge there were no decent Soundwave options OTHER then the $250-$350 Soundwave.
Regardless, I made the same choice you did. Soundwave +5 all the way!

Hope no one minds me quoting such an old post, but I didn't see anything more recent. So I ordered the Hasbro Asia Reissue of MP OP from BBTS earlier this year, and only opened it last night. The figure is awesome, but I did notice a few minor annoyances.
1) When I store the gun in the figure's back, that compartment does not fully close. It doesn't latch on to what it needs to securely enough.
2) In truck mode, the legs do not tab together at all. It's still close enough that I can easily put the trailer onto it at least.
Just curious if these are well known issues with the figure? After a quick online search, it appears to be. Also, are there any easy fixes? I can live with these issues, but if there's an easy fix, I'd like to give it a try.
Also, the absolute worst part of the whole thing is the packaging. It has to be my least favorite packaging for any item I've ever purchased in my life.

I hear you, that packaging looks like the kind meant to be thrown away (which is what I did). And yup those problems are found on mine as well. Also, yours probably has leftover sprue marks around his legs, which is something you dont find on the Takara version (and I dont know if shaving or sanding them out ameliorates anything locking). For MPs, I try not to fix em if I can live with little things like this since messing up can be very costly.

Yea, I probably won't touch the figure and leave it as is. When in bot mode, the gun will be held. And in truck mode, everything squishes in tight, so the gun compartment isn't a huge issue. The legs not tabbing though annoying, at least isn't noticeable with the trailer connected.
I'm not sure what to do yet with the packaging. While I prefer a regular box, it did look cool with everything inside. Maybe that's why I didn't open it right away. I don't have a lot of MPs, and have held onto the boxes. I haven't thrown this one away yet, but I'm leaning toward it.

On my recent hunt for Pretenders, the thought never crossed my mind to buy one brand new -- but with Masterpieces, I do treat them a lot more delicately than ant CHUG or 3P figure....and my kids may never know of them until they're at least 8. ;p
I don't own many MPs -- just the recent Soundwave Asia re-release and Bluestreak (from TRU).
Dark Scorponok, CW Sky Lynx, Takara Legends Arcee, CW Wreckgar, and a re-release of G1 Megatron remain MISB, but for no other reason than I haven't been compelled to rip 'em open to make memes yet.

Plus theres the fact that a used MP Megatron goes for more than these preorders. So in this case, buying new was the way to go for me.
