I will definitely have to keep an eye out for Bruticus and it seems we will get vortex with four blades instead of two, once a clearer picture is revealed we can see if Brawl gets a fix as well

It looks like his arms don't form the nosecone, but stick alongside the shuttle mode. But that means all that nosecone has to go somewhere, and it doesn't look like he has an aerialbot backpack.
It almost looks like he has an absolutely massive boobshelf.

Va'al wrote:Via site sponsor TFSource, we have a slightly grainy reveal of the upcoming Takara Tomy Unite Warriors UW-07 Bruticus, as teased here, showing off the existence of a new mold - of course, we're talking about Blast-off in shuttle form! Also added to the set, compared to the Hasbro version, is a bigger rotor for Vortex (who still otherwise looks like an Alpha Bravo repaint). Check it out below, and start waiting as the set is due for release in June!
They even gave him cartoon-accurate boots.
Not the whole figure, just the part that the tab was attached to? Maybe you could get someone from the creative forum to Shapeway it.

Looks like the designer wasn't able to pull it off. If you look at the combined form, you can see Blast-Off's arms at the sides of his body, folded at the elbow.Insurgent wrote:I'd be surprised if the arms didn't form the nosecone, considering when the designer first teased the new blast off, he said that was one of the main things he was trying to do. And it was a sketch of the arms seperating from a nosecone.

Thats exactly like the hasbro one plus you can fan mode so that the legs look actually a lot better

HB Blast Off neither has bulky legs or a ballooning chest. I should know, as I own him.
As for my opinions on Bruticus, I think I'll stick with my Hasbro one. While the prospect of a new mold is nice, I'm fine with what I already have.

I'm with you there. I said I was getting him regardless of a new blast off because I'm a bruticus fan but after finally getting CW bruticus, I'm good. It's an awesome figure and I don't need to spend $140(American) on another bruticus just for a new mold and different paint. Fighter jet blast off has really grown on me and looks great in all modes. Maybe my thoughts will change in the next couple months but for now I'm just happy to have a new Bruticus.

Why would they? All of the UW releases have been box sets.

have you not read Randomhero's post? he's just by saying that he's not willing to fork out $140 just for another Bruticus just for a new Blast Off mold!
so that should be reason enough!

Nope! Only available with the Defensor box set.Stuartmaximus wrote:oh & btw...i believe that the Deluxe Groove you could buy separately! as well as it coming with a set.
There may still be a little hpe that Hasbro will do a single release, like they did with Quickslinger and Brake Neck. Maybe now that shuttle Blast-off exists, it's even more likely.

I'm more talking about the fact that since every UW release has been a box set, it would make no sense to break that streak.
And no, UW Groove is not available outside of UW-03 (unless you count him being retooled into Afterburner for the upcoming Hasbro Computron).

Not enough money. Preordering the Sky Reign components on BBTS brought me down to under $10.
And if you're making the joke I think you're making, then I get it.

ZeroWolf wrote:But then why was defensor an exclusive?
Insurgent wrote:Maybe they saw the demand for Defensor and realised they could sell a ton more if they don't make it exclusive?
No. Firstly, Defensor was not an exclusive everywhere, just an exclusive in japan. There are thousands of Defensors out there and he is still readily available everywhere... but for a price. Whatever Takara makes an exclusive in japan, Hasbro Asia makes it non exclusive at a higher price to supply whatever demand there could be. And they charge higher They pay Takara a nice sum to have this privaledge. They have done this 3 times now, while Takara had 3 non exclusives before. Maybe the contract with hasbro asia (thath THEY wold provde the supply rather than Takara) was only for 3 releases. And now that they have their 3, Takara can make their newest one a non exclusive and let other japanese outlets sell it. There will still be a Hasbro Asia version, priced higher, but hat will not be the only way to get that figure now. We can get the cheaper Japan version. I know I will.

Thats fine and it makes sense. I did it the other way though. Knowing how Takara oprates, I waited to know what they would be doing before choosing. Like that I wouldnt have to buy another bruticus. I like what I see, so I will buy this Takara one instead. And it wont cost $135 US at all. I will get him for $96 US plus shipping, since as I wrote above, this one can be bought directly from Japan
Stuartmaximus wrote:Hold on! are they not selling that Blast Off separately also? as well as the one that comes in the set.

As of right this moment, the only way to get that blastoff is with this set.

Congrats! Thanks for being such a sport and for sending us those news items!
PS: I just did my calculations and while it is obviously more advantageous for anyone outside the states to buy directly from japan instead of getting it from TF Source, any US collectors wont reap much from the difference of importing themselves this time. They would save at most 10$US, so not that much.

What are you talking about? Takara showed all along that they would be giving us a shuttle blastoff and we knew it would be anounced after the Hasbro release like every single release last year. So anyone who bought Hasbro pre-emptively knew what they were doing. There is absolutely no surprise from this. Takara is charging 96$ US for this release, thats the same Hasbro is charging for their complete combiner. I really do not understand your point of view in the least and it seems formed up of misinformation. If you have any questions or dont understand these details correctly, you are in the right place to ask

Not 100% but I think it means for people paying purely for the new blast off (in that sense he's correct as almost $100 for one deluxe is crazy) but of course most people want the whole set, of which shuttle blast off is a nifty bonus. Plus the amount of money people will charge for the mould individually will be extortion. After all, some of the sets sold will be split up to be sold separately on some sites

He said specifically that Takara was swindling us and I wanted to end that misinformation right here, since it can propogate lies and ill sentiments towards a company that has done nothing but be honest and straight with it's fans. Yuki told us early on to expect a shuttle blastoff. Anyone who wanted one could just have waited.

That depends on what else you have in your Private Warehouse or what have you. The savings could be quite a bit more than $10 if you distribute shipping over multiple items, no?

Could this possibly be how they make money/break even for selling their other figures at a lower price considering how much money goes into making/changing the molds, and giving them over-the-top deco's?

Yes, I am definitely open to that theory. However, as you previously stated it seems that this time around, the decos are more different than more plentiful (like with Defensor). The Takara edge for the UW line is more the mold use rather than the "extra" deco.

Oh right yes! And yeah, totally, these contracts with hasbro asia to distribute their toys could be a great source of income.
I also think that the reason they can have a higher production cost is because their cost of engineering is greatly mitigated by Hasbro comissioning them to come up with it.
