Within the past two weeks, this new series of Botbots has been quietly making its way across the world and now we rounded up all the news about it, just to get us all up to date.

For starters, this 5th series continues the gold rush games and the bubble will be yellow (chartreuse). It is made up of redecos, retools and new molds with new themes like air travel and asian food.

TF-fan kev777 found them on Entertianment Earth:

After seeing Starscream post in the botbots thread about an online retailer having some Series 5 in stock and on pre-order, I checked entertainment earth and they have the 8-packs in stock as well along with photos and the new tribe names.

The generic travel group is the Frequent Flyers and the generic Asian food group is the Hibachi Heats

The website has its wires crossed though, since the orders for what they call wave 5 are here but the listings with mages of wave 5 are here. That later listing, even though wrongly named, has the right info pertaining to series 5 inside.

The 5 packs were found at Target in the US within this time as well and bearytrek wrote in to let us know (that is his photo we see below). Those are the Party Favors and Los Deliciosos teams.

Series 5 was first found in the UK before any official announcement.

Apparently the crossed wires are because the cases for these are labeled series 4. This has led to some speculation (I stress that it's just speculation) that this wave wasn't even supposed to ship to retail until April.

Amazon has the Series 5 8-packs up for pre-order with a ship date of April 1st. They have them both for $14.99 each, which is a relief since they have the series 4 8-packs for $16.49 for some weird reason.

Greetings all. Fellow Seibertronian TF-fan kev777 has let us know that the Botbots series 5 8-packs featuring the Frequent Flyers and Hibotchi Heats are now available on Amazon for pre-order! The 8-packs are priced at 14.99 USD each with a release date of April 1st and can be found at the links below.

https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-TRA ... 11&sr=8-21?tag=seibertron07-20&

https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-TRA ... 11&sr=8-19?tag=seibertron07-20&

The Frequent Flyers bots are themed as items you might take with you while traveling such as a backpack, sun glasses, camera (that is slightly reminiscent of Reflector color-wise) and travel pillow, while the Hibotchi Heats are food themed bots you might come across at a hibachi style restaurant as the names suggest.

With pre-orders going live it shouldn't be too long until we start seeing the series 5 8-packs pop up at brick and mortar retail as well. Keep your eyes peeled!

Have you pre-ordered these sets? Are you ready to add even more of these wacky characters to your ever growing Botbots collection? Let us know in the comments below and keep it tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers needs!

Yes! Me, too! It's funny because some stores around here still have Wave 1 packs. Also, since I wasn't expecting to find them any time soon, I never looked up the "recommended buys" for this wave to see which ones entailed the least number of purchases to collect all the figures. Ergo, I stood there for about ten minutes debating which ones to buy, slowly whittling down my choices to four, then two simply based on which ones appeared in the fewest packs. Turns out the last two I eliminated were the "recommended buys," and the two I bought were superfluous. The figures I'd assumed were rare were going to be readily available in the five-packs. :BANG_HEAD:

I spent a good 15 minutes in store trying to read tfwiki on my phone and determine who the hell each one was to figure out which 5 I needed. It was a pain, but a success. I'll be using them as rewards for my youngest (and me) for good behavior during the shutdown.

Seibertron.com was provided by Hasbro with a Promotional Box containing a large batch of the Series 4 and 5 Botbots, advertised under the moniker of "Goldrush Games". It appears that this set of Botbots is meant to be a large training and gaming set, and to go along with that, the Transformers Official Youtube Page uploaded an exclusive stop-motion video showcasing all the botbots in the set training in the gym for the Goldrush Games. We get to see a lot of fun stuff in this roughly two and a half minute long video, including some boxing, some lifting, some sword fights, and more!

You can check out the full training video below, as well as some images of the promotional box set that Seibertron was sent. Let us know what you think of this Goldrush Games box and the training video in the comments section below!

We have word of a story in Newsweek magazine regarding one of the more interesting lines in all of Transformerdom, BotBots! The article touches briefly on the origin of Transformers brand as a whole, but mostly describes how the Transformers BotBots line from Hasbro came to be - what the inspiration was, and how the design team, led by Senior Design Director Marcelino Paulino, comes up with the figures, and the backstory. Also interviewed is Senior Director of Global Brand Marketing Ben Montano

The idea of BotBots and how they came to be stemmed from a meeting in the office of Senior Director of Global Brand Marketing Ben Montano. Talking with his team of designers, [Paulino] posed a simple question: "how do we create everyday objects that have more than meets the eye feel and what would it look like?"

Image

Image

Montano, in particular, is also quite a fan of the silly nature of the BotBots line.

"We wanted to keep the property a little bit loose, Paulino's team really brought what an apple or a sneaker brought to life would be," Montano said. "The seriousness that is most of our storytelling. just felt like it wasn't the best place to play here."

You can read the full article by clicking here, or on either of the pictures above. It's an interesting look into a line that doesn't get a ton of attention, but surely has its devoted fans.

Do any of you collect this line? Have your favorites to show off he here? Feel free to do so, and discuss the article below!

I see BotBots as nothing more but Shopkinformers, though the photos taken with them have tons of imagination and creativity when used with other figures.

For those of us with kinds who love the Botbots and reading (or for us grown-up who love backstories), there is a Botbots level 3 reading book on Amazon for pre-order due for release in July. I already secured one for my youngest's birthday in August, so the timing is perfect with me.

I like Botbots, don't get me wrong, but who are they kidding?

Let's be honest, the idea came to them as, "Shopkins are popular. How do we jump on that bandwagon?"

Greetings Seibertronians! This one goes out to the fans of Transformers BotBots, one of the more popular recent additions to the Transformers franchise and a boon to those who love posing their transformers in amusing situations, like Beast Wars Masterpiece Megatron with his rubber duckie.

Target have updated one of their BotBot listings as Series 6 Caffine Collective, listing it similar to others in the series so far and mentioning this name repeatedly in the product descriptions. We knew from the last Toy Fair that series 6 was happening but this gives us the name and theme of one of the new teams. The pictures used for the item though are those advertising series 5, the gold rush games.

Image

*Important*

Anyone buying this will not receive this series 6 Team. Instead they'll receive Series 5 Hibochi Heats 8-Packs.

This team isn't out yet and hasn't been officially revealed by Hasbro. All we have is this name.

You excited to catch more BotBots? Think these will give your collection a caffeine buzz? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

I'm not sure if anyone really cares at this point, but we did get confirmation that The series 1 Lost Bots Dimlit and Bonz-eye were both from the Shed Heads tribe and there was no series 1 Lost Bot from the Jock Squad.

The source is the Lost Bots book that came out and I've been reading to my youngest every night this week.

Botbots vehicles are coming! While we have very little details, we now have an image to go with some product codes referring to Transformers Botbots vehicles. These seem to be $20 sets where a botbots can have their own vehicles to drive. We've seen this in the tail end of the G1 era with transformers having their own vehicles and now they are bringing this playstyle back for a new generation. The image is below featuring what they call the Ruckus gang. We can see the vehicle Pizza and the Vehicle controller, which resembles the Batwing of sorts. You an view the various codes and pricepoints for those and other upcoming Botbot toys. Seems like this line is coming back in a big way. All of this is courtesy of fellow Seibertronian JTPrime17.

yeh, pretty cool. People are seeing this as a return to those Computer Warrior toys. I know Cobotron would get a kick out of these too if he were still around the boards.

I completely forgot about those toys for a moment there. I had a few of them as well!

I find these fun, but I wish they’d have a 3mm or 5 mm peg so they could interact better with full size Transformers. I currently have a few sitting on Jetfire’s shoulders and one on PotP Inferno’s ladder. These vehicles look fun too though.

I hear you, to me the biggest oversight was not making the handle for Clogstopper 5mm, its just a little too big.

Dang that's cool, I've avoided the fifty bazillion waves of the ikkle things but having the pizza ones in the pizza might have to be done. The control pad will go well next to the console Prime and Megs.

Oh he does, we've talked about it.

I find this so stupid in a great way and both my wife and I are excited to see what happens

I really dug Computer Warriors. I had the Pepsi can and a couple of the single carded figures with those transforming circuit boards.

I'm not 100% sure which one you mean. There was an orange one in series 2 that sort of looked like a large laundry soap dispensor, but was actually like a mechanic's hand soap called Gorrilla Grimes. That one was also redecoed blue in Series 5 and called Flood Jug.

Are either of those the ones you are looking for?

Yes, Gorilla Grimes, didn't know he was a mechanic's hand soap.

I think I should do a top 5 Gorilla TFs who are not Optimus Primal, it seems to be quite the recurring animal in our hobby.

I'd like that a bunch. You don't monkey around with your lists, they're very appealing.

I am ecstatic that we finally get a guinea pig figure. After the phrase "guinea pigotron" in Autobot Run and the cavisetticon in Animals this is long overdue. (Yes, I do have pet guinea pigs. How could you tell?)

Vomit? A latex glove? I don't know if I'm excited or disturbed.

I love that one is an Autobot symbol. There had better be a Deception retool/shared engineering in wave 7.

There are some very cool figures in there, great stuff! But having the toys a year after the show debuts seems like a bit of a miss...then again, it's on Netflix so it'll probably be around for a while.

I think I've found the first Transformer my wife will buy for herself! Although I bet she'd prefer a more friendly bot-mode face...

Today had 2 huge reveals. We got a really good look at the upcoming Blitzwing, which has the entire community talking, and the entire 6th series of Botbots was revealed. While we newsed all that asap for you to be in the know, I'd like to take a moment and highlight a few BotBots just so you too can join in on the fun. One of the BotBots is a robot that transforms into the Autobot logo/symbol. That is wild. But there is wilder. The BotBots now also turn into animals. this brings on a whole new dimension because these are not just inanimate objects gaining sentience but living pets turned into robots. And one of those is a cat who turns into a cat lady. There is almost nothing robotic about that design. And the tail becomes a cane (or whip). This is truly thinking on another level and I simply wanted to share it in case you missed it. These two might make you want to see what other gems are found across this massive reveal and you can see all the rest here.

I didn't seen the face until later, but I definitely agree it is not ideal. Hopefully we also get some later versions with different fur and face patterns.

This one is my favorite, a Megatron inspired transforming Kremzeek. I love it!

Anyone else get Beast Wars Happy Meal vibes from some of the animal ones? The dog especially does it for me.

That dog reminded me instead of the sabretooth minicon. Aside from the cat and the cricket I must say I am not a fan of those animals.
