With import sites charging significanly more for the June and July releases of Takara's Deluxes in their Power of the Primes line, there was still a hope that it meant the deco might differ from the Hasbro counterparts. We now have images from Dengeki Hobby showing us that it is not the case. As with every toy part of this line, the releases are the very same as the Hasbro versions (both in the in fact that they are released individually and look the same).
However, this gives western fans something truly amazing that we never had before. The marketting technique of Hasbro and Takara have varied wildly in the past with Hasbro releasing official images of products using 3-d renders while Takara usually has high quality images of the actual finished product showing all of its possible configurations/gimmicks. Well, since both lines are the very same, this means that western fans can now be treated to this kind of marketting for toys they do not need to import.
So below you will see images of the finished figures from the Power of the Primes line, well posed, well transformed, and showing all their possible configurations in terms of accompanying accessories. These are newsworthy for both lines since it shows us the finished product for Blackwing, Sludge, Snarl, Submarauder and Moonracer in poses and angles we did not see yet. Same for Volcanicus. We also have images of the products that came out in the west but not in Japan yet like Starscream. Regarding this toy, there is no combiner name given for the Starscream combiner.

You know, in some of these shots it almost looks like the little hfg should actually be a little transformer themselves, especially these new ones. I also wish that volcanicus was a little more built up at the waist but I do like him, still not sold on starscream as a torso but I love his robot mode so yay for extra playfeatures.

Still don't like Moonracer, her legs look awful.
The Dinobots, warming up to them though i still think they would have been better if they were all voyager class figures and didn't have the combining feature.

I was really hoping Takara would do something different with Starscream since I hate the stickers on the Hasbro one and is the reason why i haven’t gotten it yet.

That's pretty strange because in the final product images you could see that the trailer has
symbols and Nemesis Hot Rod an 
symbol. And if I remember right, the chest parts are the same in normal mode and evolved Prime mode. So either that's a last minute change or it's a KO. A pretty early one

If it's a KO, it's a very convincing one. It even has the batch code embossed on the back of the box... I learned that one from JelZe!

Blame it on stupid toy accurate decos. If it was cartoon accurate it would have been all grey. I never understood why people want toy inspired decos on cartoon inspired molds. All those toy accurate decos homage the worst of gang molding choices, lack of paint apps, and ugly stickers.

They even changed the promo images on the box. But it's not that big of a deal. B/c they'd be crappy under-colored figures, one of the reasons the newer mp's aren't receiving the mass love they used to, the show colors are lazy at best, monochromatic at worst, I never buy the figure with the more subdued color scheme, and, judging from comments going back a ways, a lot of people feel that way too.

We got a news tip recently sent into us by a visitor to the site, and it's a big one! Power of the Primes Leader Class Rodimus Unicronus (the Shattered Glass inspired redeco of Wave 1's Rodimus Prime) has been found at a Walmart in McPherson, Kansas! This marks the first verified sighting of the figure anywhere in the U.S. (and perhaps the world), as well as being the first Wave 2 figure to be found at retail! Have any of you Seibertronians found any new Power of the Primes figures (Wave 2 on up), anywhere in the world you happen to be? To me, it's more of a matter of principle. The toy is designed specifically as Rodimus under the influence of Unicron. This doesn't make him a Decepticon; Unicron is not affiliated with the Decepticons. This just seems to come down to Hasbro's reluctance to stray from the Autobot: good, Decepticon: bad structure. They appear to believe children just won't understand any variation to the formula, and I believe they're not giving kids enough credit. My son is eight (cliche I know) and when he sees a
, he goes, "Woah! An evil Autobot!" He gets it. I think most kids would get it.

This is true. I still find it to be a very uninspired approach. There's nothing wrong with throwing a little more variety in the mix. I don't remember any kids my age being like, "Maximals? Predacons? What's going on? My litle brain can't handle all these factions!!!"

I had little difficultly transitioning into the other named factions that came after Beast Wars because I had others explain it all to me as it was happening. But let me tell you, I sure was royally confused I was when RiD rolled around in 2001 and it was "Autobots vs. Predacons" when, before that point, everyone told me that the Autobots and Decepticons were the ancient ancestors of the Maximals and Predacons, so instead of it being either "Maximals vs. Predacons" or "Autobots vs. Decepticons", it was neither and that felt weird to my little childlike mind. Then once I got used to it, the show went and introduced the Decepticons in addition to the Predacons, making it then be "Autobots vs. Predacons and Decepticons".

I'm a Beast Wars kid and, for me, that was because I never knew about Autobots and Decepticons beforehand. AmiAmi orders are up for wave 2. Looks like there's a few extra photos in there, but I can't be bothered to look through all of them. Grimlock's are kinda goofy, though.

I do really hope they give us two more fembots to complete a combiner made up of Elita's cartoon team. There's still Greenlight and Lancer to touch on. Chromia is a candidate too, but because she already has a generations toy, it should be one of the other two.

Does anyone know what the rectangular pegs on the sides of Starscream's legs are for? What about the ones on his wings next to the 5mm holes?
Also, am I doing something wrong or do the null ray's not peg into the upper arm peg holes in vehicle mode correctly?

So what? Doesnt the Titanium line predate the SG concept? Those are indeed Motormaster colours (the main component of menasor) and the alt mode having the bulk part be the integated trailer works with how Motormaster has been portrayed in toy form. I dont see it being that much worse than these redecos representing a similar character:

might go that way because they are the guys for cartoon accuracy but even they didn't decide to do it. Maybe that whole "trademarks uniting" nonsense is just an excuse for them to not do that because they know it wouldn't sell well.

The Target I visited last night had two Screamers from batch V-2976B. Interestingly enough, it seems like one did not have the corrected port and one did. I think the one I got is the revised one right?

*He interacted with Megatron/Galvatron in major story points in the Armada/Energon series.
*He possessed Megatron in the TF Prime series.
How much more interaction with the Decepticons does Unicron have to have to be "affiliated" ?
At the end of the day the fandom is divided on Shattered Glass. Half of the Botcon/TFCC fans loved it, the other half thought it was really dumb. Hasbro liked the character, but decided to go with the more trusted method of bringing him in the fiction, rather than swim in risky waters.

He interacts a lot with Decepticons because they share interests and because HE and them are both the bad guys. BUT Unicron is not a Decepticon. Why should he join them if he can just use them? And therefore he has no interest in turning Hot Rod from an Autobot into a Decepticon.
