It can be collapsed in to shorten it.

His actual fusion cannon, as demonstrated by Takara photographers, is located on the other end of the cannon. Just flip it around, and you're golden.

Entertainment Earth is where I got them from.
I also have them on order from Robot Kingdom and at BBTS. My solution nowadays is basically to order cases from everyone and sell off the extras when I get them via the Seibertron.com store. That way I get them from wherever they come into first. I'm done with retail hunting. It's much easier to just buy cases everywhere, especially now that I've got two little ones and am photographing the boxes anyways for the Seibertron.com galleries.

The person who took these pics mistransformed the cannon. This is the right way:Rated X wrote:They sacraficed the iconic shape of megatrons arm cannon to make it a stupid tank barrel. Can't speak for all of us, but this will be bought on sight as soon as it gets to my neck of the woods.

I'm in the same delema as Chuck. The wave 1 has shown up in retail here but I have already paid for dragstrip and have the other stunticons on preorder so its a toss up whether I should just cancel my preorder and wait till wave 2 comes into retail or just wait the preorder out as we might not end up getting wave 2 here in New Zealand

I discovered Robot kingdom at the end of the year when Wave 1 CW hit so I grabbed those just to get them to review. I pre-ordered wave 2 with them beginning of January, then they got delayed. Can't cancel them now so I hope they come soon.

As for the legs, I don't think they look all that "spindly." G1 Megatron, toy or cartoon model, didn't have beefy legs, or arms for that matter. I think part of what makes the legs look too skinny for some is that his arms are THICK. Megatron's got GUNS.

Looking at some close up shots of Megatron's chest, I can't figure out where those stickers actually fit, without covering up already existing sculpted and painted detail. Also, where does that "grill" sticker go?

I was wondering this too. I think those stickers are smaller than the picture alludes. Look how tiny the insignia actually is on the toy.Wolfman Jake wrote:Looking at some close up shots of Megatron's chest, I can't figure out where those stickers actually fit, without covering up already existing sculpted and painted detail.

You could argue that pegging the ax sideways enhances the experience. Personally I think the chest closed looks closer to that G1 drone

it looks like the same sticker that went on the scope barrell/arm cannon on the g1 toy but there is only one the g1 toy had two

Saw another review. So the turret can be shortened. And the position of the canon is reversed. Aside from that, oooooooooooooooooh can't wait for May 2015! And does functional treads...........! They managed to implement it for the leader scale.....AWESOME!

If they had ups-ized this mold/design to a voyager with greater articulation and better proportions (probably possible in a larger size class), I would have been all over it.
Why?

The little car was attached 'as is' on our buddy Menasor back in 1985, so he's accurate in that sense. Consider yourself lucky he has a robot mode this time. Respect your geewun, young punk!

I know, I kept waiting at the end of the video for him to at least put him next to CW Prime, but all we got was MP's and a third party figure. We know he at least had Silverbolt. That could have given us some idea of how he scales with the newer Voyager figures.

this mother has working rubber tracks... what other tf can claim that? I mean i was thrilled to pieces with bludgeon so this is definitley a step up though they could've still made that cannon a bit better. maybe if it separated in 2.
Anyhow this will definitely lead the chug decepticons into battle.

If I am correct, this megatron is actually a lil shorter Than mp -10.
I love the look of this megatron, but not to be used as a stand in mp megatron though.
If they were to have made the arms a lil slimmer, it would look more balanced. That's my only gripe with this megatron right now

Yeah, EE has a good deal too! I was going to get from there originally after BBTS sold out, but I'm on the fence about Armada Megatron. I might pick him up next month though when I have a little bit more money.

BBTS has them both still available for preorder too, for the same price as EE. That's where I get most of my stuff because of their POL feature, and the fact that they are just over the St. Croix river from me so I get stuff uber fast..
And no, I don't work for them, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night... (Let's see, any more product placement/advertising I can do? )

The Takara's United version is the best iteration of that Megatron. If this new Megatron were even just ultra sized, he would be a shoe-in for my Classics display.

As I've written elsewhere...Overall, I'm really looking forward to this Megatron, which looks better than his CHUG nerf-gun version. He's no Masterpiece, but he's the best HasTak G1-like Megs I've seen in a very long while. Generally, I've felt blah about many of the Megatron toys in the past, which leads me to a comparison of the Megatrons throughout the years...
RID/2000 Megs, though cool, didn't evoke "Megatron" to me, and seemed like a DeathSaurus type of toy/character.
I never cared for Armada Megs' moose antlers, and I love Energon Megs, but he's really G1 Galvatron.
Cybertron Megatron was a wacky-colored Unicron mash-up; the silver "Galvatron" was better.
Movie 1 Megs was a weird monster-faced, space-jet thing, like the Animated version, although the Animated Helicopter Megatron was cool. Movie 2 Tank Megatron was good, except for the stupid gimpy arm, and Movie Tanker Megs was Ok, but never got a decent Leader Mold.
Prime Megatron, like his Movie 1 counterpart, disappointed with a weak space-jet mode again, although his bot mode was Ok too.
WFC/FOC Megatron was good but deserved a Voyager or Leader mold, Titanium Megs was cool, but over-simplified.
We never got an Alternator Megs, a Cadillac concept would have been awesome though. Alternity Megs was Ok, but too small & not widely available like Alternators were.
IDW Megatron is cool, but again he should have been larger, & though I love my MP05, he's lanky, fiddly, delicate, and overly complex.
So this Combiner Wars Megatron is a large(ish), G1-like version that looks more promising than anything else for a very long while. He's not perfect, but he's the best I've seen these many years. Until MP Megatron version 2 comes out, this is my best substitute.
Posted by Carnivius_Prime on February 8th, 2015 @ 10:43am CST
I've mostly skipped over a lot of Transformers the past couple years (bar a few AoE ones like Evasion Prime, Voyager Grimlock and the more recent Bumblebee, I just prefer the more complex realistic movie stuff over simplistic blocky cartoon TFs) and Combiner Wars just wasn't doing anything for me at all (nor was Hasbro's constant and annoying habit of having characters on opposite factions sharing molds) but this one I am tempted in buying.
I don't say it often but nice job on this one Hasbro/Takara.
