The two are compared side by side (note, the Takara version of Fastlane is on the left in the first image below, but on the right everywhere else), and you can check them out in our mirrored sequence here, along with Shuffler and Bigfight (which comes with LG59 Triplechanger Blitzwing). In addition, at the end of it all, we have some images of attempted combinations for Overlord Tera, the 'combined mode' of the Hasbro and Takara releases of the toys, as seen in the pack-in manga covered [url/transformers/news/scans-of-takara-legends-manga-lg60-overlord/40559/]here[/url], and step by step on how to create it are here.

Probably around the same as the God Ginrai box set minus Minerva and Cab since Takara Tomy doesn't usually inflate prices astronomically on exclusives like Hasbro sometimes does.

Unless it is released as an E hobby exclusive
Or a Masterpiece.

Definitely not. If it's going to happen at all it'll be ehobby, ttmall or a convention exclusive.

How could a Legends figure be released as a MP?
ZeroWolf wrote:I would probably bet on e-hobby (watch them announce it as a ttmail exclusive just to spite me )
I doubt they'd show an e-Hobby figure in the Legends comic ahead of its announcement. In fact the only e-Hobby figure I can think of that has appeared in the mass retail comics is Grand Scourge.
Typically e-Hobby exclusives aren't bigger than a Voyager so box set featuring two leaders feels extremely unlikely. This really does feel more like an Takara Tomy Mall exclusive if it were made.

It was stated that Takara doesn't usually "inflated prices", to which others, including myself, have examples of where we thought Takara HAS inflated the price. My example was with the recent MPs, such as Dinobot.

That's absurd for MP dinobot. He is almost entirely made of small panels, which means extremely high parts count, lots of man hours in r&d, and a high assemble time, not to mention they're probably all pinned into place, and the electronics to boot...

You missed the context. We were talking about the price of a potential Legends exclusive not being inflated, that's why they mentioned e-Hobby as a counter point (though it's unlikely they'd get an exclusive that big). Suddenly bringing up MPs didn't have anything to do with the hypothetical Legends figure we were talking about.
I don't see anything wrong with the price of MPs including Dinobot. As long as they can justify the price (which I feel they did with Dinobot) it isn't inflated. Maybe padded, but not inflated.

The matter is subjective. I view current/upcoming MP prices as inflated, relating to the points about Takara inflating prices. You may not agree, but my point still stands.
Moving on.

Same goes for the other side really. No one really knows how much a TF costs to develop and market, it's really just people deciding which side of the fence to fall on.

Like I said, it's subjective. I feel that the price is too much. TT could have left some of the extras out of the final product, and reduced the price, IMO.
Anyway, postie just sent me something from Amazon.
What do you think it is?
1/ Something boring from a relative (probably gloves, or a pillow, or something)
2/ The toys we're discussing in this thread.
3/ Pages of hate-filled vitriol and assorted animal cadavers from some of Seibertron's long-suffering admim team.
Answers on a postcard to "PLEASE shut up,Primal. Seriously, you're about as funny as cot death."

I'm confused. Surely pictures of the the recent Takara Tony Legends Toyline in the thread of the same name is perfectly fine? After all, this thread is full of them.
Would you like to see my pictures of these toys? If you're nice, I'll do it, but only because it's you, and I love you.

But I've yet to see you post any. You wanted people to play a guessing game, this is not the thread for that.
You have now ignored my two directives to stay on topic. This is your final chance, guessing games belong in an entirely different thread. If you choose to ignore this directive, you will receive a warning. I don't see how I can make this any clearer to you.

It's really one of those "Schrödinger's cat" moments, though, isn't it? It could, depending on the POV, be both on and off-topic, right?

Technically, it's a cartoon. Comics usually have 2 panels or more:

It's a good job that you didn't call it a "Manga", even though it's actually set in Japan.

Grand Max and Greatshot are still scheduled for March unless something changes. March releases were supposed to be those two, Encore GF Convoy, that pile of Legends, some Movie the Best guys, and Darth Vader because Takara Tomy hates our wallets. But with all of these delays it isn't particularly helpful.

Indeed. Usually, they are rather good for Japanese wallets, as they release around the 25th of each month, which you probably know is pay day in Japan. You live in Japan, right?

Not even close, but I've been taking part in their pop culture for over 25 years now so I'm aware of that. A lot of companies do have their big releases at the end of the month, but TT tends to spread them out just a little bit which makes lumping so many big money releases together very confusing. There aren't any mid March holidays that would have made releasing stuff difficult so I really don't know what their plan was.

When Takara first announced their version of Overlord, expectations were high, I feel Takara met and exceeded those expectations. The deco is top notch and the double Headmasters are a nice touch but for me, the icing on the cake is the inclusion of new molded detail in the chest, representing the original engines of Mega and Giga. Takara Legends Overlord is probably the best version of Overlord we're going to get outside of a Masterpiece figure.

Posted by Sabrblade on January 30th, 2018 @ 7:41am CST
Posted by primalxconvoy on January 30th, 2018 @ 8:02am CST
- Overlord has got a vestigal joint just before his crotch plate (under his abdomen). It seems to be missing a part that would clip in and move up and down.
- Blitzwing's feet, and the rear lower leg covers scrape easily against each other, due to a lack of clearance. I suspect this is because in the Hasbro version, both of these parts are not painted?
