Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Director Michael Bay spoke with
MTV.com recently and revealed a big spoiler (or maybe not) concerning the upcoming sequel to the 2007 blockbuster movie.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
In a very blase response, Michael Bay explains why he decided to kill off female Autobot Arcee.
"You know what? I didn't like Arcee," the filmmaker revealed exclusively to [MTV] Thursday night, "so I kill her later, all right?"
Not stopping there, he went on to describe his reasoning behind the death of the short lived character.
"You know what? It's like actors," he explained, comparing his Transformers to flesh-and-blood stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. "There are certain actors that blossom on screen, and there are certain others where you're like, 'Yuck, I'm cutting them out of the movie.' "
"This isn't sad," he grinned, discussing Arcee's sudden death. "This is just 'get it out and get it over with.' "
Bay also disclosed that Arcee IS NOT the motorcycle ridden by leading actress Megan Fox.

Transformers Generations 2009 Vol. 1 got released in Japan. I snagged a copy yesterday and I'm glad that I did. It is a feast for Japanese Transformers fans.
This book is very similar in style and presentation to the Japanese Transformers Collection 2007 book. In fact, this book begins where Transformers Collection 2007 left off.
There are 100 pages of photographs, captions (in Japanese), drawings, and a mini comic. The purpose of the book is to showcase all of the TakaraTomy Transformers from the past two years, which was executed very well. You'll find lots of detailed pictures showing numerous angles and gimmicks for each figure. In some cases, may be too much. Everything is printed on high quality paper, which allows magnificent detail to be shown. Each figure gets 1-4 pages. The book covers Henkei, Alternity, Binaltech, Masterpiece, Encore, Marvel Crossover, and miscellaneous figures like exclusives and branded labels, like Music Label.
Alternity Convoy is the first thing you'll encounter when you open the book. A whopping 10 pages are devoted to him. Takara isn't pulling any stops with this little guy's promotion. Too bad his release date couldn't be as determined. Alternity Megatron is not featured in this book.
The Henkei figures cover all of them from Optimus Prime to Dinobot. Japanese exclusives are also shown. Each figure is displayed in 2-5 shots. A frame with the Hasbro version is included for comparison. The only Henkei figures not included were Red Alert, Smokescreen, and the Minibots (they'll probably be in volume 2).
For the Binaltech & Masterpiece section, expect to see: Arcee, Blue Streak, Argent Meister, Convoy, MP US Edition Starscream, MP Thundercracker, and Grimlock. The details of Grimlock include the transformation process. Sorry...can't give away secrets...
The Encore section is another worthwhile feature. The book covers the figures from Ironhide through Hoist. (Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave were covered in Transformers Collection 2007). The cassettes and Bruticus were not included, but they will probably be in the next volume.
The miscellaneous figures include: Disney Label, Music Label, Marvel Crossovers, and Encore exclusives. Chrono Label is not included.
Now for the fun part! The reason why this book is called "Generations" is because it connects all 25 years (And if you’ve been paying attention - you'll also know that is the campaign theme on Takara Transformers website).
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/TF/25th/25th.html
So, where the first half of the book focuses on the present; the second half focuses on the past. The entertainment begins with G1 Optimus Prime. Have you ever imagined attending an Optimus Prime party? Take every G1 Optimus Prime ever made (legitimately by Takara & Hasbro) and let them strut around on twelve pages. There are over two dozen Primes, and they all want their picture taken. It's like a Prime convention. What is particularly cool about having all the Primes together for a family reunion is that you can see all the big and small variations between each figure, trailer, andor box. Attendees at this party include Diaclone Prime; 1984&85 Prime (first, second, and third runs); Pepsi exclusives, Goodbye Convoy, Lucky Draw, G2, New Year Specials, Commemorative Series, etc?Eunning all the way up to the present. Prime fans might want to get the book just for this alone.
The other cool feature of this book is the concept art. Some very intriguing, old, and outlandish drawings have been pulled from some dusty archive hidden below Takara's HQ. There are drawings of Powered Convoy (Ultra Magnus) with armor resembling Go-Bot power suits; motorcycles for instance, are used for his arms and legs. Other cool drawings include a Robotech looking Prime featuring a different transformation and a trailer that transforms into a combat vehicle; Mirage, Inferno, and Sludge are also included, in addition to a slew of others you wouldn't recognize.
I highly recommend this book if you are into concept art and like referencing Japanese figures from numerous angles.

For those of you who recently picked up a copy of the Transformers Movie DVD from Wal-Mart, you may now access some bonus content on the Wal-Mart website with the access code from the DVD package (the DVDs containing this code are packaged with the Bumblebee or Optimus Prime mask, or the transforming Megatron box) or you can simply enter this code:
AllSpark62609.
The
subsite features video a the first day of filming on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We get a quick glimpse of the Audi R8 being chased by three motorcycles, rumoured to be the Arcee bikes, as built by Will Kenefick of
Retrosbk.com.
Enter the code (AllSpark62609) on the Wal-Mart site
by clicking here.
Of note is that the three motorcycles filmed are all different colours. One pink, one blue, one purple. Does this mean Arcee is a combiner bot built from three seperate motorbikes, or could this point towards three seperate robots? Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for more information as it becomes available.

Seibertron member Repugnus has reported another Furman
blog update with another Spotlight announcement.
And this should surprise all of you who have been paying attention to all that Furman has said concerning the future of the IDW comics...
Don't know what's going on?
Maybe this will help:
we’ll just say for now that a certain Jhiaxus has been ‘dabbling’ and Arcee is not happy about it one little bit. In fact, she’s pretty darn homicidal!
Click here to find out more, or simply scroll down to have a gander at the line art for the cover...

TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!!
SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT UNVEILS LENTICULAR COVER FOR TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION DVD
Fan Favorite Artist Don Figueroa Crafts Special Collectible "Transforming" Cover
New York, New York, September 5, 2006 -- SONY BMG Music Entertainment today revealed the collectible, limited-edition lenticular cover for the TRANSFORMERS: The Movie 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD on the DVD’s official Web site. Being released on November 7, 2006, this one-of-a-kind two-disc set has already become one of the most anticipated DVDs of the year.
SONY BMG revealed the first "transforming" image at Comic-Con 2006. When displayed, fans saw for the first time Optimus Prime appropriately situated in a position of prominence. Joining the Autobot leader are Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Blaster and more of the most popular TRANSFORMERS characters. In August, SONY BMG released the second of two Figueroa images. In this piece, Hot Rod - as he transforms into Rodimus Prime - is grasping the Matrix of Leadership as it lights the Autobots’ darkest hour. Above, Unicron begins to destruct, while Galvatron, Arcee and Springer look on.
Since the publication of the two cover images, fans have been speculating about the collectible cover. Beginning today, SONY BMG is providing fans a preview of the lenticular cover on the official Web site of the DVD www.TRANSFORMERSthemovieDVD.com. The image will demonstrate the motion effect of the "transforming" images as the viewing angle changes.
For the 20th anniversary edition DVD, Sony BMG Home Entertainment completely re-mastered and color-corrected the film and will present Optimus Prime, Megatron and the rest of the star-studded Autobots and Decepticons in true splendor through three distinct versions: 16x9 Widescreen presentation, the Autobot Matrix of Knowledge presentation featuring trivia and fun facts about the movie itself; and a full-screen edition.
To further commemorate the 20th anniversary of the film, SONY BMG is providing fans with some extra-celebratory content that lets them track back to the true origins of the TRANSFORMERS. After careful consideration and preparation, Sony BMG has scoured the archives for the best TRANSFORMERS-related footage available, and the DVD will include the original commercials for the toy line and movie -- allowing viewers to see how and where the phenomenon began.
TRANSFORMERS: The Movie features the voice of Orson Welles in his final role, as well as stars Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Casey Kasem, Robert Stack, John Moschitta, Peter Cullen, and Frank Welker. The DVD also features a winning soundtrack featuring the iconic theme "The TRANSFORMERS" performed by Lion, and the popular "The Touch," performed by Stan Bush. The movie, set in 2005, chronicles the efforts of the heroic Autobots to defend their home of Cybertron from the evil Decepticons and Unicron, a huge robotic creature that devours planets.
