NEW INFORMATION - EXTRA HOTEL ROOMS
As many of you have seen from our recent photographs, several members of the TFNation crew recently visited the Hilton to perform preparations for this year’s event. Whilst there we were able to discuss the issues some attendees have raised with bedrooms.
In an attempt to facilitate as many of our attendees as possible, the Hilton has generously provided us with some additional bedrooms for the nights around our convention nights. There will now be accommodation available at the discounted rate on the following nights;
Wednesday 9th August 2017
Thursday 10th August 2017
Friday 11th August 2017
Saturday 12th August 2017
Sunday 13th August 2017
Monday 14th August 2017
Tuesday 15th August 2017
It is very important to note that due to high demand in the area (owing to the Festival of Quilts, and other events) the amount of rooms we will be allocated for these additional nights is likely to be extremely limited. There will be no “top up” rooms made available later – once they are gone, that is likely to be it.
As previously mentioned, only the three convention nights are contracted to us – we are therefore incredibly grateful for the Hilton agreeing to release additional nights at a discounted rate, when they were fully entitled to sell them at full value.
NEW INFORMATION – FAMILY ROOMS AND DISABLED ACCESS ROOMS
Our allocation will now include a small number of family rooms, which will also be presented at a discounted rate. Please note these are ONLY to be booked by families and not by single attendees. Please be mindful of those whose entire weekend depends on this room type.
NEW INFORMATION– TICKET SALES TIME
As previously advised, tickets and hotels rooms will go on general sale on 1st February 2017. We can now confirm that we aim to open sales at 6pm GMT.
For our international friends, this works out as follows;
7pm CET
1pm EST
12pm CST
10am PST
5am AEDT Thursday 2nd
7am NZDT Thursday 2nd
We hope this will provide as many people as possible with a good chance of securing a ticket and that all important bedroom.

Operation: Bob Budiansky to attend TFNation 2017
We are honoured to announce that Bob Budiansky, the man who started the Transformer mythos and gave us so many of the iconic characters we enjoy today, will be joining us for his first UK Transformer event, at TFNation 2017.
Bob’s history goes back to the early 1970’s after his reintroduction to the world of comic books. A passion he would late turn into a lifelong career.
As an editor, illustrator, and writer, mostly for Marvel, Bob witnessed, first hand, some of the most defining years in the industry. He edited titles like Spider-Man, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four and contributed many covers to other titles across the Marvel universe. His involvement on Ghost Rider (with Dave Simons and Roger Stern) spans a period many fans considered as a defining era in the character's history and he created and wrote his own series, Sleepwalker.
And then, there are the Transformers…
Approached by Hasbro in 1983 to create a story line around a series of transforming toy robots, Marvel’s initial material was rejected before Bob stepped in, renaming most of the characters and revising personalities for the likes of Megatron, the Dinobots, Wheeljack, and countless others. He edited the very first Transformers mini-series in 1984 and scripted most of the next 50-plus issues of the US run. He also named and created the character profiles for over 250 of the Transformer toys (yes, the original tech specs) during the first six years of the brand’s existence, developing new story treatments as Hasbro introduced new lines of Transformers. On top of all this, he occasionally even pencilled a Transformers comic book cover or two. Bob’s work on Transformers doesn’t just end there though as he returned to the franchise to write IDW’s Transformers The Movie 20th Anniversary miniseries.
Bob Budiansky will be meeting fans, signing autographs and taking part in panels during our convention, which will run from Friday 11th and Sunday 13th August 2017.
Further transmissions to follow, including an update on 28/01 on the latest ticket and hotel details.

That implied the end—or at least, the irreparable damage—of past convention. There were other nods to event horizon, like iridescent “countdown clock” motifs on blazers and overcoats for men, and full ballgown skirts for women. A graphic opening series of Transformers battling in space was also in the mix, though this bit—and another consisting of all-over studded bric-a-brac on lapels and berets, made with help from Judy Blame—were weak points in Scott’s phalanx. The best—and most piercing—pieces he showed tonight were the relatively simplest. See camouflage trousers worn with a multi-colored marabou coat. The look was suggestive, and slyly very much do ask, do tell.

MIAMI: Two My Little Pony titles lead the slate that Hasbro Studios brings to the market: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.
The company is also promoting Transformers: Robots in Disguise. “All three series continue to achieve high ratings throughout the [LatAm] region and will premiere new content in 2017,” says Gustavo Gomez, Hasbro Studios’ sales director for Latin America and Iberia. “The My Little Pony and Transformers franchises continue to appeal to audiences thanks to their multi-generational fan bases, compelling stories and rich characters.”
“[This] will be a banner year for both brands thanks to major motion pictures that we feel will broaden their audiences even further,” he continues. The upcoming films are My Little Pony: The Movie and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Gomez adds: “Hasbro Studios’ mission is to use immersive, cross-platform storytelling to bring Hasbro’s most iconic brands to kids and families.”
