Just last month Transformers Cybertron: Volume 1 - A New Beginning was released in the United Kingdom. Now Play.com has posted a listing for a Transformers Cybertron: Volume 2 DVD which is set to be released in the UK on November 6, 2006. The DVD is being released by Paramount as was Volume. There has yet to be any news of a release of Transformers Cybertron: Volume 2 in the United States, which seems a little odd since Volume 1 was released in the US long before it came out in the UK. Stay tuned to the SEIBERTRON.com News Section for more information as it becomes available.

We have received word from the people of TFCog.net that they have released their latest project. TFCog.net will be working on a Beast Wars II fan dub. Beast Wars II was released in Japan but never the United States. So if you do not know or understand Japanese, now is your chance to enjoy this series. This is what the staff of TFCog.net had to say about the first release of this series, episode one "The Birth of a New Army":

And here we begin our third ongoing fan dub series, Beast Wars II! With a good, solid cast and some great work, we couldn't be prouder of the episode. Like they say, you only get one chance to make a first impression, right? This series is a great departure from the more action oriented Victory, and Beast Wars Neo (although there are similarities). I feel we were able to convey the original mood and atmosphere in this episode. Some people may not consider that to be a good thing, as this series is very goofy at times, but I think it's a fun series to watch.

The episode starts out with a run-of-the-mill mission with Apache and Convoy. However, things go wrong (as always) and the Maximals are left without Convoy. So without a leader, they have to investigate strange energy readings on the planet Gaia - where the Predacons have already set up shop. What will the Maximals choose for alternate forms? Will they be able to fend off the Predacons, led by the ruthless Galvatron and the psychotic Megastorm? Or will they get slaughtered without a leader, as Scuba predicts? It's an ongoing series, I think the outcome is a little obvious!

We have a lot of actors who although they might not all be new to amateur voice acting, they are new to our projects. That gives everyone a little variety from our other series. Of course, we have TFCog veterans like Frank Todaro, Brad Venable (playing a villain for a change!) and Scott M. As I've said before (multiple times), I think it's a good mixture. I hope most who watch it agree with me.

Now the good part. You can download it from our website, TFCog.net, or log on to the hub and search for "Beast Wars II FDP #1 - The Birth of a New Army.avi" It is a 120 MB download. I'll (NewBrandon) try to have it shared as much as possible, and others will have it aswell shortly. Please use that as a secondary option, as I only have so much bandwidth and the website will likely give you a faster download. The low - er, lesser - quality version will be up shortly.

Feedback is appreciated! Thank you to everyone who watches this, support us, and these people too!

According to Prime Nova, one of our fellow Seibertronians, "Hasbro has finally secured the rights to the name Bumblebee!

"Minicon Sparkplug will be released under that name in the first or second wave of Minicon Battle Packs to secure the name on store shelves. Hasbro is also looking into releasing the G1 toy somewhere. I'm told there are also designs for TWO new Bumblebee toys as well. One for the Alternators and a second for the tail end of Cybertron.

"I think they're serious about keeping the name this time. :)"

Thanks for the information Prime Nova! Keep the rumors coming!!!

EDIT BY SEIBERTRON:

Thanks to Nevermore, we've found out that there's some additional information regarding whether or not "BUMBLEBEE" is an official name. Apparently this has been part of some long standing debates at the other TF sites.

Some information from the United States Patent and Trademark Office:
http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=76634431

A thread has been started at Transfandom.com by Aerosurge regarding this back on July 20th, 2005: http://forums.transfandom.com/invboard/index.php?showtopic=30197 and a thread was started by Nevermore at TFArchive.com back on April 7th, 2005: http://www.tfarchive.com/community/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29877.

The reason this is in the Sludge Report and not in the News section is because it's a rumor - plain and simple. Please keep that in mind when reading this page. When Hasbro or the Government says "no dice" on this name or someone says the name can apply to our favorite yellow Autobot, then it's news. Until then, it's a rumor which has been posted purely for entertainment purposes. Please remember that a rumor is a piece of unverified information to which we make no claim to the validity of this information. Is this information about the "Bumblebee" name fact or fiction? We provide this entertaining rumor so that YOU can decide ...

Since the writers have included Bumblebee in the story for the 2007 Transformers movie from Dreamworks, I don't doubt for a moment that Hasbro and/or Dreamworks are actively trying to secure this name especially if Volkswagen happens to come around and decide that they'd like the Beetle (new or old) featured in the movie. If they want the name "bumblebee" badly enough, Hasbro and Dreamworks might just get it. Just about anything's possible when money is involved.

Keep your fingers crossed ... we might just yet have a BUMBLEBEE once again just around the corner.
