Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.

But I'm tentative of jumping into such a large book series with a lot of interwoven stuff, plus...I learned from my days collecting X-Men and Spider-man that every comic series seems to ret-con or throw excuses around for stories to shift and re-boot all too often, especially when a concept or story is stale, limits things or people just outright hate. (Ben Riley, anyone?) I dunno. I don't like it when long running, well built comics come to a dead end and pull an excuse out of it's arse to somehow restore status Quo. Does this happen much in IDW's TF comics?
Plus...I'm really bad at remembering to pick issues up, especially when I have no where to get them from here. And I prefer cartoons. Still, I can keep up with stuff on TF wiki at least.
Question though; Doesn't Megatron have the black stealth bomber body?
"All Hail Megatron" did a whole bunch of retconning, whose retcons themselves had to be retconned by many many post-AHM issues in order to restore sense and logic in fitting with the pre-AHM Simon Furman stories.Unicronobot wrote:To answer your first line of questions, IDW really hasn't done any retconning at all.

Basically, Furman created a certain special status quo that portrayed the war as a galactic cold war fought in secret with protocols and standards, but then along came Shane McCarthy with All Hail Megatron, which set out to change the scheme of everything into being "like the G1 cartoon, but edgy!" The war was changed into having been started because of the Matrix and things like Cybertron's poisonous atmosphere were hastily neutered with little explanation. The the Mike Costa-penned ongoing came along with wanting to be like a mishmash of G1 with more of a Movieverse feel to it, while also trying to explain some of the retcons caused by All Hail Megatron along the way with newer retcons. Then we come to the current era with both James Roberts and John Barber telling more stories that go off and do their own thing (until "Dark Cybertron", that is) while occasionally patching up any additional continuity errors from the past. 'Course, there's the Flint Dille/Chris Metzen-penned "Autocracy" and "Monstrocity" series that made more retcons, but were more workable with the Roberts/Barber stuff since they kept referencing those.Mindmaster wrote:Umm...

So the retcon retconned a lot of retconning which have retconned the retcon?
Oh God, I've gone cross-eyed...

Roberts, Milne, Griffith, Burcham, Perez and other people working on them have confirmed that there will be (at least) the two ongoings once the crossover is done.
