Soundwave is a boombox with tapes.
Soundwave is a boombox with CDs.
Soundwave is a Walkman with CDs.
Soundwave is an iPod.

BUT SOUNDWAVE IS A MUSIC PLAYER. NOT A TOASTER WITH WHEELS WHO PLAYS GUITAR.

I've never been upset with any changes to the TF franchise or characters, but this upsets me almost as much as Cybertron Soundwave.

Soundwave is my favorite - if you're gonna do him... do him right.

Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
The New movie figs are pretty good I'll be getting some of those. Definitely Cliffjumper, unless they make him a store exclusive or something.

Classics are looking amazing from their drawings. Love that Octane. and Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are just awesome.

From Animated, I can say i like a few, but most of them are just too deformed in alt mode for my tastes. I mean the green Hound homage truck is just a big lump in alt mode, and totally deformed in bot mode. (Whats with those dinky tiny little legs)

Soundwave, looks like something out of MTV's Pimp my ride. I think they should have kept Soundwave for Universe instead of animated. Make him into a military communications truck
Animated Thundercracker is not too bad, but I doubt I'll get him.

The only thing I'm absolutely getting is Bltizwing if the fig is anything like those concept drawings.

Maybe the Dinobots. although Grimlock's T Rex mode reminds me of a Godsuky from the 80's Godzilla cartoon, don't ask me why.

Blackarachnia looks pretty cool One of the less deformed TF's in both modes. I just wonder how they are going to bring a Beast wars character into a vehicle based carton.

Overall the animated series is going to save me lots of money, which will probably get spent in classics, and the new wave of Movie figs.

Going mostly by the sword and head design, I'm guessing Blitzwing?

Hrm, that seems to fit... I was thinking Autobots since I expected it packed with Galvatron, so Blitzwing never even crossed my mind.

I hope they put the Maximal and Predacon symbols on the BW Robot Heroes packaging. using the Autobot and DEcepticon symbols for the BW titaniums was, frankly, lazy, and I'm glad they made titaniumn Cheetor a Maximal. It makes be giddy seeing post-G1 faction symbols put to good use on new toys. (The movie symbols don't count, they're just slightly tweaked G1 insignia.)

I believe Titanium "robo-diaper" Soundwave is a very good example that even if they do him "right" it can still turn out wrong.

Eh, sadly, the best, & worst, thing about transformers is that they change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst, & no 2 people share the same opinion on which is which.

Me, I'll hold out for a "classsics 2.0/universe" Soundwave somewhere down the line.

Classics 2.0 is, of course, gold.
The animated toys aren't really grabbing me. I dislike a few, some have potential, and I will definitely get the Dinobots because they're dinobots. I'll reserve judgment until I actually see them or at least better pictures of them. And animated Megatron looked great!
The movie toys I'm not really interested in. I've passed on nearly all of the previous ones, and I'll pass on these.

Those Dinobot designs are Illin! And the Lambo Bros designs as Classics are solid too! Octane will be a must-have!

Well I have to give it up classics 2.0 octane and antimated prowl both figure look incredable. Since I have always liked octane ever since his first appearance in g1 now they only need to do his autobot friend sandstorm as a two pack then we would really have something.

I am really excited for a whole lot of the Animated figures.

Also, I am thinking that Soundwave's guitar... might just turn into Lazerbeak.

I'm really enjoying it all. Everyone should be happy since we get more classics, movie stuff, and then animated for people who welcome change. Personally I've always been a big fan of animated style characters being done in plastic, so I'm all over them.

Prowl and Blitzwing look to be the only figures from Animated I'll get, with the POSSIBLE exception of Voyager Prime.

we get three dinobots int he show and the other two in Classics, deluxes at that. So you'll have a full set of new dinobots.

EDIT: That clip made my day. I think I'm going to love that show.

We get Sludge and Snarl in Classics 2.0/Universe?? We do??? When was THAT announced?? That ROCKS!  Thanks for the info, I didn't know about more Dinobots in Universe. Very cool.

The Camaro Concept is awesome, and I love it even more in red than I do in yellow. But I'm calling him Windcharger, not Cliffjumper, for G1 reasons.

I like Incinerator's and Lugnut's plane modes, but their lack of hands in their bot modes just kills them for me. I can handle one missing hand, like Shockwave, but two missing hands just looks dumb to me. Its a shame, too, because I would buy both figures as soon as I saw them if they just had hands. Or even just one hand each. Ah well. :?

I like and will most likely get Landmine and Stockade. Like G1 Prime, too, and since he's a voyager he'll actually be affordable.

I love all of the Classics/Universe! Can't wait!

As for Animated, it looks like the fandom is pretty evenly split. I, personally, like most of what I see. As I said, I won't buy Lugnut. And what the hell is up with Bulkhead?? He's a shame, too, because I like his truck mode, but I definately will not be buying him.

Yeah, I like and will be buying all of the Animated figures we've seen so far, except Lugnut and Bulkhead. I like both Primes, and I REALLY like Black Arachnia and Lockdown. I even like Soundwave, although the mold and the guitar seem more like Blaster's style than Soundwave's, so I'm actually hoping we get a repaint of Animated Soundwave into Animated Blaster. Heck, I may not wait for a repaint, I may just get Soundwave and call him Blaster. :-P

And, yeah, I'll definately be calling Starscream Thundercracker. He's still cool, though.

I think the toys for TFA look different and fun, and I'm definately amoung the group of TF fans that would rather have Transformers change over the years instead of stagnate and risk dying like SO many other toy lines.

And I want to thank everyone that posted saying they did NOT like the look of TFA, but could understand how other people could. Overall, this has been a much more mature discussion than discussions in the past. ;)^

NEWS FLASH!

Today a young boy was found collapsed on his desk, suffering 4 consecutive heart attacks. It seems he was looking at some Transformer pictures at the time. It is suggested that no other TF fan view these, or they may suffer the same.

Seriously, they were THAT AWESOME. Animated FTW!

I love the G1-style Prime repaint. That's a must get for the Prime freak. I also really like Landmine. I could have sworn, though, something was mentioned about a Crown Vic police car around Botcon time. Or was that just a misunderstanding from the early Barricade concept stuff?

I'm actually surprisingly happy that Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are redecos... allows for more new molds in the first wave. That means the chances of G1-style Ironhide FINALLY getting a decent figure aren't so remote.

Animated... man, that's going to be a terrific line, from the looks of it. Blackarachnia looks great, I love pimped out Scionwave, and Blitzwing just looks AMAZING. What a great redesign.
