New In Hand images of TFSS 3.0 Carzap and Krok

Carzap has a new head too, based on G2 Windbreaker aka Zap, upon which Block Town Carzap was to be based.

These two are the main reason I signed up for TFSS this year. Krok was my first Action Master, and that mold fits him to a T. Though I'm not a huge fan of the Generations 'Bee mold, I do like it for Carzap. Would LOVE a Windbreaker from the mold.

Car-zap? Looks more like Crap-zap! Woooooooooah!

That pose and those colors on Krok really make him look excellent.

Repeat: like Carzap...hate the weapon even if it is shiny.

Ah, nice! Krok and Carzap were the only two I ordered this year.

Customizers will go wild for Carzap trying to make a Minerva out of him. His plastic colors almost perfectly match her color scheme

We have yet another leak from Weibo! This time Via Toyspie we get our first In-hand images of the Transformers Collectors' Club 2015 Exclusive Nova Prime. Nova Prime is will be a redeco of the TFCC membership incentive figure Lio Convoy, which in itself is a redeco of the Generations Orion Pax mold with a new headsculpt. Heads look so similar I don't see the point in doing a new mold...

A little paint goes a long way to make those side antennae really stand out.

I don't think the head is small, necessarily - just not a great fit for Nova. Leo Prime is fine, IMO.

I liked these, but not enough to bother renewing this year.

Their server had my CC info all screwed up ... AGAIN, and I decided I was done dealing with these clowns.

If there are any figs I REALLY want, I'll pay the two-bits to get them through BBTS or at a convention.

Wow. I had a lot of worries about these two looking "samey", but wow. Side by side, they look REALLY different. Nice cost-effective way to reuse a mold and head sculpt to deliver two good figures to two different fan groups.

Nova looks pretty good. Between him and Lio Convoy, I kinda regret not resubbing. One free figure isn't worth the subscription to me. I guess I will have to watch eBay for Lio Convoy. I kinda want to see what Orion Pax would look like in Optimal Optimus colors.

I have the Orion figure myself but I don't think it goes well with the legends size.



Not due to the size of the mold it just looks to bulky (for lack of better word) compared to legends Bee or Tailgate.

I don't want to hate this, but you're making it so difficult not to. The head doesn't fit for the lineage of nova prime, it's poorly painted, granted that could be because it's a stolen Chinese test shot. It amazingly looks like a monochrome lio convoy, oh and did I mention the head looks terrible, both forthe chcharacter, and in regards to sculpt.

I wish they would do a retail rerelease of RM lio convoy. If you're just displaying them in bot mode, that head would look much better. but of course Legends Commander Lio Convoy is 60+ T.T

I am actually liking that Nova. I make have to try to find a deal on a Lio Convoy and a Nova Prime in the b/s/t threads. If these were regular retail I'd absolutely grab them.

Yeah, I hope Hasbro/Takara designers can take a cue and start PLANNING for future head swaps... leave a little extra space instead of building only enough space for that one head.

Given, I know each toy design is its own set of problems for designers. Just something I hope they are keeping in mind now.

Why would Has/Tak accommodate what is essentially a TFCC problem? Hasbro shouldn't have to engineer extra room into things on the chance possibility the Club latches on to that mold for their use.

Rather, the Club should be better at engineering their heads. Or invest the additional money to remold the part(s) the head has to collapse into. Showing awesome concept art and failing to deliver on those expectations hurts the Club more than a $5-10 hike per figure for those retoolings would.

Take Protoform X. Had they done a simple retool to expand the opening the head inserts into for vehicle mode (which would require remolding a single piece) that figure would be epic. As it is, he suffers from shrunken head syndrome. Bummer. And now we have to deal with Lio/Nova's squished heads, too. Grr.

What do you mean by allotted? That Hasbro will only let them remold one part, or that they only have the budget for one part?

Why should Hasbro make accommodations for TFCC?... well, it's not JUST TFCC.

Hasbro/Takara are retooling their own toys more than ever... Whether heavy retools like Sandstorm/Springer or GDO/Asia/Cloud exclusives with new heads like Brawn — leaving a little elbow room opens up great options and opportunities for the future. It's just good practice not to paint yourself in a corner, ya know?

Mostly budget. Remember, such parts will only be used once, twice if lucky (Breakdown's head, Thrust's wings), and were it not for budget, 2007 Dirge would have gotten new wings too.

That's a silly point to pick apart, as I mentioned price hikes in my original comment.

^ I'm with you on this. Even if they didn't want to mod it, hand those factory workers some sanding tools and have them shave down a part during the assembly process.

This is of course a statement made as someone totally ignorant to the assembly processes being used, and is made in the hope that this might increase the pay those folks get if it is inhumanely low. Sigh.

Oh, and Edit: What I came here to say was that the Lio Convoy head I could live with, but I think it looks really bad on Nova Prime. Just looks like a White Prime with a funky head now instead of Nova. Bummer too, I was quite looking forward to this one. (Disclaimer: I have no self-control and will still buy it, so take my opinions as you should on club stuff, which is with a grain of salt.)

Well, if the rumor of Nova Prime being Lio Convoy's clone proves true, I can live with the two of them having the same headsculpt.

I was find with the idea even before the text story was posted, so long as the head looked enough like both of them. The notion of the fiction giving in-universe justification for the similarity is a nice bonus.

TCC Nova Prime might not be IDW Nova Prime (not sure what Prime Nova has to do with this, though).

We've seen in-hand images for most of the 2015 Transformers Collectors' Club Subscription figures, including the freebie incentive Lio Convoy, and other such as Car-Zap, Krok, Nova Prime, Nacelle and G2 Starscream - but it never hurts to show some more off, right?
