It helps to know french, at least when you live in Quebec. They have their own forum here and its a great place to hunt down deals as well. I used this guy a bunch of times but this is the first time I go back to him since I started this blog. I am very much your average Joe collector. I like these toys a lot and have fun with them and feel they should be accessible to everyone so that everyone can enjoy them. So when I hear a toy will be made exclusive and hard to find, it's kind of a turn off. Hence why I didn't care much for Hasbro's Quickslinger and Brakeneck (especially Quickslinger since I am already getting the takara superion for a great price). Sure, it was available at online retailers like Walmart and Target, but only in the states. These were never distributed in Canada online. So a 20$ toy becomes a 30$ toy very quickly. And you know me by now, if it's not a deal I am not too itnerested.

However, the guy I buy stuff from on the french site had a Brake Neck to sell for 22$ cdn (17.88$ US). And he works 6 minutes from my office. So I got him during my lunchbreak. So no shipping, no taxes, nothing. Just 17.88$US. Now that's something I am more comfortable spending.

Haha, found some fun stuff in the local adds today:

Image

Thats falcon, a predator jet, and Hurricane, both of which never came to the US. Not complete, which kills it for Huricane, but for 10$ I wont argue. I should be picking them up tomorrow if all goes well.

So what i said in the post above worked out. It was an interesting hunt though. I had to track this person's house down and it was odd. The specific address looked like an unfinished apartment building. I was scared I would lose a kidney.

Image

Image

But it all worked out, I got these 2 guys for 10$ cdn total :D

Image

Then I went to winners/TJMax and they had almost no more TFs. Instead of all thsoe Skrapnels, they were liquidating ultimate spiderman green goblin pretty hard and for some reason got a hold of all those 1 step leftovers from AOE, selling them at 10$, which is pretty nuts to me. If they couldnt sell at that price before... oh well.

It's been a while I havent hunted and the toysrus shelves have changed significantly:

Image

Image

Then went to winners/ TJ Max and saw that they had rescue bot toys. That Optimus was only 29.99 cdn (which is about 22$ US).

Image

And then there was the thrift shop which had a whole swarm I left alone:

It was a crazy hot day which really felt like hunting in the amazon. But this was for TFs.

I found this cool lot online in local adds:

Image

But I have like half of those and dont care for some others (like that giant optimus). So I sent the seller a pic with the ones I wanted circled in red and asked if I could have those for 60$.

Image

He said yes so I went out to go pick them up (super hot day though woah)

And I got them back, all complete and only missing the instructions for Alternators Optimus:

Me too! I even went for the Mindwipe deco and both Sunspot and Skystalker.

I once wrote about which toys I thought were the best throughout history (for each line) and Strafe is very present.

Today's hunt was fun. FINALLY found an Ultra Magnus at TRU. There had been one at walmart for a while but I had a raincheck at TRU to get him for 30$ US and was waiting to see him there. He was there and I got him BUT I was super surprised to see the shelves. Take a look at this, we are nearing October 2016 and they got a brand new shipment of the final wave of movie deluxes AND Rhinoxes and Doubledealers:

Image

I also found this at a second hand store and since I now have a very young daughter I figured it could be fun as a first transformer some day:

Image

This whole pack of junk was only 3.99$

Sadly, it is worth less than that because this is how Optimus looks like once unpacked:

Image

Oh well, live and learn :BANG_HEAD:

Today was a WEIRD day in the hunt. There was stuff everywhere but nothing I needed myself. Firstly, Masterpiece Starscream is now on shelves in Canada. BUT Scalpers already took him all down. I took a pic of it. It was quite heinous actually, I know the guy who is buying them but he sent his elderly parents to take all six of them. I didnt know if I should tell the store manager and I dont think he'd care (he just sold all 6 fill price while I only bought one with a raincheck for 60$).

Image

Image

And the Platinum dinobots are now in quebec as well (they look beautiful by the way, definitely getting this when its on clearance, which it will be, guarantee).

Image

This next part was really odd. Walmart had a whole section of JUST generations skywarp. I dont see how this is possible since he came boxed with other figures. But no, just skywarp, a ton of him, all for 10$ (7.50$ US). I havent seen that toy there for a year.

Image

Image

Also, there is a toy warehouse sale near namur metro that has a bunch of toys that never went to the states (through standard distribution) so the Beast Hunters Commanders and the Kreons:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

And finally, there was a ROTF Leader Prime without feet selling for 2.99 at the goodwill shop along with some pieces of one of the Cybertron Optimus releases as well as another figure (I am thinking a simplified movie optimus.

Image

Image

So yeah, TONS of TF finds in my area. But nothing for me right now.

That scalper thing really pissed me off.

Interesting hunt today, to say the least. Firstly, I walked into a goodwil store looking for some fun stuff. And what do you know but I find G1 Thrust... AGAIN! At the same store too. I have a disease though, it was only 1.99 (1.50$US) I just couldnt say no. And plus buying it is contributing to that store's community/ecosystem. So no regrets. But this makes the 4th Thrust I own. Was he really that popular that everyone had him and that 30 years later people are still giving him away to goodwill places. And only him?!

Image

Image

Anyways, the store also had some mcdonalds RID toys, but now that I have legion fixit, I didnt need the mcds one.

Image

I went to Walmart for some cereal because there is a code inside for a free Hasbro toy. I bought a bunch since they were only 3.88. The coupon would be good til next march and I could use it on any hasbro toy of 15$ value or less so I figures I would use it on all the legends toys I wanted.

Image

But turns out once I entered them online, all these coupon codes were already accounted for (all 40,000 of them!). So I am gonna return these boxes, urgh! (I am keeping the frosted flakes though and one rice crispy one to make some holiday squares).

Toysrus had an amazing array of figures. I had all the ones I wanted but I was impressed to finally see a G1 Megs again. I had only seen this toy once there and that was at the beginning of the year. It was nice to see the nice assortment of Leader figures. Too bad ther eis still some AOE stuff, that poor Snarl :(.

Fun hunt today. Saw this bag at the goodwill place where I had just found my G1 Thrust from a few posts ago. It had the style of a Gobot and after a quick search I found that it was Super Gobot Warpath. Man, these guys had die cast like there was no tomorrow. His transformation is the same as another Bandai owned toy, G1 Whirl.

Image

Image

Got him for 1$

A store called Giant tiger was filled with TFs as well but they were all last year's and I have the ones I wanted:

YESSSSSSSSSSSS

As I said, it only happens once every 2 months or so, but Kijiji has something awesome. For some reason, the toughest toys to get for cheap right now are the cybertron/animated era because they arent so old that they are given away by kids' mothers yet but not new to be resold a lot by collectors (thus there being ltos of competition bringing down the price for the collectors who hope to sell). So you end up with very little of them out there for decent prices. Plus E-Bay is off limits now since my purchasing power was reduced to smithereens by the canadian economy.

And the one I was looking for was Downshift (and crosswise, who still eludes me).

But look what i found on Kijiji:

Some accessories are missing but I will take it!

Cybertron Wheelj- er, Downshift is SUPER good, you'll definitely like him! Cannonball is awesome too, if you don't already have that mold; it's just so unique with the leg transformation, although it does lose the thigh swivel as a result.

K, so I just found this thread (it's great, by the way) and I'm going to try to catch up on some of the discussion.
So, yeah, I go to Target/Wal-Mart/ToysrUs etc. very often, and here in CO, we never saw that last-ish wave of generations figures. Arcee/Chromia/Windblade/Brainstorm/ Cliffjumper/Nemisis Prime, those guys. Never. But, (this is in my opinion one of my greatest TF finds) about 2-2 1/2 months before they were supposed to be released, one of my local Targets had, on clearance, Generations Tailgate, just because they had a crumple in their packages. Picked one up for less than half price.

Also one of my local Grocery stores had, for the longest time, a gigantic selection of Beast Hunters stuff of all sizes. Constantly. Almost like they were still getting it in from hasbro, up until a few months ago when they remodeled it, and refreshed their stock. Now the TF section is down to a few pegs.

This might be a completely weird question (I'm still shedding my Noob skin when it comes to these forums) but if any of us go to a thrift store or the like and do find something interesting or vintage, would/can we post it here? It doesn't seem like it would fit in the haul thread. I don't know, maybe it would.

And also, what is up with the Seibertron Civil War? I obviously missed something...One day I shall not be a noob. One day.

All questions are good! And thanks for liking this thread. I built it as an alternative to show that it's possible to build a collection with a minimal budget. And I wanted to show people examples. Like today (didnt have my camera), I went to the thrift shop I often write about here and found a Prime (rid) deluxe bumblebee for 2$. He was in excellent shape too. I only ever owned the First edition, so I didnt know that this guy actually had great paint apps!

Now to actually anwswer your question (sorry for the wait), if you bought what you found in that thrift store, then yeah you can post about it in the toy haul thread (like Kanrabat did today and like I will when I have time). But, if you just found something cool and didnt buy it but still want to talk about it, then by all means please post it here.

It can be On the TF Hunt with Willy where we check in with what Bronzewolf found in the wild!

I look forward to your posts :)

And about the Civil War, its just that 2 high up admins have their own toys they really care about (at least, in the persona they exhibit on this site) and since we are a good bunch of lower staff, we decided to take sides. Va'al, the head of the News, likes Alpha Bravo while Burn, the head of moderators, really likes G1 Stalker. Now people either side with the toy they preffer or how much they preffer one staff overlord over the other. My signature explains why I chose my side :)

Be sure to ask all your questions, here is the best place!

Thanks very much! Yeah, I figured it was about the admins, just didn't know why. And no need for my own "segment" or anything. though I very much appreciate the offer. Thanks again!

Great find, btw.

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Found an interesting listing lost amongst a bunch of people hoping to be millionaires off total crap.

Anyways, check this little lot. 30$ for everything below, including the scenery

The problem is I only care about hoist and while 30$ for all this aint bad, 30$ just for one figure I like isn't that great either.
