You and me both.

News it if it's the first time we see it fully.

Still, having fun with it. We’ll report later if I have any QC issues.

Looks like this guy sold out everywhere.

What do you mean by "MP standards?" Because that can mean anything.
If "MP" mean being a Masterpiece of something that appeared in media, then this Optimus is certainly not a "Masterpiece." Even looks, quality, and fun varies if you compare, for example, MP01, MP10, and MP44.
For me, this MPG Optimus is definitely MP standard in the MP10 category. He's very nice overall and his transformation is not annoying.

It's not quite on the level of other Masterpiece toys I own in transformation and overall feel. I don't own MP-01, 10 or 44 though so can't compare with those, but compared with say Optimus Primal, Hot Rod, its a simpler more intuitive transformation and a chunkier feel than those. It' feels like a larger retail prime with a few more features, but lacks the overall finesse of those other figures in its transformation and delivery. But I think that was the point of it. It's also not a bad thing, its just not the MP type I am used to

Try to get a MP-01 and a MP-10. Any version, any repaint. MP-01 is huge and heavy with an absurd amount of diecast, plus he's full of mechanical details. As for MP-10, he's pure fun and feels really great in hand. Both can be found easily for a reasonable price. For MP-01, I guess the "battle damage" anniversary edition is the easiest and cheapest to find. As for MP-10, if you're tired of the same ol' Optimus, he's available in a plethora of wacky colors, even if those are usually expensive.
As for the MP-44 mold, it's an easy pass. It does look great, but it is just not fun and it feel like a model kit.
