So I have a bootleg Sailor Mars Figuarts currently sitting disassembled in my cupboard.
I was originally planning on making her into a "Zombie Mars" but then i had an even better idea: make her into a custom figure of Filia from Skullgirls.
I know what you're thinking: "But how on earth are you going to make a slender figure like Rei Hino into a plump and curvy figure like Filia?" Well, that's simple. The Sailor Mars figuarts is largely a basic humanoid female figure, aside from her (removable with some effort) skirt, her shoulder pads and her hair. As mentioned she has been disassembled, thus leaving me with very much a blank slate to work off of. I reckon I should be able to use putty to resculpt her base body to a more...plump state and then add clothing using Sugru (which is flexible and thus shouldn't hinder posing).
The bits I'm dreading the most are redoing the hair (which is mostly in one big solid block; I'm thinking of using wires/paperclips coated with Sugru to make bendable hair-tendrils) and repainting the faces. Still I got her for like £15 so what the hell.
Any advice on doing this?
