Just thought i'd mention it.
I don't mind him being called Fallback - even if it does make him sound a little like he is running away.

His name is actually quite clever, as it was the "fallback" name for the BotCon 2005 figure, plus he's become someone you can "fall back" on

Wait, is Fallback confirmed? Did a new rumour list come out?

What store did you hit up to find those?
It was a Meijer in Ypsilanti, MI.
But I've also seen reports this morning that Walmart and Targets in Michigan are getting them too.
Still nothing up here in Gaylord, though. We always get the waves super late. I still haven't seen Sky Shadow yet, but I can never remember the leaders' waves, so that might not be a big deal. But we do have Gnaw...

It's useless for people like me who can't paint or don't have access to paint.
But thanks though the kit does look good.

Indeed it looks like an extra pivot point in the back of the ankle could have got rid of the clown shoes, given him ankle pivots and also made his legs a hair longer - which would have all be worth doing - and if it used a ball joint it wouldn't even have needed an extra pin.

As someone who is tormented with large feet(size 15) I'm proud of having a transformer that shares my pain and difficulty finding shoes that fit.
I say good day to you sir!

Someone from another forum mentioned they spotted Cosmos and Seaspray at a store not far from me for $11 each. Might try to pick it up tomorrow. Toy Dojo had it earlier this week, but I didn't feel like paying their steep shipping cost, and didn't have nearly enough to qualify for free shipping.

Then, I was getting ready to grade some papers and I noticed that Perceptor's microscope cylinder was glowing from my computer screen. I looked at it and thought, "cool! We can look through the microscope. Hey, it even magnifies!" Then, for giggles, I tried turning the knob on the front of the cylinder. OMFG, there's a functioning focus knob!! TR Perceptor is a (crude) functioning microscope!
I've been reading this thread since the beginning, but I don't remember reading that from anyone. So, if someone else already brought it up, my apologies. But, just, WOW. Hasbro has figured out how to blow my old-man mind..
Bravo, Hasbro!

Understandable, as I think it was only mentioned in the Toy Fair thread way back when that was going on.Agamemnon wrote:I've been reading this thread since the beginning, but I don't remember reading that from anyone.

I've been fiddling with some of them, and aside from a heart attack inducing moment when Perceptor's TR partner lost his head as I was trying to remove Perceptor's (all is good now, but, whew!) I am generally pleased with them.
The same thing happened to me right out of the box with Perceptor.

Yeah, it feels like a whole lot of TRs are the tightest right out of the box. And fear of breakage is the reason I have yet to transform Nautica. I paid too much for that box set to risk snapping a peg...

I found no use in none of the three modes, and I was struggling with these during transformation.
I snapped them off, now the Truck mode transform more easily and the wheels are now aligned.
Any idea what feature I'm missing by having snapped them off ?

IIRC, those tabs were meant to interlock and hold the wings together properly in truck mode. At some point though it seems like the mold was designed incorrectly, so the tabs collide instead of interlocking and mess with the wig placement instead of assisting with it. Cutting them off in this situation is somewhat akin to clipping the knee-tabs on Pyra Magna or CW G2/UW Onslaught - it won't function quite as well as if it had worked as intended in the first place, but it will be better than if you hadn't removed the incorrectly-designed/assembled parts given the reality of the situation.

I don't have him handy but when you split the tail section open there are groves that the tabs fit into

Need pictures, there's nothing in the tail and I see absolutely no reason to tab the wings to the tail at any moment.
Or maybe you want to talk about the tabs on the inside of the legs ? they peg to the other side of the wings.

You mean you broke the piece off you couldn't figure out the use for off? You should've googled for a YouTube instructional video because they're pretty useful for figuring out what to do with parts. Of the three tablet Transformers, I like Decepticon Ravage the most and Ravage the least because I always have a hard time getting him transformed into a spy tablet. I've never had the original Ravage; but so far, there's always something about him that makes him hard to transform.

That's a way to see it.
I mainly figured out it was preventing correct transformation to truck mode. And Qwan thinks the same as me.
It's not the first time hasbro mess up something. I also had to revert my Universe Magnus fists for example.

SureShot18 wrote:But I'm not buying the box set
Lot of people sells it loose on ebay (while a bit pricey compared to the lot), you don't need to get the whole set.
I'm lucky : I wanted all of them in the set when I saw the first pictures. It was a no brainer to order the whole set.
-Quickswitch : Call me weird but I always prefered quickswitch over sixshot on their G1 toys. Yeah, I know.. So when I saw the set I cancelled my preorder for sixshot and waited for this one. Ok it's only a recolor, but it's probably the closest I will have of a real quickswitch for years.
- Laser Prime : I think there's nothing to add.
- Nautica : I don't read the comics, but a female bot is always welcome, plus she's offering the Blurr mold I passed on (the hasbro colors were meh, and Takara too expensive for a character I'm not specially attracted on)
- Fastclash : Really, he's cool. Ok the car mode is stupid, but it was the case of the GA1, plus he's really solid, he's so far away of the recent legends in term of quality/plastic, quite an energon basic. Can't wait to have his partner.

But to be honest those tabs on Optimus have never personally caused me a moments bother.
But why they are designed to overlap rather than sit flush is a bit of a puzzle of the designer's mind.

RAR wrote:

But it's probably mistransformed when you put it in truck mode.
- if you place the tabs face to face, the whole thing is too large and back wheels are not aligned with the front ones
- If you place the tabs next to each other, there's no chances you can tab the other side to the legs.
Posted by RAR on May 15th, 2017 @ 8:03am CDT
I agree it's terribly implemented though in that area of the toy. Perhaps some of that is down to them designing the rear end to work with Octone's wings and then they just did a bad job with Optimus' wings - *if they originally designed Octane 1st.
But it's not the sort of design flaw I'd want to see repeated. as you either have to overlap the wings to get rid of the gap or put up with the tabs pushing the top apart a bit to easily and have a bigger gap - so no - it's not really ideal.

We reached out to BBTS and they didnt even know it was coming. My guess is we will see it somewhere globally first, kinda like what happened with the previous BBTS exclusive: the platinum G1 Dinobots.

I think it's so they can fold away so he doesn't have them in bot mode 'cause he's not known for having wings. But honestly, I keep those suckers out because it looks freakin'...Kurona wrote:Talking of Optimus' wings, what were they really going for? Octone shows they're capable of doing much longer wings on the mold but instead Prime gets these short stubs. If it was to differentiate him from Octone then I'm a wee bit disappointed, surely there were other ways around that.
