Yep, it's been fairly obvious since the beginning that it wasn't intended to be a Titan master. every time I look at it I shed a single manly tear for what was lost.

Unless you have a pressing need to have Wave 2 right this instant, I'd wait off and get the Combaticons instead. The latter are just gonna be harder to find the more you wait now CW's ended, and Wave 2 TR are only this price right now because they're new and few other places have them. Wait a bit and they'll go down to a more normalized price; wait even longer and they'll be reduced.

Never did need them actually, decided not to bother with Menasor. I'd be very disappointed in myself if I did still need them though.

Yeah that's my train of thought as well for the most part. I guess Wave 2 will be around for a while. You're right about the prices too, I just didn't expect such a markup.

If indeed that answer is "yeah", don't rush on Wave 2 if you don't have to. It's gon' be around.

My thoughts as well. At least for me, anything past wave 2 of TR or wave 8 of RiD won't be covered until next calendar year, so I got 4 months to find stuff and enjoy it

Admittedly I have not really been keeping up with what is coming out. Is it true that Wave 2 is it for 2016? If so, you are probably right that stuff will be around later in the year. I'm curious to see how these figures sell, and if any will be available at a nice discount later in the year. I generally avoid paying MSRP + shipping/tax for figures. But I've jumped on many of the TR figures much earlier from release than compared to CW, and thus have paid MSRP. Luckily I have been pretty lucky in at least getting a discount on most to offset shipping/tax. I get the sense most of the TR line is well received (at least from the forums) and thus, will be harder to get a decent discount.

Indeed, nothing else has been announced specifically for this year. If anything, Wave 1 2017 will hit this Christmas shopping season, which will include:
Titan Masters Class
Autobot Ptero (aka Swoop)
Decepticon Fangry
Overboard (aka Overkill)
Sawback (aka Lione)
Legends Class
Gnaw
Bumblebee
Kickback
Deluxe Class
Autobot Twinferno/Doublecross with ???
Autobot Breakaway (aka Getaway) with ???
Triggerhappy with ???
Autobot Hot Rod with Firedrive (aka Firebolt)
Voyager Class
Optimus Prime with Diac
Megatron with Doomshot
Leader Class
Six Shot with Revolver

Yes, 4 waves of product per year. Waves 5 and 6 of Combiner Wars (combaticons and Autobot crew 2) took up the first half of the year, Titans Return waves 1 and 2 make up the remainder. TR waves 3 and 4 will kick off next year, although much like previous years, the first wave of the next year will probably start hitting late this year.

The problem is the stores in my area have crappy distribution. I always have to check back over and over for the figure and then wind up having to ebay the sucker because he never appeared in any store and is sold out at the online shops.

Yeah, it's the insurance I want on figures I am not positive I'll see. I used to love the hunt, but it seems like stores are carrying less and less of the TF stock....well, the TF stock I want to see. Lots of kiddie stuff around (one step, three step, etc.) So, I end up paying a little more to make sure I get it from BBTS.
But, yeah, the rising costs have me seriously considering stopping my collecting. I have a nearly complete G1 cartoon "Classics" collection.
On the other hand, Hasbro keeps sucking me right back in with lines like CW and TR....

Transformers Generations Titans Return Legends Wave 02 This is Ravage, Rumble (or Frenzy if your head canon works that way ) and Laserbeak, who is very black.....
In stock as of this writing, but I expect the initial stock to fly "off the shelves" so to speak, with a preorder to follow.
I'm kinda liking how BBTS is doing this now with their early shipments. Release the small initial amount as in-stock, with a preorder to follow.
Except, my poor wallet....

I pre-ordered Astrotrain last Friday and will be receiving it today. I'm guessing Amazon didn't have much stock of either figure as they sold out fairly quickly and none have come back up.

I almost never jump on preorders for anything with a markup. I have a hard enough time justifying the MSRP + shipping/tax if applicable. I've been fairly lucky thus far. The only one I almost regretted not PO'ing was Sky Lynx. I was almost certain I wasn't going to get him since I refused to pay scalper prices. I was very fortunate to find him at TJ Maxx recently. Almost everything else I was eventually able to get from either HTS, Amazon, Walmart, Target, or TRU.

I saw some people theorizing that Stripes might have originally been intended as Steeljaw (hence the "mane") but was changed to avoid confusion with RID Steeljaw.
Ramhorn would require some remolding if not a new mold, so I'd be surprised if he showed up. I could see a third repaint of the Laserbeak mold as something like Sunder or Blockrock showing up.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a decent Ratbat.

Thanks for the info! I feel like Stripes isn't bulky enough to be Steeljaw since he isn't as sleek as Stripes in G1. I hope they're able to remold it somehow though, because I really want these two characters

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you guys think of Astrotrain and Alpha Trion because they seem to be getting pretty much A+ reviews across YouTube. I'm think about pulling the trigger and ordering the them both through BBTS here soon.

I can speak for the AStrotrain mold since I have Sentinel Prime and I dont think the change in deco will totally change my opinion. I think its a stellar mold and very worthwhile. Sure the train isnt the best but it's a smart transformation that was thought up a while ago and that we can finally see play out. The molded detail is insane, probably the best detail I have ever seen on a figure. The spaceship mode is nice with the cockpit at the top and the change of feet works well (aside from making it a bit hard to balance since there are no heels). My favourite part is how a lot of it deals with panels (and panels on panels, which is the best part) and it is handled with no frustration. All that fun folding and unfilding makes him feel like a plastic origami

Target and Walmart are decently priced still, but the distribution at the local Targets stink, and Walmart gives me panic attacks.

Rumours say there'll be a Tidal Wave who is to be retooled into Broadside.
Which is nice, since all six original triple changers would finally be done well (Thrilling 30 Springer and Sandstorm are like universally loved, right?)

Gotta go POL. It spreads the shipping out over the entire current order. Right now I'm at $18 for 13 items, a couple of them big like CW Computron. Doing POL does help a lot with shipping. It was neat seeing the 3 legends add just $0.25 to my overall shipping bill.
Did we discover if Soundwave has a case mate? I'm presuming PW OP, but you know what they say about presuming...making a priss out of...wait, what?

Agreed that POL helps. But if I can place an order over $150, I'll go with Toy Dojo. Or HTS on an order over $50 if there is a coupon code available. I'll have UW Computron in my POL until I can add enough stuff to make the shipping worth it.

It turns out the Botcon was the reflector that was supposed to be out at retail. Hasbro chose not to do it and instead told Fun Pub to release it as an exclusive.

Opps Well spotted - serves me right to type when I'm tired.
What I supposed to state there was.... What family of design does Astrotrain share .. and are there any others ?
The point I was trying to skirt around was a specific time period or art style in a collection of comics.
I.e. War For Cybertron / Fall of Cybertron is a shared style
War Within in a shared style.
Hearts of Steel is a shared style
I was under the impression Stormbringer was one too and that Astrotrain was broadly speaking inspired by it as was (with a due correction) 'Classics' Jetfire.
I guess Classics Jetfire would look a bit small with TR Astrotrain though.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like Astrotrain. This is probably my favorite TR figure thus far. Maybe I'm biased b/c Astrotrain is one of my favorite characters from the G1 cartoon. At the same time, I wasn't terribly enthusiastic about the figure since it isn't exactly toon accurate. But I felt obligated to get the figure and I'm glad I did. IMO it's better in hand than what I saw in pics and videos. My thoughts are similar to what many have said already. The bot and shuttle modes are very nice. The train mode is definitely the weakest, but still decent. I was pretty sure I'd hate the train mode and surprisingly like it. My biggest gripe is the feet. Someone from the forums said it looks like tux shoes, and now I can't get that image out of my head.
