Rats, same for me! I'd check later in the day if you can manage though, one of my Targets I called said they had a couple boxes, but they weren't out on the shelf yet. I'm going to recheck mine in a couple hours on my way to Toys R Us. Fred Meyer was even worse, they said they had some new figures but weren't putting them out until tomorrow because they didn't have space on a shelf, and I'm going to go visit my parents out of state tonight! If I get lucky maybe I'll find something over there if I can't get what I want today.

There are 3 new molds in wave 1 (in terms of non gimmick toys) and in order of best to worst I would say:
Voyager Optimus Prime
Deluxe Berserker
Deluxe Barricade

Walking down the aisle, I saw they did in-fact have the Voyagers and Knight Armor Turbo Changers , as well as the voice changer helmet. I grabbed both voyager Optimus and Grimlock, went to the register, and the cashier told me she couldn't sell me them. I was very puzzled. According to Toys'R'Us, they are street dated for June 23rd, the day the movie comes out. I said to her it must be a mistake. She got the attention of the manager, and sure enough, he confirmed in the system it said all of their Last Knight merchandise was street dated for June 23rd. I brought up the post on here and other websites regarding the April 24th street date release, as well as made the argument if everything was street dated for June 23rd... why are all the toys on the shelves ready to sell? The manager agreed it was odd and looked into the matter more. Thankfully, he apologized for the confusion and gave the cashier the okay to sell me both.
It also seems like Target and Wal-Marts still haven't gotten the memo in my area yet either. The Target and Wal-Mart nearest me having nothing Last Knight related. My area being South Florida. Did the street date get pushed back? or is Kremzeek running around causing havok?https://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/posting.php?mode=reply&f=4&t=107247#
Anyone else run into a similar issue?

Thanks for sharing your experience, it is odd. It looks like an error in dates since there have been several TRU stores that show a April 24th street date (mine did) when scanning the box. What is weird to me is that it means the coding of the cash terminals is not centralized. or else everyone would be showing the same date.
Which toys did you buy? and remember to share your thoughts here when you get the chance.

Yep, not a single figure at any Targets in my area (outside of one my friend is checking at for me, but there's a good chance all the Last Knight stuff is gone) or my Toys R Us. Since I'm in a different state tomorrow I figured I'd check my hometown - Target only had Bee left (called a couple hours after they opened) and Toys R Us hadn't opened their boxes yet. They offered to call me back once they did, and I asked them to if they had the voyager Optimus. They finally called after maybe 15 minutes - no Prime. Then they called back again and said they found one. The woman on the phone seemed a bit reluctant - something about hold policy - but said she'd hold onto him for me and I'll do my best to get over there in the morning. I'll take a couple pictures once I (hopefully) open him up.
Today's been a frustrating mess of checking 5 different stores with no luck, I'm glad something went right, even if awkwardly so.

Haha, and better yet, several are the exact same toys we have already gotten.
I am still buying them, but at a discount.
Also, boycotting a line could just send the message that TF toys dont sell which could end the line (which was almost the case back in 1993).
So at least by buying at a discount I am sending the message that I will buy your toys, but at a certain price.

I will be getting the toys but not at the initial retail price while i'm waiting for the prices to drop a bit I'll be pondering some Japanese toys and some third party items i'd like to get such as Dream factory's Movie Bonecrusher leaderclass scale toy - which looks gorgeous.
But I recall how AOE Leader Optimus and Grimlock ended up being reduced to something like £16.99 & the First Edition one was out in Clearance places for under £20.00 so I can't see a reason to go running to the store - i'm sure the 1 steps will be on sale pretty quickly in the UK - heck they are on sale price already in America.
Titans Returns Dlx toys are supposed to be £19.99 - yet few stores sell them for that - I suspect the high prices won't last then they can mark them down as 30% or 50% off and be telling the truth about it.
Heck I'm mildly irked with myself for not waiting on TR Soundwave who is now £19.99 Cheaper than a Combiner Wars Skywarp is.
I think they will come down to £15.99 very quickly and then drop again to £12.50 later.
The only problem is sometimes a wave 1 item can be a swine to get cheap as the sales don't hit hard till wave 2 or 3. But usually the Amazon or ebay price has reduced by then so that compensates a lot.
If I find I have a Movie toy itch I can always buy some Wei Jiang Overscale Dinos or That Striker Prime I still don't have one of.
I'm actually much keener to get TR wave 4 anyway.

Besides, going TakaraTomy would only be worse since the differences, if any, are negligible, and you'd have to pay an even higher price to get them.
I think someone mentioned the figures' prices are now on par with similar offerings like from Marvel or DC Comics, coincidentally the general packaging style in the same between them (boxed instead of carded).

Those guys have a super odd distribution though. Something tells me several shipments were either delayed, lost or ignored and rotting somewhere because they didnt appear for long and stores are now moving on to the next wave.

It's like the boiling frog story. Drop a frog in a pan of boiling water and he jumps straight out. Drop a frog in a pan of tepid water and slowly raise the heat to boiling, the frog will sit there and boil to death. We are the frog and Hasbro has been slowly raising the water temperaure over the years. While we've been getting hotter in our pans, and getting a little discomfort, it's only been small over a long time so we think it's not bad. But eventually, we really need to jump out of the pan.

I'm starting to think that the price increase is mainly in TRU's and online, as the Walmart and Target sightings I've been seeing have had no price increase. Which is similar to the titans return figures, which online and in TRU are like $16.99 but in walmart and target they are still hovering at $14.97

Yeah, you are both saying the same thing differently. Hasbro's MSRP has gone up, but its only a suggested price. TRU chose to go with it and Hasbro of course is going with it but Walmart and Target arent. What I think, for walmart's case, is that they simply didnt bother to change the price for the classes on their central pricing software or have accepted the loss of having a higher price to pay Hasbro but not wanting to pass it off to the consumer, thinking they will sell enough of these to still make a profit. But my gut feeling (looking at Walmart's international operations, which I know first hand) is that the price will be corrected and increase once they figure out that their cost is not the same.
Could be wrong and if I am, then happy hunting in the US

No worries, I am still very happy you shared that, like that fans in thsi thread can do it too
And man, those street dates are all over the place. I like my Walmart's approach best: if they have it in stock, it goes on the shelves They really dont seem to want to hold onto anything in a backroom unsold.

For what it's worth, the difference between Slash and Grimlock are night and day. But I'll admit there's still a charm to AoE Slash's neon colors.

I actually save when it comes to buying online. Bus fare is 2.50 a pop for an adult, so if I am only going toy hunting I am wasting 2.50 on possibly finding nothing, round trip it could cost me another 2.50 if I don't make my transfer in time and my ticket runs out.
I try to wait until I have enough things to get free shipping, but avoiding the hassle of buses/gas money ordering can be more efficient even with shipping.
