The new image comes to us from Weibo user 淘宝店变形金刚改造工厂, and it shows off Blastoff in his alt mode, flying through the sky in shuttle mode. The image also uses a similar background as the rest of the Power of the Primes packaging arts, making a strong case that this figure is in fact coming. While we don't have any more information regarding the figure, it is possible that Blastoff will be a May Mayhem exclusive, much like the previous Groove. Also like Groove, the packaging art suggests it may be a straight re-release of the Takara paint job.

Yeah I only noticed this now even though I own the Takara one. I'm less disappointed now. My big thing was I thought it was exactly the same and I was hoping the colors were different so he could be a different character.

Agreed, I hope it's the same lovely shade of brown as jet Blast-off. I also hope the figure matches the art with brown from stem to stern. That chunk of purple on the Takara release never looked right just like the weird shade of brown they used. Hopefully grey/gunmetal booster toes as well.Sabrblade wrote:Because made Blast Off's brown too orange.Lunatic Prime wrote:steals_your_goats wrote:Autobot N wrote:
Honestly it's pretty disappointing that it's the same colors as the unite warriors one.
Why is that disappointing?
I wonder it he will come with a CW or PotP fist and if the latter will there be retooling to allow for prime armor integration?

How the hell does Hasbro keep letting these things happen anyways?
Posted by zodconvoy on January 12th, 2018 @ 11:07am CST
Jazz, Dread wind, Swoop, Slag, Beachcomber, Windcharger, Slash, Metalhawk, Skullgrin, Claudburst, Starscream, Grimlock, and Optimus Prime.
Who was the one figure I actually have been hunting for while I found all of those?
RODIMUS FLIPPIN' PRIME
Kinda bothering me.

All thing's considered the Hasbro deco's are not "bad" by any means, maybe their not specifically the right color scheme one might have personally wanted but the deco's are not horrible.

For anyone that owns both Baldigus and UW Bruticus, is Mover just turning the head around or is there some additional tooling? Also, do the feet stay together better than Blast off?
Mainly, I'm interested in whether they'll go with the Mover version or Blast off version. I've already got UW Bruticus so it wouldn't be a pressing desire for me unless I want a different color for Blast off.

Yes, Abominus torso is looking good! I like this sneak peak at Elita-1 as well.
I meant to pick-up TLK Infernocus just because I liked the individual little figures and their colors -- but prioritized hunting TR and PotP figures, I guess. I'd buy Cogman in a heartbeat, though.
My Galvatron is 3p -- DX9's Tyrant! He actually came with two cannons, and one of them has sparkly flakes in it to give it that G1 look. I'm hoping there's an Evolution Megatron planned for PotP...but I won't hold my breath.

Because made Blast Off's brown too orange.

I guess, it'll be a Prime armor because they release him in the PotP line and therefore they have to integrate either a 5 mm hole in his chest or some slots.

I own both and i don't have any of the problems with Movor that I do with Blast off (head popping off and not staying tabbed together in arm mode)

I wonder if Hasbro will use the Blast Off orientation, or the Shuttler one:
Only difference is the arm assembly, really...
Either way, it should retain the latter's retooling to make the head less prone to popping off. As for the HFG piece... I hope it's a CW one, but I wouldn't mind the PotP one: I'd just need to find jet Blast Off and switch them

As goes for toy accuracy I could see them doing the Movor orientation because of the flat chest. Another good reason would be to be more different from 's version.
Why do you prefer the CW one?JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:As for the HFG piece... I hope it's a CW one, but I wouldn't mind the PotP one: I'd just need to find jet Blast Off and switch them

Did you compare it with the varying exchange rate changes of the past 5 months?
Is the price higher for all classes?
And could it be that BBTS has increased its prices on more popular figures in hope to offest the loss of not selling these figures due to the fact that it is now known they are the same a Hasbro's?

We did see a different colored Megatronus, didn't we? Of note: he's likely a retool of Liege Maximo because the arms match in design.

LOL, he's pretty photogenic! I prefer the other cannon, but the G1-ness made me give him this one for the photos with Rodimus.
I missed out on Bruticus during CW as well, so seeing space-ship Blast Off is tempting me to try and obtain them....I was actually hoping I'd be able to hunt down Fruiticus a couple of years ago when the CW sets were showing up at Ross and other discount sellers. This last Xmas was kinda crappy for bargain-hunting.

Anyway, my patience has paid off. The Target layout that was done a couple days ago near my home was *somewhat* stocked today. They had pretty much everything except leaders. So I had my first sighting of Voyagers yay!, and picked up Grimlock. I wont have time to unpackage him until later, but still it was good to see them all on shelves. Now that is no longer a factor, I can plan accordingly. My remaining wants for wave 1 are Voyager Starscream, and Deluxe Swoop, Slag, and Jazz. If I get one per paycheck, that will spread things out nicely until wave 2 starts hitting shelves.

Another point for the "Movor orientation". The downside is that the hollowed out side of his arms will be visible in shuttle mode.

Well has made it publically known that they are apparently not doing to well financially. The rumors of a merger with habsro previously may have been false, but I would not be surprised. I mean I know owns many more properties besides Transformers, but who knows.
I wonder if Takara would be willing to sell its rights to Transformers to liscense product in Japan to Hasbro? Also if the major lines (Movie Line, Generaitons Line, and mainline animated series line) are all going to be identical...does that mean
MP-41 Dinobot will be the last new Masterpiece figure?
March has a ton of EX releases including Metroplex, Grand Maximus, and Great Shot, as well as Encore God Fire Convoy...will special releases like this come to an end...?

I'm going with Blast-off orientation because it will be easier to peg/clip the prime armor into if he comes with that flavor. I'd guess using the thumb tabs into the sides of his shuttle chesticles.

Exchange rates fluctuate all the time and yet that had never affected the legends line releases. Over the past year the exchange rate hasn't fluctuated by more than a few yen. All deluxe figures besides Jazz are labeled as $29 so I'm led to believe it's Takara raising the price slightly which they typically don't do without the inclusion of something extra. Prime masters are the only other size we can compare now between wave 1 and 2 and they're the same price still.

Another thing that's going against the Prime armor is that there's no mention of combining with a Prime in his bio unlike it's in the other PotP characters' bios.

I'd prefer the Movor orientation. I would swap his arms nonetheless to have the Blast Off orientation but with the Prime armor as a jetpack like it's on my Swoop.

I think the only big disappointment for me so far with Power of the Primes is that Takara won't be releasing the Dinobots with red helmets for Slag and Swoop and blue eyes for all. Those small changes would have been enough for me, even if some of the other details on the dino or robot modes lean more toy accurate than cartoon accurate. At least we got Swoop with a blue chest, I guess?

There are two sizeable objects in Blast Off's hands so they have to be weapons of some sort and since Blast Off only comes with a small blaster so it makes sense that it's the prime armor and hfg. Blast Off is going to be an exclusive of some sort and was most likely supposed to be released under combiner wars explaining the lack of prime masters in the bio

I dont think so since you could also ask for any of the other technobots (barring the motorcycle) since they all had differences. The computrons were completely different versions as opposed to combiners with just 1 of the members being different.

Plus, either company probably considers its version of Computron done, since no members were switched out (Hasbro did come close to that with downsizing Afterburner and introducing Ironclad).
One can always hope for a Hasbro release of the UW Computicon toolings though.
