Yep! As I said in the post, and as the bio also states - that is the Predaking they mean.
No idea why BH is in there instead..

Probably because that's the most recent 'bot to use the Predaking name.

I'm sad I can't vote. Really want the Boss Munky in but it'll probably be Prowl who takes the spot.

They also used Energon Galvatron and Cybertron ape Optimus Prime. The Energon Glavatron is excusable since the hall of fame usually applies to different versions of the same character, but the Optimus Prime inclusion over an actual Primal is just as lazy as the use of BH Predaking.

Very close to the Strafe mix-up on the AoE Evolution packs, really.
I do wonder who chooses the images for these.

Why not? He was commander of the Axalon in Beast Wars and leader during Beast Machines. Also temporarily held Optimus Prime's spark which "upgraded" him into his Optimal Optimus form during the latter.

Since BW Megatron wasn't lumped into the Megatron Hall of Fame display, I'm inclined to agree.

Really either of the BW leaders could be contenders, since they are greatly different from the regular portrayals of their respective characters.

Probably just as well. Classics/Generations/G1 Predaking doesn't have a whole lot of representation compared to the others, so I doubt he'd win.

How come Seibertron.com didn't partake in the Hall of Fame's first round of voting this year?

Im gonna have to go with Prowl, Devastator and the people who wrote the original Transformers theme. Even now, anytime I hear that song, it makes me smile and remember the happy, simple, childlike wonder of my youth hehe.

I miss the little montage videos each character used to have during the Botcon HOF presentations.

What songs would these characters have?

I can't vote since I neither have the app nor Internet on my phone (always prefer a laptop or a desktop), but if I could, I'd go with Primal, Predaking, and Anne Bryant/Ford Kinder.

I mean, come on, its written best COMBINER, that Predaking version doesn't even combine!!! Couldn't someone tell that the artwork was totally different from the rest and didnt make any sense. This really looks like a friday night rush job.

When the first round of voting was going on back in April, there was no involvement in it from this site (as far as I could tell).

Your post suggests to me that this was because the general attitude towards the Hall of Fame is that it's become a joke not worth bothering with anymore, or so I presume.

Strange how in the Musical Act entry the most famous musician had the least impact on the brand while the most unknown created one of the best known theme.


While it's maddening that they used the wrong image for Predaking, it doesn't surprise me given some of the other similar mistakes of recent years (i.e. orange Jihaxus, SG Heatwave, several Kreons getting the wrong faction symbol). Meanwhile, Movieverse Lockdown is pretty faithful to the original.

Why is Prime Predaking pictured in the app instead of G1 Predaking?

Either way, if my phone could run the app I would vote for Optimus Primal for the normal character, Devastator for the Combiner and Vince DiCola for the musical person.

While Weird Al and Vince DiCola are the more recognizable names here, Anne Bryant's contribution is far more notable to the legacy of the Transformers brand. She's the one who came up with the theme songs for Transformers, GI Joe, Jem and others. It's the original theme song that set the tone for the original series and subsequent songs about Transformers.

Seibertron.com didn't participate because it's too much work in too little time for too little reward. I informed Hasbro of my decision. During my emails with them, I let them know that I'd be happy to help come up with some other ideas, but to say "hey we need you to drop everything today and have the results to us within one week" is too much. If they would work with the site owners and give us some sort of heads up so that we can get things together in advance, it would be different. It was great the first two years, but after that it was too much work to have it be something barely mentioned at the end of the Hasbro brand panel.

The email from Hasbro was on April 13th. I was in the middle of finalizing Seibertron.com's taxes for the year, which are not a lot of fun. It was poor timing on behalf of Hasbro to spring something on us last minute. No one on the Seibertron staff volunteered to manually tally results either (which is the biggest obstacle that I don't want to do any more).

Messing up images and names, asking fansites to do a lot during tax season, not even giving the Hall of Fame the attention it deserves... man, it really doesn't look good for Hasbro.

The way I see it, you either do it right or you don't do it at all. By showing so much carelessness, this hall of fame doesnt feel more official than a website poll. Only my opinion. To be dead honest, I feel Takara's Masterpiece output is the true hall of fame, with all the fanfare and attention it deserves.

I feel bad that we didn't do it ... but it just wasn't in the cards that week at the last minute and with it not being a big deal any more.

If it hadn't devolved into two powerpoint slides at the end of a presentation in the middle of the afternoon it'd still be a cool thing. I think that's been said by plenty, just wanted to give my two cents on it even though they aren't super compelling

... how is Primal "not a character"? He went from rookie leader to spiritual zealot... way more depth than anything in G1 He's also unrelated to Prime, and BW Megatron was inducted 2 years ago. Bye Felicia

It's the wrong Predaking. It'd be like showing a picture of Beast Wars Inferno for G1 Inferno or ROTF Rampage for Beast Wars Rampage or Predacon Rampage. If it's supposed to be for best Combiner, it should show G1 Predaking instead of Beast Hunters Predaking (who is not a Combiner). No need to talk smack about G1 here or turn this conversation into something that it's not.

I am not denying that they got their Predakings mixed up (and in fact I'd like to point out again that they goofed on their Optimuses, too), I am just saying that G1 Predaking is not the "real" Predaking any more than BH Predaking is. And with all due respect, why are his insults okay, but my firing back is suddenly crossing a line?

And back on topic, is it just me or are there way fewer choices this year than usual? Granted, there's three things to vote on instead of just one like it's been in the past, but still, cutting it down to three options apiece seems drastic to say the least.

Primal and Predaking aren't the only oddities here. Galvatron's pic is of Energon Galvatron, and Bruticus's pic is of FOC Bruticus.

While not as odd as the other two, I'm sure most were thinking more of the G1 guys.

I think that may be one of those things where Hasbro considers them different versions of the same character. Just count your blessings Galvatron didn't wind up using the pic for Galvatronus!

You still don't seem to get it. Predaking is in the "best combiner" category, so the picture should be of a Predaking that combines. That's it. There is no "real" or "not real". It's the simple idea that the picture of Predaking in the best combiner category should be of the combining Predaking That is how this picture is wrong. No need for a debate.

I think you're misunderstanding. At no point did I say that it wasn't the wrong Predaking. At no point did I meant imply that it wasn't the wrong Predaking. What I mean to convey is that if there's a Predaking who should feel insulted by this comparison, it's not the one YoungPrime thinks it is.

I'm absolutely sick of the people who insist that everything other than G1 should be flushed down the toilet simply because it isn't G1, and if my response to one of those people was uncalled for, so was what I was responding to.

Now that I've got that out of my system... Let's start a pool. Last year was Strafe, this year it's Predaking, anyone wanna take bets on next year's case of mistaken identity? I'm putting a couple generic units of currency on Inferno.
