These don't really appeal to me, but they seem like they might be good for kids graduating from Rescue Bots or something.

Well try this: I like them. They are those titan figures done right, with some decent articulation. They also look a bit goofy, which appeals to me. They cool, my side yo

I totally agree, these are the hyerchange and titan figures done right. I would say this is more of a compliment to the rescue bots line. A step between that and generations, without having to go through the other ones.

These were labelled as GDO on robot kingdom (might have been another online retailer), so that implies that they are made for international markets and not north america, like last time.

I'm glad you agree! Honestly, I would love it if they downsized this style to deluxe sized (5 inches or so) and did the Rescue bot line. That would make a great toyline for kids and Rescue Bots fans alike

hm.. ok so you're saying there might be a chance Toys r Us might carry this like the last GDO line? I find it strange that BBTS doesn't have any preorder for this.

I haven't seen Starscream yet, he probably comes in fewer numbers. I've seen tons of Optimuses, Megatrons and Bumblebees.

This is only for a small part of the world, not a main line toyline. This works for what it is really. And some KO aren't that bad. That KO AoE Grimlock looks nice considering it is in good scale. I wouldn't have minded a huge AoE Grimlock like that so it scaled nicely.

Yeah, because those TFs is now the norm and every single new TFs that will come out from now on will be exactly like these!
Or...
How DARE they making another kind of product for a different market, a different public with a different budjet? Hasbro must cater to MY needs alone!

Haha, I knew you would bring that up. The last time TRU carried it was because of the demand by fans (supposedly). It was supposed to never make it to the states hence why none of those toys were meant to represent the defining classics version of those characters. I dont see as much clamouring for this line. Not saying it wont make it to north america but the signs point to no for the moment.
Also, to those wondering what's the KO Grimlock people are talking about:
Also, this pictures makes these toys look really big:

Instead to the quick change stuff they really should go with this direction for the kid geared line.

It's kinda sad that we've come to a point where a certain variety of children's toys have to be further distinguished from other children's toys to spell out that they, unlike the other children's toys, are meant for children.
Just sayin'.
Posted by MenaceRX on June 11th, 2015 @ 11:52pm CDT
These are great for children. They have actual transformation at a beginner level. And the thicker plastic seems to indicate they would take more misteps then a smaller ball joint base figure like we get with the Generations line right now.
Just my 2 cents.

Now this interests me. Are there reviews of the KO's on that site. That Grimlock is massive but is he good quality? The dino head halves seem to sit a bit high. Also very interested in the larger 2014 Bumblebee there too but I can't tell if it's got the flip down battlemask of the official Deluxe. Oh and I see a Voyager of the excellend DotM Deluxe Starscream? I would love that if it's good quality like the Deluxe.

TF for kids
You guys crack me up!
It's a strange psychological phenomenon.
As we grow older into our adult years, right beyond middle-age, there's that part in our mind that remain the old 12yo kid. And the kid stuff we LOVED as kids, well, we expect that OUR kid stuff remain OUR. Meaning, we expect companies to ONLY cater to the needs of 20-70yo "kids" rather than kids of TODAY.
One example is this thread, the RID 2015 thread, or any comments geared toward the 1step/3step figures. These are not created and designed for our old dinosaur bones. These are made for TODAY's little timmy so he discover, play, and have fun with Transformers. Thus, giving Hasbro lotsa monay and securing the franchise for future generations.
Non TF example, the recent TMNT reboot. The movie will not earn any Oscars for sure. But is it REALLY that terrible? Take a crowbar and try to look at the 1990 movie. Was it REALLY better? Hell no. But it still blew your kiddy mind at the time. Well, it's the same thing with the recent movie and today's kid. The movie have been made for THEM, not for us.
Have an article that explain the phenomenon better than me:

I agree on the idea that these guys are for kids and aren't made for us mastodons. But if you're catering to kids, it would be a good thing on Hasbro's behalf to use thicker plastics and less obvious hollow parts. Hell, the first time I transformed Brake-neck I got stress marks and that guy is designed for us octogenerians! I can see these TF's dying all too soon in the hands of less carefull people. Thinner platics and less support in the internal structure is just bad practice and that is my issue with these guys.
Honestly, though, I do not own any of the modern simplistic figures. I plan on getting that RID 3 step Optimus for his Takara-factor... How is the plastic on these guys?

To be honest I was never a big fan of the 1990 movie but really, really enjoyed the 2014 one (even bought the figures though I got them cheap. Still looking for a cheap Shredder and some Foot Soldier but got all the good guys and display them on a small playset from the 2012 Nick show toyline). First time I've enjoyed Ninja Turtles since the big craze the cartoon caused in the late 80's/early 90's.

IF he has knees. No knees, no buy.
It was confirmed he has no knees. It also wasnt confirmed that he would be sold anywhere else than south america so the dilemma or purchasing these or not is not a concrete one yet (for most of the world)
