This means Draculus is already being distributed to retailers, making the fact that they are choosing November for a release rather than October 31st quite puzzling. This toy could always be found in Targets earlier than the proposed release date, we never know.
This sighting comes from Banshee who posted it on Cybertron.ca.

Freaking LEADER price for a damn DELUXE.
Let's hope he'll be available like roaches as it was the case with Gigawatt. Sooner or later, it will be on sale/clearance at the much more normal 45$can price.

I have a spare TFP Vechicon (the one that turns into a plane) that I can turn into my own Draculus/Batmanus just by adding bat ears and some minor paint job. Besides, mold-wise, I think that either of the 2 Vechicon molds (the normal TFP & First Edition TFP) fits into the Dracula character better. They can pull off Dracula poses much better and look more slender. But they do not turn into a bat in alt-mode, so I understand why they chose the too-obvious Mindwipe instead.

TF Prime Soundwave seems the more obvious choice to me. Just add a face. You can even make Laserbeak into a bat-like familiar.

I was thinking the same thing.
Agreed. Vampires turn into bats, but werewolves don't turn into wolves (usually) they turn into humans. Rework the legs so he doesn't have a tail, lose the wings and we'd have something cool. Of course with the current trend the Wolfman would be the original version which isn't as toyetic.

The Mindwipe retool, I recall people guessed a while back. But the lack of effort is extremely disappointing. When the nicest thing most people comment on is the boxart, it speaks volumes.

It's not really minimal. They redid the entire chest. Compared to Tyranocoon which just got a new head.
I agree on the loth cape - IMO TFs should just never have one, but it's easy to leave out. What else would you change about the figure to make it better?

Wings fold down into capes. It is a simple design idea that has been done with everything from Batman to Transformers EG Beast Machines Megatron
The issue is that they didn't want to give The Count an all new mold. Which would have greatly aided the figure. Dracula is supposed to look intimidating. The bat thing, is an aside to most fiction.
The hands were a nice addition. But, they should have stripped away more of Mindwipe than just his chest and head. More customisation, to make him look the part.
They make an all new mold for Maverick. A one off Top Gun character, with no extended media. Something considered hideous by many critics, I've seen and read. But a character more iconic than the Transformers themselves, they don't bother to go all out?

I can't even begin to speculate why Maverick was an all-new mold as opposed to Draculus. Maybe it's because Dracula doesn't have a new movie coming out? Maybe they don't believe 100& in the concept, so they went for a retool than an all new mold?

Dunno about the Robo Chicken thing, but the coffin is pretty iconic and would be much easier to do as a concept. Not all vampires turn into a bat and Dracula could do much more.
To be true to the Dracula mythos, the Dracula Transformers should have been a TRIPLE-CHANGER: Drac, Bat, Wolf.

Transforming into anything but a bat seems counterintuitive. Sure a coffin would also make sense, but it's kind of boring.

I think they were banking on the movie being out at the same time as the toy and helping drive interest before covid threw the whole movie release schedule into chaos. Maverick would have been much more relevant to current media if things didn't go haywire. It actually wouldn't surprise me to have a second run of Maverick show up if/when the movie ever comes out.

RE: Dracula
The Scourge Mold might have made more sense in terms of a cape too. Also ala Bram Stoker's original novel, Dracula travels via sleeping in large caskets. Filled with his native soil. He only really transforms into wolf throughout the story. So the coffin altmode would make sense for him.
Meanwhile, Universal Dracula started the bat thing. While also turning into a wolf and sleeping in a coffin...

Then Weirdwolf is going to be the Wolfman
&
Skullcruncher as Creature of the Black Lagoon.
So what about Frankenstein?
Hardhead, maybe?
Or let's get really stupid!
Apeface and Snapdragon as
KING KONG & GODZILLA!
I know one of us morons would buy it.

King Kong is more preferably made from Optimus Primal.

I'm sorry I didn't make my post clearer. I meant figures that are exclusive to US stores and not part of mainline retail in the US. It appears that some figures, possibly Draculus are going to see a wide release and not be tied to one store internationally. I know Takara is doing that with some Kingdom figures.

Being exclusive to a particular store in the US doesn't mean it's not going to go elsewhere in the world. A lot of Selects figures are only available in Australia via EB Games/Zing (there are other online retailers who stock them but they don't get them directly from Hasbro).

No tears here, I just think if it's a store exclusive here that we have to wait months for and pre-order to get, we should be able to get the first crack before anybody else. It's more than "exchange rate". That MSRP of Drac is 70$CAN plus taxes. Meaning 55$US. A leader is typically 52$US I think. so yeah, there's a layer of bullshiit for the X-Over figures in Canada and I don't know what it is.
At least, we Canadians get our "revenge" with the Masters of the Universe toys whose prices are the same in $CAN as in $US... or even cheaper!

That's why I called it the exchange rate game. Hasbro is playing some type of games with those rates, and the fans in Canada are not the ones winning.

Oddly enough, the prices of the regular figures follow the rates roughly.
Leader in USA: 53$US (67$CAN)
Canadian price of a leader: 70/72$CAN
Voyager in USA: 30/32$US (38/40$CAN)
Canadian price for a voyager: 40$/45$CAN
Deluxe in USA: 22$US (28$CAN)
Canadian price for a deluxe: 30/33$CAN.
------------------
That in mind, the Xover figures are absurdly priced in Canada because reasons.
Voyager Ectotron 1.0: 60$CAN (47$US)
Deluxe Gigawatt: 60$CAN (47$US)
Voyager Top Gun Maverick ???$CAN
Voyager Ectotron 2.0: 95$CAN (75$US)
Leader X-Men thing: 95$CAN (75$US)
Deluxe Dracula: 70$CAN (55$US)
I don't know the original American prices of these X-Over figures, but I bet these are NOT the equivalent like the regular releases on top of my post.
So it means that these X-Over figures in particular are specifically surcharged for some reasons.

You are right, I've added what I remember the original price being.
Voyager Ectotron 1.0: 60$CAN (47$US) - US $40 (after initial Pulse mistake price of $30)
Deluxe Gigawatt: 60$CAN (47$US) - US $30
Voyager Top Gun Maverick ???$CAN - US $50
Voyager Ectotron 2.0: 95$CAN (75$US) - US $60
Leader X-Men thing: 95$CAN (75$US)- US $65
Deluxe Dracula: 70$CAN (55$US) - US $31.50
I really don't get Dracula's pricing. Gigawatt required a bunch of new mold parts while most of Mindwipe is being kept for Dracula, yet Dracula gets an even higher markup. He just gets a fancier box and the cape. That cape better be velvet.

Bigger point. My Battle Across time set was due in November, then September 16th, then the 14th, then I got it on the 13th. Might ship early, who knows.
Yes I realize being a store exclusive doesn't mean country exclusive but there just has to be a better way than PO a figure one day and somebody finding it in a store in another country the next. It would be nice for Hasbro to tell us, "Hey just so you know, other countries are going to get this sooner and more widely distributed than you, just wanted to let you know." Yeah I know, pipe dream.

How would anyone know when something is more widely distributed when those factors are unrelated to hasbro? For instance Hasbro shipped all of Walgreen's order for Kingdom Red Alert months ago but Walgreens has chosen not to put them in stores until later.
Also, most figures should be found closer to where they are manufactured before being found in the US. By logic, the US being at the other end of the world from manufacturing and being a country with such a spaced out population, it's more logical that it would be the last place to get wide distribution for a product. it's maybe because it's this obvious that Hasbro wouldn't release a statement, you aren't getting the product first.
So, just remember that the odds are you will rarely get an item before others and if you see it before, then that's lucky.
Posted by TF-fan kev777 on September 15th, 2021 @ 11:29am CDT
It very well could be that the plan was to have Draculus available for Halloween, but they are all stuck on a ship right now, and unlikely to make it on time.
If that is the case then I would never expect Hasbro or any of the retailers to announce that to the public, especially when much of the public doesn't understand the incredible pain in the ass international shipping can be.
