Why no elbows. Even G1's had elbows (and sometimes knees)
Why do better when people buy s**t?

I am just curious, because the difference between the initial Prime Voyager and the simplified one kinda blew me away.

Because the original Legion figure didn't have elbows or knees. This is a direct up-sizing of the figure.

Let them down gently, you know how they get.

It feels like a KO review that's being passed off as an actual Hasbro figure to try and rile us up in the wake of the "simplified figures" announcement; I mean no offense to the reviewer's credibility, this is just such a step down in Deluxes, and such a lazy one at that, that I am skeptical.

Yes these are real. They were shown at BotCon and as explained there the first wave would be up-sized Legion figures due to time issues. Starting with the movie figures they will be original molds that will (should?) have more articulation.

i feel bad that you own this lol.
i hope you didn't have to pay for it.
i don't want to see any repaints of this thing.. hell.. i'd prefer this thing get lost in the shuffle like the figures in the past that have actually deserved to see the light of day.
it infuriates me that we get this shit.. yet, over here, we'll never see prime voyager breakdown, deluxe jet vehicon, dotm human alliance soundwave, dotm deluxe soundwave, dotm deluxe wheeljack, dotm deluxe leadfoot.. etc. it's absolutely ridiculous that they'd waste their time with this crap rather than filling those spots with figures that should've been released here in first place... i mean, they have the molds, it's not like there would be any tooling involved.. and people clearly want them.. oh well. if hasbro wants to lose money they can. at this point they can't even get rid of the beast hunters toys that are better than this.

I'm a big fan of ratcheted joints for kids. Aside from transforming, the biggest issue my kids have with them is arms and legs falling off when they "battle." In that regard, this smokescreen is a vast improvement over prime smokescreen, at least.

There were plenty of G1's with no elbows. Some had shoulders, some had elbows, some even had neither, and only the best of the best had both.
And knees, you could probably count on your hands and feet how many had knees, compared to the dozens upon dozens that had no leg movement at all. Having hip movement, that puts this above most G1's in leg abilities.
I'm not saying this is a great figure by modern standards (though I did quite like the legends size version), but if you're going to compare it to G1, be real, compare it to G1 as a whole, not rose colored nostalgia of the best of the best G1. If this had come out in G1, it would have been considered highly articulated.
(I love G1, btw, lest anyone think I'm hatin on it, but let's be honest, G1 was about anything but articulation)
