We got some more news for the upcoming Transformers Alternate Universe Optimus Prime release. Firstly, I am referring to the grey redeco of Earthrise Optimus Prime, which references Optimus dying in the 1986 film. Firstly, through the Amazon wish list trick we can now see that the release date will be July 15, which is Prime day this year. @chrisrtxv on Twitter posted what they see on their Amazon wishlist, there is on actual link to the product page right now though.
We also have images of how the toy will come packaged with a cardboard box of Optimus' chest windows with reflections of his friends surrounding his death bed. Those image come from Toy Malaysia on Facebook. The group is private but the images have been reflected below.

Also, that Prime looks like he can be a Nemesis stand in.

With Siege having given us Spinister, and this Alternate Universe OP being a dead OP, the rest of the WFC Trilogy just needs to give us Galvatron, Scourge, Dirge, Thunderwing, and Bludgeon to give us the rest of the G1 guest stars from "Worlds Collide".
And maybe give us a Dropshot for good measure.

In a retelling, not everything (or anything) has to go the same way as in an earlier telling. The ranks of the characters have changed in some instances, the spoiler for Ultra Magnus suggests another change from 'what we know as we know it', guys introduced years later have backfilled to before the war.
I wouldn't be using actual G1 as the barometer of how it's 'supposed to go.'

Is "Prime Day" a USA only thing again? Meaning will that Graytimus be available at Amazon.ca at that date?

Perhaps it's from the perspective of the Netflix show, which is the show for this trilogy of toylines. If Optimus doesn't die in that show, then that would make the universe in which he does die (e.g. - the G1 cartoon universe circa TFTM) be the "alternate universe" from the Netflix show's perspective.Rodimus Prime wrote:Was it ever determined why this was named Alternate Universe Prime? Just like how G1 was seen as an alternate universe from Armada's perspective back when that franchise did its big "Worlds Collide" storyline in the Dreamwave Armada comics.

On page 201 of this thread I posted a link to a dude's Amazon Wishlist. He has this Prime in his wishlist. The trick is to go to his wishlist and order it for yourself. Stuff that is not available for order can sometimes be added to a wishlist and then pre-orders can be made from that listing. This is the second time I've used someone's wishlist to get a figure pre-ordered before the listing is up.grimdragon2001 wrote:Cheetron wrote:I get to typing in the tra part and it pops up in the search. Normally, Thundercracker and Skywarp are packaged with TC on the left hand side of the box and Skywarp to the right, as seen in this picture from our recent news report
Well what Star Scream has found is a product where they're position is reversed. As seen in this new image below:
Now, while this won't be a big deal to many, afterall the box will be destined for recycle bins across the world. Variant hunters may take a different approach. CollecticonToys itself has put this find up on their site to sell, for anyone wanting to own it.
What do you think? A different packing run? Or just one of those strange things life throws out now and again? Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

you would be correct. They heads are switched. Now I'm torn between which set I want. Really, I just want Skywarp. But do I want him yelling, or not. Hmmm...

I know traditionally he's a minibot, but if I recall correctly there are different comics showing him as being a taller bot, almost voyager height. Personally, I think it'd be kind of neat if we got a taller version because we already have a really good Legends sized figure. Plus, they could maybe try to do something similar to Cybertron Metroplex and give him a "tall" mode where he'd be a bit skinnier, and a "proper" mode where he'd be bulkier and smaller. I have no idea if it'd be possible due to plastic restrictions and engineering, but I think it could be interesting to see
Warpath is the obvious choice for big Legends/small Deluxe, given his alt mode.

In the Episode where they traveled back in time to King Arthur's era, Warpath was taller than Hoist.
Minibots were minibots to facilitate the toys, but the show tried to use 'common sense' depictions of size in many cases.

About Warpath: If/when they make him, I would want him to be at least Impactor size if not even voyager. He would be a shorter voyager, but that way they could really make him a good sturdy figure.

And yet there are people that will happily pay those prices. Just take a look at eBay. I was looking up a Combiner Wars Optimus, white or red, and they are starting at $80 used. New figures are easily over $100. And with this being a production error that is inherently limited, there are those that will have to have it.LinaNui wrote:I find it funny that they are switched around, I wonder if there could be a package with two of the same figure in it as well? Just out of curiosity, I followed the link to collectiotoys, and they are trying to sell the mix up for $300!? and even the normal for $164!? And looking at there other listings, SS scavenger for $89?!, they seem to be out of there minds when it comes to pricing.

If it's swapped from what they're supposed to be, and they both have the screaming face... Seems to me more likely that someone bought two of the pack, swapped the heads between one of the Skywarps and one of the Thundercrackers to get a Skywarp with a neutral head, then put the Thundercracker and Skywarp both with screaming head back in the box (in the wrong order), sealed it back up, and returned it.

Same here. I have to hit a pharmacy every week for Sudafed and this time I hit my good Target. Plenty of Grapples and Shockwaves with a single ER Starscream. still ridiculous... we’re giving free advertising to a scalper? distasteful. reminds me of those fools who bought up hand sanitizer early on during the pandemic to resell, unfortunately the government probably won’t step in to protect us poor trans fans!
i’m just salty that my local target has already sold out. and i wasted two trips. grr.

While I like how they remolded the threads to make a single one, I still think that this figure is an easy pass if you already got the Siege.
Unlike Optimus, I think we're still far from the "ultimate" Generations Megatron.

Question is, what would a ultimate generations megs look like of they can't do anything too close to his original (and silly) alt mode. This also rules out a 'submarine' mode, as unlike Shockwave and Sixshot (+redecos/retools), megs submarine mold would still look too much like the real deal.
