Probably because I care a lot more about the Beast Wars guys. I imagine it'd be pretty expensive importing all three tho...

With the beast wars guys, its not really about importing, these are convention exclusives. So its the equivalent of someone in japan wanting to buy Botcon/SDCC exclusives. The only way an american will be able to get him is through BBTS, like the link I put below.
And Wolfman Jake, it should be same price as the LGEX toys of last year for deluxes:

By the way, can anyone tell if there's really ANY appreciable difference in the decos between Legends Rattrap and LG-EX Rattrap? They look identical for me except for the Beast Mode eyes being black on the EX version, which is more accurate for the Beast Mode, but the red eyes for the standard Legends release are much more accurate to the Robot Mode, which is the mode I would have him displayed in more often than not. I'm trying to figure out if there is really any reason otherwise to get the EX version of Rattrap. LG-EX Rhinox is a must for his less shiny metallic "skin." Same goes for Waspinator versus his previous Takara Generations version. The lack of the shiny paint looks a lot more on model in terms of coloring, though the deep green and gold did look nice too.
The space between Galvatron's "Headmaster" unit and the "Transtector" mask is still problematic. It looks like it should fit a lot more snuggly together. For instance, the chin on the Headmaster looks like it should plug into the back of the chin strap on the helmet façade. In the pics above, Galvatron's got a weird "double chin" deal going on.

It's just so damn weird that I really really hope a 3rd Party comes forward with a much better looking head piece!

Its not that complex. You just insert the titanmaster as his small head and then a mask flips from his chest and goes over it. And you can then rotate it all.
It works pretty much like the old beetlejuice toys but this time the bigger face stays attached to the body and stored there.

Soundwave and Blaster have those helmets as well. It's a bit of a necessary evil as all the Titan Masters have to remain the same size for overall compatibility, and the larger the body (like the Leaders and some Voyagers) the smaller the head would look proportionally. Like the Beetlejuice above. It's either find a way to bulk them out, or design bigger Titan Masters.
The helmet trick has been done before, mind you, mostly with combiners. Two that come to mind are Energon Optimus Prime and PCC Skyhammer, and G1 Scorponok uses the very same cheat.

It's a way to keep the titan masters uniformly sized and compatible with all size classes while still looking proportional on larger figures.

It also hearkens to the days of the Headmaster Jr. Half head half cockpit.

Did they remold Fort Max's feet?

I don't see how you can without giving him entirely new legs. Those legs and knees would need to be entirely redone to do it and to do so many our either have to deal with the back of his legs or sizes being completely visibly hallow or have to deal with huge fold out panels hanging off in city mode. considering his new city mode is technically a version of fort Max's city mode they-like hasbro-probably thought it was good enough and personably I think it is even if you're just laying him down and giving him the splits. It does look better than metroplex's where he just sits down.
Pretty sure the only retooling Max is getting is a new Heasmasters cartoon/toy a crate head for his smaller robot

It seems so. Shockwave is coming with a head as well.
But at least they are getting Nightbeat and Siren's heads

Yeah, I never thought it was possible either. I was just confirming what I believe most of us knew deep down, that Takara couldnt fix whatever people dont like anout this line. Galvatron is still a headmaster with the same gimick and Fort Max' city mode still doesn't look like a city. I love Takara, but I dont think any of us should have expected the amount of retooling needed (which you describe perfectly) to make it so different.
Posted by Randomhero on May 10th, 2016 @ 9:00am CDT
Well...they didn't. I never thought for one second they would because it would be too much of a hassle and Takara likes gimmicks as much as hasbro.
I don't have any issues with none headmaster characters joining in on it because it's a total choice to buy them.
If I have had to complain about anything it'd be that we're getting extremely accurate characters with the gimmick. I like the drift retool of Blurr but I would have liked the new Blurr without the gimmick 6 years ago. Same with scourge. The original classics scourge is great but your can't argue him turning into his old bathtub alt mode. That being said in totally going to buy 4 scourge figures to have an army of man operated sweeps because that's awesome to me. Just wish the masters hands weren't hanging off his head.

See this Titanmaster?
If you notice, it has a screw in its body. Unscrew that, take the arms and legs off, and screw it back in, and you have a better proportioned Scourge head.

That's a good idea IF the arms are one piece but I think they're ball joints. I think that screw if for the sake of both front and back halves to stay together. If they're ball joints than you're just giving Scoruge Frankenstein bolts on his head

Hasbro's Weirdwolf indeed looks great already, but I'll wait to see what Takara does with the deco, which I imagine is realistically not much, because, again, Hasbro's is already pretty spot-on. The bonus with Takara, though, will be the deco-matched weapon-vehicle accessory for Monzo to ride around in.

I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer for Super Ginrai
Unlike the others, Weirdwolf will keep the US name for Japan, and not have it shortened like "Skull" (Skullcruncher) or "Wipe" (Mindwipe) like in G1. And wait a minute! That vehicle he comes with? It's Apeface's vehicle!

All Titanmaster vehicles have a weapon mode, hasbro just hasn't shown them off at all, so we have to wait for TT to do that

Railbomb wrote:Is it just me or does it look like the pic of Fort Max they're using seem to be an early prototype before the got the Metroplex parts cast in new colors?
Yes, it looks like they're using the Hasbro prototype for that one. Blaster is likely their own prototype, being the earliest numbered in this set and therefore the most recent release and furthest into production. The rest are Hasbro's figures with or without the new parts, using grayscale photos to keep fans from jumping to conclusions.
I wish Hasbro would announce figures at such an early stage as this, it would be harder to spoil us with rumors that way.
I was hoping Fort Max would at least give us news on any weapons coming with him, but I guess the wait continues.

I just looked. Those arms are on a ball joint. You won't be able to just take them off with unscrewing the body.

So far there's been no fiction given to Hasbro's figures (not yet, at least), but Sakamoto confirmed at BotCon that he'll be using the Legends manga to tell the Japanese story of the Takara figures.fenrir72 wrote:Did Hb explain why the other HMs had no bodies? Or will the be bodies to follow?
Or if you mean in a real world sense why Hasbro's Titan Master class figures are bodyless heads, it because the Titan Master class figures are meant to be affordable replacement heads for the Deluxe/Voyager/Leader toys' heads in case any of those heads get lost or broken, even if the ones we've seen so far aren't the same characters as the larger figures.

"Replacement heads"?! No pun intended by banging my head. Well, maybe I should also appreciate that Hb/TT even attempted this line but is kind'a half @ssed. Now if they all actually had proper bodies

There’s no hard rule about it, it’s more of a case by case thing. We wanted to at least get full figures for the original main Headmasters, but there’s also a vast pool of characters to pull from. It does give us an opportunity to do more obscure characters, but it’s always a possibility. We just cannot confirm or deny anything at this time.

From zooming in it looks like the takara head actually looks like the box art of the hasbro head while the actual hasbro head looks nothing like the art. The hasbro head actually looks like combiner wars strafe.
