UW 06 Grand Galvatron is made up of the following characters from random various parts of the Transformers fiction:
Tactician Cyclonus: a redeco of the Cyclonus with a metallic purple deco for robot mode and jet mode but a Gavtaron G1 toy deco for the torso.
Ghost Starscream: a redeco of the Skydive made entirely of clear plastic with a new head.
Curse Armada Thrust: a redeco of Air Raid with a new head.
Zombie War Break Down: a redeco of Offroad meant to be the zombified Prime Breakdown.
Wanda ring Wandering Roller: a redeco of Rook meant to be autobot Roller who wandered into the wrong dimension at the wrong time, as the fiction states on Takaratomymall.
This mish mash of a combiner does have it's own accompanying fiction which can be found in the toy's listing at Takaratomymall.
It is available for sale on the site tomorrow (December 8th) for ¥16,200 and will be released April 30th 2016.
This is a Takaratomymall exclusive with no limits which means that anyone outside japan will be getting this combiner through an eventual Hasbro Asia release which your favourite online retailer will most likely be carrying. As tradition goes, that version will be slightly more expensive but also come with a coin, which this TTMall exclusive does not have. Be on the lookout on your favourite retailers for when the Hasbro Asia version will be available.
So, what do you think of this combiner. Are you excited or let down? Which figure do you like best? Is he worth the likely premium? Let us know on the boards!

So what does this mean? bbts and the like will get pre-orders up at a later date, or same time, but more expensive?
And yes, yes it is worth it...

It means their preorder will go up when they can secure stock. I don't know how soon after UW Guardian's preorder went up that BBTS and co got their listings, but assume roughly the same amount of time.

A. Takara knows something we don't about Roller.
or
B. Takara subscribes to the Roller is tarn theory.
Also, the bio states that his grudge and hatred over being abandoned was sensed by Unicron, which brought him to Cyclonus/galvatron's ghost. It's possible that Roller consented to being part of the combiner.

OH! Didn't he go into an exploding mine in the series premier, and never show up again? Maybe that's when his bio picks up...

Does this count as a hint that Tarn is Roller?
Though I'm disappointed that Thrust appears to have a mouth. Granted I have a sneaking suspicion the head was designed with a different Thrust in mind...
And that makes 2 Takara-exclusive Prime Breakdowns.

After Galvatron's death, Cyclonus was possessed by his spirit. Due to galvatron's rage and hatred and being an asshole, he reformated his/Cyclonis's body into a scramble combiner body. With the aid of Unicron's singularity and interdimensional powers, they are able to pluck warriors from the dark side of the force to be part of the Galvatronus combiner.
Starscream is partially physical and partially an energy being/Blue Jedi Ghost who is cooperating for unknown reasons.
Thrust was taken by Unicron postmortem, and miiiight plan to subvert Galvatron and take revenge on Unicron? My translation of this one was the worse
Breakdown was taken after Silas Breakdown's death, and his spark was returned to the carcass. His rage was so great not even death could stop him. He hopes if he continues to cooperate with Galvatron/Cyclonus Unicron will return him to his home dimension.
Roller is there due to his feelings of abadonment, causing a massive grudge against the autobots. Because of this, Roller is cooperating in order to get revenge against those who abandoned him. So it's MTMTE Roller after All Our Parlous Yesterdays.

Well if you read the bios, they are all dead and reborn through Unicron. That Roller is the roller that got sucked up / died when Optimus died in the movie.

And yes, yes it is worth it...
It will be on BBTS and other sites shortly for anywhere between 160-180$. Still cheaper than TFSS.
Seibertron wrote:That's a new head on Starscream as well, correct?
Yup, and these are technically all new heads for Japan since they never got Cyclonus, Rook or the Offroad head (they are getting the alpha bravo head with Vortex). So they are giving their local market nothing but new headsculpts with this set. That's awesome!
Optimizzy wrote:that ghost starscream is an utter disappointment. Still, thrust and breakdown are cool.
With the new head and clear plastic, its probably the one I want the most aside from Cyclonus.

The autobot sigil is in dark grey on the vehicle mode.

That all has GOT to be Ichikawa's work. Only he could come up with something so fanwanky and relate to Western-original media (IDW's MTMTE comics) and concepts (Unicron's formerly-singular nature).SW's SilverHammer wrote:So from my terrible understanding of Japanese, here's a summary.

That seems fair for all the paint (and the detail apps), translucent parts, and new head molds, this is entirely reasonable, probably wouldn't pay more than $180 for it though, that's asking a little much.
And, is it just me, or does it look like cyclonus is comprised entirely of metallic plastic/paint... that might be an issue with longevity

Just two new heads (Starscream's and Thrust's), and given Demolishor's head in the Onslaught mold, I wouldn't put past HasTak that those heads were built in from the start, just in case.

But for Japan, its 5 new heads since none of these were ever distributed there yet. And yeah, I am certain these were planned by takara from the start when Hasbro was doing their own designs for alternate heads.

Breakdown wants return to his home dimension to reunite with Knockout. Tragic love story here.
Also I think this might confirm prematurely, Rollar is tarn To loosely quote a hookey ancient space religion, "Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will".”

You have:

-G1 Ghost Starscream (Pretended to work for Unicron)
-Armada Thrust (Agreed to help Sideways work for Unicron)
-Prime Zombie Breakdown (Infused with Dark Energon, AKA Unicron's blood)
-"Wandering" Roller (This one is weird, but apparently it's G1 Roller who was lost between dimensions then rescued by Unicron and now he hates Optimus).

I didn't pick that up from the Bio from takaratomymall. I understand if it's similar to the whole theory of "IDW Roller is Tarn" thing, but I didn't read that.
Also, it's amusing, but it's worth pointing out that Cyclonus' use of Blues and Purples is nearly spot on with the original G1 Cartoon and movie, and thus:
HASBRO Galvatronus: G1 Toy Accurate Cyclonus + G1 Cartoon Accurate Galvatron
TAKARA Grand Galvatron: G1 Cartoon Accurate Cyclonus + G1 Toy Accurate Galvatron.

These new heads were likely pretooled by Hasbro from the beginning rather than created wholesale by TakaraTomy.fenrir72 wrote:Seibertron wrote:That's a new head on Starscream as well, correct?

It's subtle, but it suggests that this roller was taken from directly after the vents of MTMTE #36, in which after time traveling shenanigans, Roller is abandoned by his autobot comrades. Reference. Also the main artist for the Unite warriors stuff and takara legends comics is one the MTMTE artists sooooooo spoilers?

Tactician Cyclonus:
Emperor of Destruction Galvatron's loyal Air Staff Officer. Transforms into a Sci-Fi jet. Receiving a revelation from the dead Galvatron, Cyclonus takes Galvatron's spirit into his body and reformats himself into a new combination-capable "scramble body". Using the power of the Interstellar Emperor Unicron, Cyclonus summons from other dimensions warriors bearing strong malice and evil power. Using the combined energy of their malice, they seek Galvatron's complete resurrection!
Ghost Starscream:
Former "Number 2" of the Destron Army; known by all as a traitor. Transforms into a jet fighter. Wandering space as a being of pure spirit energy, Starscream was resurrected by the power of Unicron and sealed into a half-living-half-dead, insubstantial "ghost body". Now, his insubstantial form radiates the malicious energy generated by his hatred of his murderer, Galvatron. He appears to be cooperating with Cyclonus and Galvatron, to whom he owes his resurrection, but his true nature remains unclear.
Curse Armada Thrust:
Destron warrior from another dimension, he is known as a cool-headed strategist. Transforms into a jet fighter. Once crushed to death during Unicron's transformation, Thrust harbors complicated feelings towards being summoned and resurrected by the Unicron of another dimension. It seems like he secretly plots to somehow use the revived "Grand Galvatron" formed, in part, by his new "scramble body" to get his revenge on Unicron.
Zombie War Breakdown:
Decepticon (yes, it specifically calls him a Decepticon) warrior from another dimension, he is adept at destruction. Transforms into an off-road car. Killed by his comrades and forced to suffer the use of his corpse by human, Breakdown's incredible malice would not allow him to die. Instead, he roamed the earth as a zombie until he was summoned by the Unicron of another dimension. Resurrected in a new "scramble body", Breakdown faithfully obeys the orders of his new master. However, in his deepest thoughts he dreams of reuniting with his former partner, and secretly longs to return to his original dimension.
Wandering Roller
Wanders the space between dimensions after being separated from his comrades in the heat of battle, he was originally a Cybertron warrior. Transforms into a 6-wheeled armored vehicle. Roller's spirit was destroyed by absolute solitude while awaiting rescue by his sole comrade. Believing himself abandoned by his trusted comrade, he became ruled by despair and self-condemnation to the point where he eventually carried strong malicious energy. That energy was sensed by Unicron, who brought him to this world. His memory is patchy due to his long wanderings, but he still bears an incredible hatred for the symbol of the Cybertrons: Supreme Commander Convoy.

I'm fairly certain that Energon Starscream wouldn't work as he eventually became Cybertron Starscream. However since Super Link Star/Nightscream doesn't become Galaxy Force Starscream it could work. There is connections to Unicron though through Alpha Quintesson and then through Mega/Galvatron. Or something like that. I don't know, I need to rewatch all of that stuff.

Oh, he's going to be announced at a later stage by Hasbro in some sort of superior version, to complete the Galvatronus set. Better paintjob, accurate face, named after something Simon Furman cooked up and made out of sheer fanboy adoration, wishes and dreams. Then everybody will pester Takara for a United release to go along with Galvatronus and Takara will remain vague about it for months and eventually cancel the entire set. One year in the future, Takaratomy mall puts up a limited pre order for only the Alpha Bravo remold, sending us back to the end of 2014.

The thing itself is glorious, and makes you realize what hasbro could be doing. I love clear Starscream. So Takara. Cyclonus. Holy cow. All the detail. I wonder if it really looks like that. Thrust is an eh for me. Never really cared for Armada. Breakdown is kinda out of nowhere, being from the Al. Continuity. He looks really good, though. Roller. Roller Roller Roller. I need a blue version. That would be amazing. Roller was the second (technically) 'Former I ever got. So special attachment factor there. (though I frankly hate the lore. Roller joining the Decepticons? Riiiggght.)
But it is glorious.

Could that Galvatron be Galvatron II? Galvatron got frozened and was reformatted later to Super Megatron in Battlestars. Unless his spark left that body, wandered into Cyclonus and later left him(Cyclonus) and was returned to his original body by Star Giant (?).
