Hey Will: Now you can finish your spreadsheet!
I want to see Hasbro's, too, but this figure is AMAZING. The altmode is perfect, the robot mode is awesome. I can't even tell this is a Blast Off retool. It looks completely new.

Seriously! That alt mode!
The only downside to this is I wish they'd done more with Lightspeed and Scattorshot.

Oh, I believe you!!
A little more to those 2 would have been nice, but at least with Scattershot we got the new chest and combiner head!
Also, I was literally watching TFYuki's twitter for almost a half hour waiting for that image. As soon as it showed, it was newsed. took only 4 minutes from him releasing the pic to me having it front paged

don't you dare anticipate cancelling that preorder. This is awesome! Computron has finally risen! I'm still unsure about this dude, but I feel confident that he will be awesome!
Now I really may need to get this one. Argh, this is making my wallet and my head hurt so much

EDIT: And preorder at BBTS placed. $35 for a much better rendition of the figure is fine by me. Two molds I don't have.

Do you remember what I said about possibly making a Movor out of a backwards Blast Off? Seems a little more plausible now.

Why? My figures have to actually look nice, that includes a well laid out deco, something TT has not done well for their last 4/5 combiners

All of the bots look amazing.
Weakest alt mode imo is Afterburner, but the modification is okay.
I don't have (and won't get) Wheeljack, so the Lightspeed mold is cool with me.
I'm sure it's because it's unpainted, but in the collage images someone posted, it looks like the hood is less rounded on the sides compared to the Wheeljack mold.
Probably just from a slight difference in camera angle of the shots, but it does look more squared-off to me.
Anyway, can't wait to see color images.
I love all of those head sculpts!!!!

My spidey sense is telling me that the deco on this one will be pretty awesome layout wise. I'm feeling some hard, good efforts to round out unite warriors here

Considering that Computron is largely just a red and orange blob, I am not overly concerned.

See, that's a thing here. I do not have this mold, and the way they did it from Blastoff is incredible and very well pulled off. While I thought Air Raid was the best choice, and we shall see when hasbro actually shows off their technobots individually (hopefully this weekend), I really do like the ingenuity and the engineering behind it.

I don't know how is an Aerialbot retool more lazy then a Space shuttle retool?

Despite then fact that they have not done six members which can't be possible in the combiner wars format unless one of them is a legends figure which Takara does not pack with their combiners.

If defense here, the Aerialbots were used several times. The Firefly mold was used 3 times (Fire, sling, Blast) and this mold has only been used once. and this is a complete reshell, not just a change of head. That makes this very unique, like Nosecone being an extensive retool of Rook. Both pull it off and are using lesser used versions of molds (the jeep descendants of Rook are very different from him and now Nosecone)

It's a retool no matter how you spin it who cares how many times it has been used that is not the point.
I will never understand people's disdain over them nor the content boot licking Takara receives I don't hate Takara I hate the comparing between it and Hasbro and the poor reasoning of why Hasbro is always crap because it always is I mean when they try something new (Alpha Bravo) they get called a greedy uncaring company who just want your cash.
Yeah Takara has better paint or might get something done better but it does not mean that Hasbro is lazy.

Yes, it is a retool, but it is a retool of a mold used far less frequently. You should know I'm not one of the hard takara guys as I only own 2 takara things and have said before that Hasbro has done better paint wise with several of their combiners. And a reshell is usually much more exciting than a simple new head.
And while Hasbro has done some new stuff and also cut down on price, Takara has done some amazing things. Groove, Blastoff, Strafe, all guys that are new molds that we never got (save now we seem to be getting Groove) and that is exciting. mold fatigue took over us at the end of CW, and there was potential for more stuff to be done to multiple combiners (Devastator for instance) that hasbro just didn't do, which is disappointing. This is just showing it with how far Takara is going the extra mile. To me, this combiner has 2 brand new molds and all 6 have new heads and (save Lightspeed) brand new tooling too to make them more unique. There was potential, and while the hasbro offerings have been no where near bad, speaking from having all of them save Sky Lynx to date, it's just there is proof of the extra mile not taken

No man, it's ffO tsalB.
Sabr, when you said that, I did a double take and started checking the altmode for how it all works out. When an couldnt figure out where his feet were in spaceship mode, Imlooked at his robot mode to get a better idea of how his feet look; that's when I realized he doesn't have a DD bust size.
Seriously, he is unrecognizeable as a Blast Off reshell.

They could skip out on a voyager torso and make a way to do two deluxes that combine to make a voyager-sized CW/UW torso for the rest of the limbs, similar to how Devastator works, really. Takara has shown they're willing to get REALLY fancy with retooling and original engineering for their releases.

True, but they don't go all out to that degree. They take what they can, rework it to be show accurate, but they don't completely change the structure of the combiner.

I'd say it's possible, but improbable. I'm not sure what the structure of their budget looks like, but as they just release the hasbro figures (for the most part) they may have built this into their budget

Never say never. There is a 3rd part Liokaiser being made right now, and Takara takes great pride in Liokaiser. I would not put it past them to create a new modern version. They do make takara-exclusive molds and combiners

Genuine question......since G1 ended in Japan in the early 90s, has Takara made any exclusive molds and/or combiners? Aside from Blast Off/Strafe, I genuinely can't think of any.

Ah, thanks! While not my cup of tea, I'd forgotten about these guys.
While Takara apparently has done this one set of combiners, solo, since 1992, I don't think they're about to change a line as drastically as making Liokaiser 6 bots instead of 5- IF they do him. Their M.O. seems to be to repaint where it makes sense, retool or a new head where it makes sense, or reshell a mold....if it makes sense.
My point being, it wouldn't make sense to the way they've operated their business since the 90s (again, these combiners being the lone exception) to drastically alter a line just to make it THAT accurate.

In addition to the Go! combiners the combiners in Car Robots were originally their designs that were later used by Hasbro.
