In addition to the images of Takara Tomy's Transformers Prime Arms Micron AM-30 Rumble, AM-31 Frenzy, and AM-28 Leo Prime we now have images of AM-27 Ultra Magnus and AM-29 Shockwave courtesy of site sponsor Robotkingdom. It appears that Shockwave will indeed be a reuse of the Generations FOC Deluxe Shockwave with a new Arms Micron to replace his blaster attachment. Many had speculated FOC Shockwave was just being used a placeholder until the figure's full reveal, but apparently that is not the case. Ultra Magnus uses his Transformers Prime RID mold of course, with a new Arms Micron that transforms into a hammer. Images mirrored below.

Meh, on Shockwave.

I wouldn't count on it. The lighting in these kinds of images are usually over-saturated, giving the colors a bright neon tint from how they really look.Rated X wrote:Hard to tell but it looks like Shockwave will gwt that G1 cartoon accurate purple we need. The color looks more G1-accurate in the picture, but you know you can't always trust the color in these images.
I love SW's micron. It reminds me of the microns for Vehicon and Jet Vehicon.

You could be right. But Im gonna go off the fact that this image is missing the redish tint that you would get if you blasted the Hasbro version with excess light. This one seems to have a bluish tint instead. And if they go for the chrome like the other Takara FOC figures have, the mix of silver and purple paint would only lighten the purple. If not ill be sure to cancel my pre-order.
On the mini-con - I dont hate the little guys, but Im planning on using this as a classics Shockwave with the wings flipped down. Not as FOC/TF Prime or whatever Has/Tak intended this mold to be used for. No mini-cons needed for a classics shelf.

What will you use as his arm/hand cannon?

O right! The cannon itself is a separate piece.

He comes with a cannon that can be used on either hand.
Posted by Sabrblade on October 18th, 2012 @ 2:02pm CDT
Not the Takara version. His Arms Micron is the cannon, which you said you won't use.Rated X wrote:He comes with a cannon that can be used on either hand.

So without the Micron, Shockwave is weaponless, plus has a rather empty hull in vehicle mode.

Is this confirmed by Takara in writing or just speculation based on a picture that doesnt show the cannon ? I own the Hasbro version. I only transformed it once, but in my opinion the cannon is an essential part of the alt mode, even if it is removable. It doesnt sound like a piece that can be just excluded, especially at a higher price. If you are right, at least I got the Hasbro cannon to make him look G1.

If you look at the Takara figure pic, you can see that the micron tranforms into his arm cannon and attaches to both his robot mode arm and his vehicle mode in the same ways as the Hasbro arm cannon accessory. The Micron is his cannon for both modes, and without it, he's "disarmed", so to speak.Rated X wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not the Takara version. And it makes sense since most of the main line Takara Prime figures have completely excluded all the accessory weapons of the Hasbro figures, replacing them all with Arms Microns. Since this Shockwave toy is being released in their Prime toyline, Takara's treating it like a Prime toy.

In the alt mode pic, notice 2 of the 3 points from the original cannon clearly sticking out behind the Japanese banner at it's bottom. Unless this picture is a lie, the Takara version includes the cannon and the Micron is added as an extra bouus. Makes sense since everytime you infuse the mold with melted plastic, youre gonna get a cannon anyways. As I stated before, the cannon is essential part of the alt-mode. Taking it away would be like selling classics Mirage without his gun which is needed as part of the alt mode.
So what was the reason to make this figure part of the Prime line anyways ? If they made a late decision to release FOC, why not just change the packaging that we have never seen anyways to the proper line ? Would anybody even care if it went from being AM-29 (the last number) to TG-15 ???

Rated X wrote:Myth busted !!!
Look again. I'm spotting the crystal on top of the cannon in alt mode, plus the purple striping, meaning it's the Micron replacing the cannon. TakaraTomy nor Hasbro even isn't shy of not using parts of a mold, look at the PCC Microns (which are gang-molded with their larger partners), Henkei Lambor and Alert which actually excluded the supercharger for a more accurate alt mode, or Shockwave's upcoming retool, Air Raid, which has a sword instead of the cannon.
And FYI, the three points sticking out at the front? Integrated into the heels, so Air Raid has them as well.
Posted by Sabrblade on October 19th, 2012 @ 9:50am CDT
Takara dumped the cannon and replaced it with the cannon Micron.

Im looking at the part in alt mode that is purple that is quite clearly the cannon which Hasbro had molded in grey. You know, the thing thats shaped like the letter "Y" which is the front of the cannon. Look clearly it's right there in purple, so its not part of the Micron. The Micron has the same thing (minus one of the three portions) but in black. Like I said before...Myth Busted.
Those are the heel parts I was talking about! In alt mode they slide in front of the barrel:
Next time, actually consider the fact you may be wrong, and investigate what others are saying.

But this is not really a TF Prime figure. Its an FOC figure in a Japanese TF Prime box with a bonus micron that has nothing to do with TF Prime or FOC. Theyre basically putting lipstick on a pig.
And nobody actually knows if the cannon is going to be included or not. Is the Micron a Bonus cannon or a replacement for the cannon ? Nobody knows. Everybody is just assuming. I may be wrong, but so may all of you.
ASS-U-ME

Let me bring this up one final time. I see:
- Faintly, an energon Crystal in the back
- A purple stripe on both the Micron and the vehicle mode
- No Hasbro cannon anywhere
Wheeljack, Battle Shield Optimus and Deluxe Optimus Prime mold aside, none of the Arms Micron releases have a single Hasbro weapon and I certainly don't think they'll make an exception for Shockwave. Hasbro didn't for Air Raid...

Sure it does. Remember that the Japanese dub of TF: Prime includes those new Arms Micron Theater segments in which the Arms Microns are characters who interact with each other.Rated X wrote:But this is not really a TF Prime figure. And the show itself sometimes has the characters speak of the Arms Microns in the Japanese version. For example, in the episode Starscream loses his arm, while the English version has Knock Out suggest Starscream replace his old arm with either a Null Ray or Sonic Cannon atachment, Japanese Knock Out instead suggests that Japanese Starscream replace his old arm with a new Arms Micron.
And as for "jumping the gun" on whether or not Takara Prime Shockwave will or won't include the Hasbro cannon, consider the following:
All the same parts across all four have been circled and pointed out. The cannon on Shockwave's arm, the bug Arms Micron, the separated cannon, and the cannon in Shockwave's Vehicle Mode are all very clearly the same piece.
Hasbro cannon, however, aside from the Y-shape of the barrel, looks very different:

Rated X wrote:If the joints are even slightly loose, the whole arm will flop and the figure will fall over. Thats one off the reasons I believe the cannon will be included.
Since when do they consider joint issues for what they put in releases?

When the prototype falls flat on his face in the convention display case from having an overweight arm cannon.

Your points make perfect sense. But logic aside, they might just throw it in if the cannon is part of the mold when it's infused with melted plastic. I mean, what are they gonna do with 10,000 spare cannons ? Butt plugs ???
I honestly never watched Japanese dubs of TF Prime because I have the english version available. Do you have any you tube links of the parts showing the microns ?
Posted by Jelze Bunnycat on October 20th, 2012 @ 12:34pm CDT
As the Microns, google "Arms Micron Theater".
Posted by Sabrblade on October 20th, 2012 @ 2:33pm CDT
Yes, but I'm not sure if a man of your particular tastes might wish to see them, since they aren't subbed in English and are much more lighthearted and more "wacky fun" in tone compared to the main show itself.Rated X wrote:I honestly never watched Japanese dubs of TF Prime because I have the english version available.
