It sold out rather quickly in Japan which is the market those sites cater too.

Yes, 1.
The red tailight is red paint on clear plastic in one and on the other it is clear red plastic with yellow paint covering everything else.

The Japanese version sold just fine because it could be bought considerably cheaper than the TRU version (and even more so over the scalped ones sold by TFSource and BBTS). The version can be had for as low as around US$42, even with US$7 or $8 for shipping you're still coming in at US$15 under TRU's price.

Works out to $155 after shipping. That BBTS price is mighty tempting.

What helps is BBTS bought all their copies when the Yen was lower than it is now. And since you are getting a new one with them, its a far better purchase.

I will wait to get the resissue of Megatron, and I hope beyond hope that they reissue most of the current MP line up, from MP 11 on.. I think MP-10 has plenty of releases so far, and is still the gold standard in Masterpiece figures..

Do you guys think this is just a bad photo of a poorly painted proto or will he have differently coloured legs?

I was looking around for a more specific release date for the MP-22 reissue, since he's coming up (still haven't found anything better than "january"). I noticed on his lower legs, the inner portion of them is entirely red, whereas the original had blue paint there, with white paint just below the knee, if i believe correctly.

According to TakaraTomy Mall the MP-22 reissue is due January 27, 2018.
That's just the old stock photos. And fixed on the revamped Takara website --

I have a feeling this will eventually be released by hasbro. he's a prominant character (movie character at that) and has no licensing. Sounds ripe for release.
