Well, thanks to fellow Seibertronian Sabrblade once again as he's brought in a more accurate translation of the listing - rather than 'Crowbar', the Titan Master is in fact 'Clouder', the Japanese counterpart to Doubledealer and a character who starred in Masterforce alongside Ginrai, Overlord and all the rest. While we still don't have pictures so we don't know which pre-existing Hasbro head (if any) he'll be using, this nonetheless clears up some previous confusion. Check out Sabrblade's post below and discuss and speculate in the forums!
Sabrblade wrote:Alrighty! Now we got some real clarification on the Katakana for these figures thanks to Loopaza Mega Store.
LG47 is Kickback & CLOUDER, not Crowbar.
LG48 is Gong & Repug, so Repugnus is indeed keeping his original Japanese name.
And LG49 is still Targetmaster Triggerhappy.

It would be pretty awesome. Just add it to the list of Triple Changer -masters that Titans Return never got around to.

That's toy accuracy and come on, we're talking Takara

Maybe. This is all based on a name and it can still mean anything.

We received some details of the coming up of Takaratomy Transformers news.
Coming in September, there will be 2 reissue of the Disney Label - Mickey Mouse both the standard and Black & White Trailer.
The LG series will continue in October and there is:
LG47 Kickback & Crowder, Kickback of course is the insecticon and Crowder is the Japanese name of Doubledealer? (properly just a headmaster)
LG48 Gong & Repack, Gong is the Japanese name of Brown and Repack is Repugnus
LG49 Target Master Trigger Happy, it will be the Trigger Happy with a Targetmaster.

The other 2 listings say: "Disney Label Mickey Mouse Trailer Standard" and "Disney Label Mickey Mouse Trailer Monochrome".

You know, I have a feeling Clouder (aka Doubledealer) is an unrevealed face for one of the original molds, like how Sweeps was. Which means it could be from:
- Apeface
- Brawn
- Fangry
- Loudmouth
- Nightbeat
- Ptero
Keep in mind that's a Hasbro release potential, thus has a vehicle that may match either mode (missile carrier or vulture).

Or the titan master only figure to come with the next 2 box sets.

That, no. Rodimus Prime and Thunderwing have the same retooled chest design, which makes me suspect they're gang-molded with the new face plates. Ergo, expect the next two to have the same chests as well. Plus, they're die cast, so I don't see TakaraTomy using them for a regular release.
And another thing to ponder: what "suit" will he use? The Cybertron one (Knok):
or the Destron one (Skar):

If they painted the shoulder/forearms grey (and we have precedent for paint here), that could be pretty convincing. Although, no weird cheek lines - and given the minor differences in the Mindwipe head, I suspect that alone would warrant a retool.

Most likely the Cybertron one since Clouder sided with them in the end (despite his Transtector doing otherwise), and since there's no Titan Master mold whose head mode is a bird head.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:And another thing to ponder: what "suit" will he use? The Cybertron one (Knok):

Doesn't explain him coming with Kickback, they'd be the first cross-faction set.

Hmm, that's true. But then again, when the Transtector became evil, he used his Cybertron robot mode instead of his Destron one.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Most likely the Cybertron one since Clouder sided with them in the end (despite his Transtector doing otherwise), and since there's no Titan Master mold whose head mode is a bird head.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:And another thing to ponder: what "suit" will he use? And, well, even though Cancer and Bullhorn were Destrons, they became good guys in the end and are still presented as such in the Legends manga, despite being packed with Legends class bad guys.

william-james88 wrote:Why do you guys still seek logic in the release? I thought the numbering of the MP Primal redeco removed all logic forever more.
Because there's actually a pattern here that directly has to do with how Takara feels it's able to sell things, rather than arbitrary numbers that never really made much sense to begin with and we were kind of reaching for a reason. Which faction is packed with which faction in a toy aimed at children is a part of their selling strategy; the particular number of a high-end collector's line is not. These are apples and oranges.

Takaratomy Transformers Legends
This month Japanese Magazine Hyper Hobby vol.2 cover some details of the coming up Transformers Legends Series.
There's the images of the little Headmaster of Trypticon & LG-EX Black Convoy. Also, there was a scale comparison of The Target Master with the Headmaster of Hotrod and Kup.
And the Japanese version of The Last Knight figures is just started.

Yep. They're the Hasbro versions with prototypes of the retooled Takara parts.Carnivius_Prime wrote:but those are pics of Hasbro's Hot Rod and Kup with Takara's retooled parts (unpainted) showing what they've changed?

And if so, it's only for the sake of cartoon accuracy?
I just ask because I'm confused as to why Takara would want to retool Hot Rod at all, especially over what seems to be a really small detail. I get why they did it with Kup, because at least his silhouette is altered a bit, but it's not as though Hot Rod has elbows that can only b be sideways.

Yeah, I don't like their retooled Hot Rod. The hood doesn't integrate into the chest as well, and while I get why they made the engine switch around for robot mode, they didn't replace it with a collar or anything. It's just a flat blank plate. At least put a logo there or something.

Hot Rodimus' chest is retooled for two reasons:
1) the engine can now be flipped back, making him more accurate to the original toy and cartoon appearance (the engine on the chest thing is new since his Classics toy of 2006).
2) the engine has a 5mm port for the new-mold Targetmaster, to call back to his Targetmaster toy and TFC reissue.
Note the hood is clear plastic.
:EDIT: Upon closer inspection of the Targetmasters: definitely Peacemaker and Fracas.

Though, have we had a good enough look at Ramhorn's Titan Master head? The way the mold looks here makes its head look almost like it has a beak, like Buster's Suit Mode helmet.

It will be cool to have some extra random heads finally!
LG Kickback: I love the Insecticons on the show, and this figure seems nice, but there's no point in getting only one part of the trio.
LG Triggerhappy: ahh.. wish he weren't a Headmaster......

Brawn looks pretty decent. I think I prefer the Hasbro colours but they both look nice.
Kickback looks cool too, and I prefer his colours over the Hasbro version. I wish his wings were fully chromed but you can't win 'em all.

Triggerhappy looks mostly the same in terms of color layout and shade, but some paint apps are swapped around, either in placement or color. I'm guessing the "visor" around eyes is yellow, but it's hard to tell from these pics. The red of his optics kind of bleeds into that already small space visually. The real draw is the addition of his Targetmaster partner, so this is a must buy for me!
Brawn is absolutely perfect! Hasbro's is good, but this is GREAT! The brownish/olive green is on point for screen accuracy. All of the paint apps are there, including the silver horizontal stripes on his knees. He looks like he just stepped out of the original cartoon, more than ANY other toy version of Brawn has before. Must buy!
Kickback is interesting. On the surface, he's got much more screen (and toy) accuracy going for him than Hasbro's version. The silver and clear plastic wings look fantastic! His upper arms are now the proper black too. His Decepticon logo is now in the middle of his chest (sternum) instead of his right pectoral. He's even got the red horizontal striping on his shins akin to the G1 toy. Then...they apparently kept going with paint apps, like yellow knee caps (Hasbro had these two) and red stripes on his wrists. Those...aren't accurate to anything, screen nor toy. Odd choice for Takara. Still, the silver/clear wings sell this for me as my definitive "Classics" Kickback. Must buy! The Hasbro ones I have (three in all) will serve as his clones. I've done likewise, using TAV Shrapnel and Bombshell as their G1 selves while the Hasbro releases, each in triplicate, acting as their clone swarms. Yay for army building!

Brawn looks awesome, i\ll be getting him, just wish they gave him a gun.
Kickback looks great too, but i would have preferred if they made an Insecticon 3-pack so we could get all of them in the same colourscheme with a few energon cubes and weapons. There really is no point in getting him while the other two are not readily available in the same colourscheme.

The problem is, Hasbro's Insecticons don't match up in terms of their colors either. Each one has different shades of purple and yellow unique to him. I can tell you that the TAV releases of Shrapnel and Bombshell are a bit closer of a match to each other, but still not nearly perfect. Either route you go, and any combination of Hasbro or Takara releases you choose, you're not going to have perfectly color-coordinated Insecticons, unfortunately.

Hasbro's Shrapnel and Kickback aren't uniform with Bombshell.
Takara's Shrapnel and Bombshell aren't uniform with Kickback.
