Does anyone know how big voyager Long Haul's dump truck mode is when compared to deluxe Rampage,
voyagers Mixmaster and Demolisher?

Not to mention that they've got Overload and Rampage incorrectly colored yellow instead of red.

If you actually take notice, that excavator's color is mostly red...which would make it Scavenger, although we never see him in robot mode.
I agree that Overload is colored wrong, but the Rampage component on Devastator was yellow. The actual character Rampage that fought 'Bee was red, probably so it was easier for the moviegoers to distinguish between him and 'Bee.

Okay, that's my mistake on the excavator. Now that I've looked closer (I'm a dumbass), the alternate mode in the picture is white, but the robot mode is red.
I believe I am still correct about the Rampage component.

My Devastator was a cool machine. Cool like Terminator, huge as King Kong. Not cool as King Kong and huge like Terminator. They got it all wrong.
Someone said "We need BALLS to make this character work !", and they went the literal way.
Individual constructicons i will buy them, but the multicoloured abomination - i pass.

The pics on the bottom are just reference photos for the artists/modelers, it has nothing to do with the movie other than they are using those vehicles for reference for the movie, not the literal vehicles that are pictured. The concept art is also temporary and just for concept. I think I agree with bowerprime73 on why they changed Rampage to red for the movie.
But yea, that change of size for Longhaul is ridiculous. If they weren't going to make a Constructicons with all 3 modes that combine, they could have at least gave us a consistent bot combo count. I really wish they would have worked Overload into the $100 gift set. I feel like I'd rather buy 3 sets of the Legends figs than the $100 big set.

First of all, this chart is by no means to scale. Long Haul's alt mode is gi-freakin-normous. To put it this way....it takes 2-3 loads from an excavator that is sized at least as big as Demolishor's alt mode. So Long Haul's 'bot mode is roughly true to scale - no mass shifting. He should be one of the biggest constructicons - as reflected in the scene at the bottom of the ocean. Side note - as I recall...he isn't even a Caterpillar dump truck in the movie - possibly a Leibherr.
Secondly, this chart shows a movie accurate alt mode of Demolishor and the concept art for the Demolishor as well. Scavanger isn't even shown on this chart, and I don't recall seeing him in the movie either.
Third, Rampage is red in the movie - in alt mode and bot mode. Everything we've seen to this point (outside of the movie, that is) shows him as yellow....creating total confusion, since there is an unnamed, yellow bulldozer shown in the movie.
Finally, keep in mind that in the movie - the characters weren't even the ones that made up Devy. The constructicons in 'bot mode were searching for Sam while Devy was making his way for remodeling the pyramid with Agent Simmons following him. This is also why, IMO, we'll never see a Devy that's a true combiner with individual 'bot modes....cause that's not how he was in the movie. Excellent marketing ploy really (although I think its b%!!$#!^).

the individual Longhaul we have seen in robot-mode both on the boat and in the desert battle is a huge CAT 797 Mining truck (overall length 47.67 ft / 14.5 m).
The unnamed truck becoming Devastator's leg is a CAT 773 Off-Highway truck.
It is large (overall length 33.5 ft / 10.3 m), but not so large, and it is comparable in size with the yellow unnamed bulldozer (CAT D9L track-type tractor - overall length 26.5 ft / 8.1 m).
Maybe the red bulldozer (Rampage) is a smaller track-type tractor...

Ha ha ha ha ha.....
That just really made my day.
I also love mind you, how one whole constructicon didn't even obtain a robot mode. Unless someone wants to say, "Well he may have a robot mode we just didn't see it in the film..." yeah, that would be not having a robot mode.
In fact I took a gander at the Takara Legends fig.....all they could do was give the poor thing legs and hope it would suffice. I could only imagine the face of the poor designer of this figure when he realised there was a Constructicon who didn't transform. How do you do that? I mean I can understand Transformers in the movie who don't have alternate modes but magic wands...not agree with it but understand. But the other way around? Really?
Ugh, I'm going back to working on Movie Unicron. Just so I have a decent version just incase in the third film he ends up becoming some giant robot walking space stick or space squid. Oh dear God I hope I didn't jynx it.
Laters,
Josh

We saw Scavenger in the film right before the big transformation of Devastator. He was a red excavator, whereas Demolishor earlier in the film was white like that pic.Autobot Firestorm wrote:Secondly, this chart shows a movie accurate alt mode of Demolishor and the concept art for the Demolishor as well. Ok - I'll qualify my statement...we don't see Scavanger's 'bot mode in the movie.
For all intended purposes of this chart - its total fubar.
Something else that kills me - in the movie when Sam and Mikela are chased out of their hiding spot by Starscream, they run up a set of stairs that is crushed by a yellow Decepticon using a long chain with a claw or something on the end. Who is that supposed to be? Its obviously a contructicon, but the character isn't mentioned nor really shown again for for a few glimpses.

The robots name is scrapper.
Posted by Tyrannotaur on July 18th, 2009 @ 2:25am CDT
And scrapper's robot mode was in the movie. He is in the scene when Sam finds the Insceticon in the wall and then Starscream finds him. You see scrapper throw his winch claw at Sam and Mikaela as they run on buildings.

Tyrannotaur wrote:So how does Rampage form one leg and Long Haul form another leg when Rampage is that little and Long Haul is nearly as big as Scavenger? Wouldn't he have two different sized legs? I think they made Long Haul too big or this is early concept art or something, because it seems fishy.
did you see my explanation on the top of the page?
there are two different trucks, one as large as the bulldozer that forms the leg, a second one very huge.
according to Josh Nizzi (character designer), the robot mode is based on this second, huge truck: the CAT 797 Mining truck (overall length 47.67 ft / 14.5 m).
we can see in the movie that the truck forming the leg is the CAT 773 Off-Highway truck (overall length 33.5 ft / 10.3 m), which is comparable in size with the yellow unnamed bulldozer (CAT D9L track-type tractor - overall length 26.5 ft / 8.1 m) forming the other leg!!!!
hope this helps.

OHHH So basically the Devastator part is one model of Dump Truck and the actual Decepticon Long Haul is another model.
Hasbro/Micheal Bay should really have made this all less confusing and had the constructicons form Devastator and not have Devastator be like Voltron. Just use different Decepticons for the parts where the constructicons get killed (shanghai, Egypt, Underwater). Would have made loads more sense.

I agree with you, seperate Long Haul is Cat 797B and combiner Long Haul is Cat 773B.

I don't think it was because it was separate from Hightower, and it transformed into a bulldozer or JCB backhoe, not a crane.
