SAMUS DRAGON BOMBER TWINFERNO! And he isn't redundant with the Titans Return version!

The others? Meh. RiD's been so damn uninteresting with the villain choices. The show gives us crazy 3-armed train-snakes and Spider-Combiners and Ped, but the toyline just goes with the plain humanoid ones...

Oh so the whole thing about the council on the show is just Cyclonus mind-controlling everyone. Mystery solved.

Soundwave's alt mode is classified as... as a tank? ... oooookie dokie then.

Whelp that's an interesting fact about Cyclonus

AND MIGHT I SAY SPOILERS!!!

If you don't like spoilers don't read Cyclonus's bio which spoils what will probably be a future twist on the show.

Maybe. But those arent G1 characters so they didnt work with this story. I feel they wanted to tell collectors that this line was for them too.

This is basically the biggest story ever done for RID toys since they existed. They always seemed like a secondary line as far as marketting to collectors was concerned (con presence, reveals, ect). So I can see why the theme of this news was to only show G1 centric characters. Thats also why they clearly missed Legion Springload who is also coming out. The Spring date is super odd though. I Spring we already have the new aforementioned warriors, and all those crash combiners. Now we have 5 more warriors?!

 Indeed.

The good news though is that him being the big bad means we will probably get a warrior figure from him.

Also, am I the only one who is not feeling that seeker mold as being for anyone else than Starsceam (unlike the WFC or even the CW version)? Its like when they gave the coronation gear to Sunstorm as well. It just doesnt fit.

Yeah, it makes sense they're making Seekers out of it; but it's one of those times where a Starscream mold just fits his personality and his personality alone. I felt the same about TFP; I always saw that as a Starscream mold - not a Seeker mold.

Holy hot damn... :P I know I'm of a minority but that Skywarp looks beautiful. It may have to do with the fact he's my favorite Seeker, but... I want 'im! Sadly, I doubt he'll actually ever be in the show (as awesome that would be). Also drooling over that Prime/Fall of Cybertron -esque Soundwave.

By the by, anyone notice how similar Blurr's gun looks to one of the blasters rescue cannons used in Rescue Bots? Or is that just me?

Going by the bios it sounds like they'll be pitting Soundwave against Blurr. One guy that delivers data and another that specializes in intercepting it.

Also, Blurr, eh? Are we finally getting a Rescue Bots crossover?

Starscream's arrival seems to have marked the abandoning of the metal furries and the Decepticons becoming basically a grab bag of G1 rehashes like the Autobots. I was afraid of that.

Bludgeon actually looks fairly cool in robot mode, and his tank mode is weird but in a good way.

Twinferno is... I don't even have words. How did that alt mode even happen, and why do his flames make me think of Bionicle fire sword parts?

I can't imagine they'd have this Blurr be Rescue Bots Blurr (pretty sure that street only really goes one way, plus this is colored like G1 Blurr), so I hope he doesn't make it to the show. It'd be a mean thing to do to small children and people who try to keep track of continuity.

Skywarp because OF COURSE. There's probably gonna be a Thundercracker too, maybe an Acid Storm or Sunstorm or whatever too if they really feel like milking it.

Thanks for the spoiler, Cyclonus's bio. And this toy is probably the biggest G1 rehash of all.

Heh, they couldn't send Soundwave all the way back to G1, so they settled for sending him back to WFC. At least he kept his Prime-style head. And it actually looks pretty cool.

The face looks different, though.

And that bio pretty well describes him in a vein similar to G1 Blurr. We'll see how this pans out.

Yes but as said Rid Sideswipe already showed up in Rescue Bots which pretty much makes the two shows part of the same universe

This Blurr is the same as the other one and Toy bios hardly matter in context to the shows themselves only reasons he looks different is the same reason why RID Optimus looks different from his Prime version it's an artistic change for the show's style heck Sideswipe had the same thing when he showed up in Rescue Bots.

This was about what I was going to say as well. The looks are quite different between the 2, even though 3 characters have shown up in both and looked different from both interpretations. So, this could be the first time we are going the other way

You're completely missing the point I'm making by trying to force absolutes into where they need not be forced. Never was I questioning the universes of the two cartoons as being the same. All I was saying is that they toy doesn't look as similar to the Rescue Bots guy to convince me that it absolutely MUST be the same guy as he just because there's another show in the same universe as RID that happens to also have a guy named Blurr in it. There are several Uniend characters who share names with other Uniend characters who aren't the same guys. For crying out loud, there are both a Grimlock and Sideswipe in RID who aren't the same guys as their WFC/FOC namesakes!

Not helping this matter is how the RID Blurr's bio describes him more like G1 Blurr than RB Blurr. You claim that toy bios don't matter that much to the shows yet you yourself earlier cited how Cyclonus's bio is a spoiler for the show, which means his bio must matter, then. You can't have it both ways.

Let a guy have an opinion and let him wait and see what's gonna happen. =;

I'm talking about strictly Prime/Rid/Rescue bots which is at this point the only things that connect without plot holes.

Someone said at some point that these two Grimlocks are not the same character.

Wfc was never meant to be part of this continuity and it forced FOC to make changes that still don't mesh such as Stasrscream being on the run at the end of the game despite being with the Decepticons in prime also Dark energon are two different things in the shows and games.

The people making Prime specifically were ignoring Hasbro's wishes and were not trying to connect the games such as the Nemesis is not Trypticon according to the Show makers.

The games are no longer part of the main aligned tv show universe especially when those three novels exist that make a heck more sense despite also being ignored.

Anybody else feel like Blurr's cockpit looks like it could hold a buddy?
Maybe like a minicon?

I know. Wishful thinking on my part, but Titans Return has me inspired.

Just lay off, man. You obviously either don't get or don't care to respect anything I was saying, as you keep dodging my original points by bringing up other points that are completely irrelevant to my own.

But I will respond to this:
Deadput wrote:The games are no longer part of the main aligned tv show universe especially when those three novels exist that make a heck more sense despite also being ignored.
Bumblebee referred to Starscream's new G1-inspired form as his "old body style", meaning Starscream used to have a look similar to this one before he had his Prime body. There is literally no other reason for him to even bother making such a comment to Starscream about his new look than to make a nod to Starscream's G1-inspired look in the games.

Even the new Soundwave toy we see in this lineup is pretty much an obivous cross between his games look and his Prime look.

And you can't just ignore all the game nods that were put into the Prime cartoon. Unless someone goes and officially edits them all out of that show, they all still exist.

I am sure a titan master could fit inside there.

That doesn't necessarily mean there's a way to put one in, though.

I may actually be tempted into buying an RiD toy in the form of that Bludgeon. It's still not as good as the RotF toy and too simplistic and cartoony (and the tank form sucks) but it's still a nice version of one of my fave ever Decepticons so I may get it to stand next to my RotF figure and the tiny Prime guy too. The head sculpt looks unusually great for the usually goofy RiD style and better than the default RotF head (which I replaced with the superior Blood upgrade that has two switchable faces)

None of the rest look all that good to me. Soundwave maybe. Blurr looks awful.

Because it is. WFC/FOC and Prime belong in the same continuity, believe it or not. Well, that was Hasbro's original intent.

It's neither a Scion nor has any of Animated Soundwave's green music style highlights.

No extra gold accents either (the gold on the chest doesn't count since that's common to practically every G1-based Soundwave, whereas Animated Soundwave had extra gold on his feet, fingers, buttons, and face).

And no shoulder-mounted speaker wheels.

Interesting but if they are going to actually carry on making this line (which it has to end sometime right) then it might be nice to see Springload get a Warrior class toy.

Soundwave comes under the banner of "Interesting". Twinferno is more bizarre - but I'm OK with that as it's not like everyone is going to call the Titans Returns one Twinferno anyway - and you have the option to choose to do so or not - I actually might call Breakaway that so as to separate him from the IDW Getaway being unlikable.

So no more Combiner Force ones (that actually combine) then ?
Shame that is when they make such short mini-lines like that.

They really could do with making the 3 step a bit less kiddy though in terms of sculpt they look more babyish than some Rescuebots toys do.

Combiner Force is most certainly still a thing, it's simply a different class that runs alongside Warrior, 3-step, Combiner Activators etc.

I was expressing my concern that like the Minicon 2 pack assortment that the Combiner Force (that actually combines) is a very limited sub-line and is perhaps only designed to tie in to that very small segment of the cartoon - and as such won't actually expand beyond what we have seen.

I just would have liked a few more of that type to expand the variety of combination options that you can have - so something like Drift, Jazz, Ratchet or even Blurr would be nice to have with that type of toy too.

I just don't expect it to happen which may lead to a very limited play pattern.
